In 1975 when this song Low Rider came out I was only 12 years old. It was my favorite song as a kid and still is to this day . Now I’m 59 . In my late 20’s I bought a 69 Chevy impala and lowered it and put in a 5000 watt stereo system and went cruising in it , I was 30 . I bet you can’t guess what song I played while cruising , that’s right , Low rider of course . The group War is the only war I like. Thanks War for a grate child hood , love your music.

Saw War a few years back, Grand Funk opened w/o Farner. I wore knee length black leather flat heeled boots, danced~stomped all night feet were so sore the next day. What a fantastic night~memory! Love this funk band!! 😅
Best selling album of 1973, bigger than anything by the Who, Stones, Zep, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor or any of the solo Beatles. It was BIG.
Lee Oskar was always a rocker/marcher while playing. Met him a couple of times. Nice guy down to earth. Gave me a couple of harps. One of my favorite songs to perform. Always a crowd pleaser. War should be in the R & R hall of fame.
My parents are huge fans of WAR. I grew up hearing their music all the time ever since I was baby. Their music was engrained in my soul. I have so much respect for them. Seeing them live with my parents at the L.A. County Fair is a memory I’ll always remember.
So awesome I never seen the band war play live i was born in 1965 and heard there songs on the record player and radio that’s all we had back then thanks for the blast from the past !!
Love it! In the 70's was working a factory in jersey. My friend Jose lived in NY in the Bronx. We was listening to this song on break. He told me, steel in the following sentence means motor cycle, and the Fort is where the Outlaws had a clubhouse. Jose knew the ''Street view" of the music of the times, tough SOAB! here is the sentence means motor cycle probably a Harley. "They rode the sunset, horse was made of steel".
Incredible music talented musicians on their own right, I have always thought to see a jam together for these 3 bands on there heydays like WAR, THE COMMODORES and EARTH WIND AND FIRE .I must be dreaming .....

My exact statement
Big Afros, handlebar mustaches, but most of all? No bullshit, just real raw killer funky perfection!
