An easy way to manage music transitions in Unreal Engine 5. This video does not use Quartz, but I will make a video for that as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!

When measuring the main 5 channels (not the LFE), please leave the subwoofer unmuted. I’m color-blind, and couldn’t tell that it wasn’t unmuted when measuring the main five speakers. This is important if your subwoofer is being used to fill in the bass extension for the main five outputs, and is separate from the LFE. Apologies for the oversight!
Skyglass + Wrinkled Green Screen

This was a quick test in my office, with fluorescent ceiling lights, and a very wrinkled green screen. The background was just a preset, but the app lets you bring in entire 3D Unreal Engine Maps. I used no color correction, but the Skyglass app has a beta feature called AI Relighting. I can’t wait to try all of it. This is the worst it will ever look, and I’m already impressed!

Hi Instead of the delay and bool you should use "Initial Life Span" in your actor Class Defaults. Furthermore, to avoid errors on an actor that is pending kill or already garbage collected, there's an Is Valid function that essentially does what you did with your does exist bool.

love the basic technique while also allowing me to be able to not only follow along, but also understand it in a way i can retain the knowledge as well. My favorite part about this lesson was how you would explain it, do it, explain it again, do something else real quick, then come back to remind us once more,. Almost like checking to see if your kids brushed their teeth lol i would love to see some more hands on stuff, like blueprint interfaces, save and load mechanic, play menu, and maybe even interactions (i.e. doors, benches, etc) some good focus on animation (even if it covers just the ground) but also teach us how to build onto it, and maybe show us examples, tips, tricks, etc. Another big one is self diagnosing bugs. when you run into a bug and you don't know what's prohibiting you from doing the exact thing in a tutorial, guide, or wiki. Looking forward to future videos!

@@benblaumentalism6245 Dear Ben, thank you for your reply. I have also presented it for younger audiences with Similo Fables cards, using the intimate connection between the hero and its nemesis, and so forming pairs which are linked by that antagonistic rapport between them. In the end, instead of matching ESP cards, one hero and its nemesis match and then, of course, the other 4 pairs match also. Though the technical aspect of the routine is respected absolutely (I wouldn't dare pretending that I would be capable of modifying it) the context allows for a great experience for the audience.

Thank you, maestro! Part 2 is going to show how to use traces (like line traces, or “raycasts” as they’re known in other software) to interact with objects when you’re in range and just looking at them. They don’t need collision boxes, necessarily. A line trace can use the forward vector of the camera to determine the object of interest when you’re looking at it. I’ll also demonstrate a system that will create a visual cue that something is intractable when you look at it, such as an outline, shader modification, or a text pop up above the object. It’s a little harder to set up, but not that bad. Thank you for watching!

The first time ever I've been pleased to see an advert pop up part way through a trick! 😄"You pick a card and I'll find it" is intrinsically a boring plot, adding pointless procedure merely extends the tedium. Although I have to say the look to camera at 8:06 gave me a chuckle at the cheesiness of "for the very first time". (Plus, why do magicians still ask "What was the card you were merely thinking of?" when it's been physically selected? We're not stupid and the ploy is condescending and irritating).

Hi Travis! I’m a university professor, and I’m lucky enough to be able to teach Unreal Engine courses at my institution. Perhaps one day, I’ll do a video course. The only trouble with that is that Unreal is a moving target, and since it takes time to produce a full video course, features and best practices can change. I make videos frequently for my actual classes where I work, and am just now trying to build a presence on UA-cam. I like to say that I’m still “finding my voice” in this medium.
