We are trying to discover how many species of moths live in Monroe County, Florida. So far, we have found 632 species of moths in the Florida Keys and still counting. In this video, we will show you some of the biodiversity of the moths that live here.

In the Netherlands we only have about 19 species most of them are rare but this year I had 4 hawkmoths with my light trap on my balcony Lime hawk-moth, Smerinthus ocellatus the eyed hawk-moth ,Privet hawk moth and Elephant Hawk-moth

Yeh things seem to be getting quiet over your way (which is good because it means its getting busier here 😁). Still some great moths in this one! Soon it will be time for mothberg to start melting 😉
Doesn't look like your buddy sells those MVL rigs anymore (not that I could get them from over that way anyway, they look great though)

Have you had any success attracting moths with UV light alone? Or would you say that the mercury vapor is an absolute necessity?

UV does attract them but mercs seem to have more power to bring them in
