Thanks for the video! Found some front lift pucks off a WJ at pullapart and thought about grabbing them and the shocks. Gotta love how dead bones simple these Jeeps are
I absolutely love that fact! Thanks for watching.
On the back the spacers go on the bottom so the springs still have something holding them on top and bottom ,
Thanks for watching.
@@TheHappyLife-h7b That didn't rebut the original comment?? Does the spacer go on the bottom or top? Seems like the spring could get thrown from its position while on top....
@@thelastminutegiftsno, these people on the comments are dumb. These type of coil spacers go on the TOP, here's why... when you put a 2" spacer in the rear on top of the coil you still have about an inch or so of the metal piping in the perch that comes down to locate the top of the spring and you can delete the isolator, on this same spring the isolator needs to be on in place on the axle end on the bottom so it indexes the spring coil into place. That lower spring isolator is made of rubber and metal so it HAS to stay on the bottom. If you put that spacer on the bottom of that freakin coil you would have no 2.75" diameter metal pipe to hold your damn spring in from falling out
Rear spacers go on the bottom my friend, and lower isolator goes on top of spacer to locate spring again. The way you have fitted spacer on rear is a major cause of concern!!! Nothing seating top of the spring , high possibility spring can work its way out.
Cool, thanks
Awesome thanks for the video i have and 04 laredo se im gonna put a 2 inch lift kit from rough country and im putting new shocks. your video boosted my confidence in doing it myself.
Great and thanks for watching
This is a good time to replace the isolators. And trust me, they need replacing.
the hose connected to the Driver-side shock stud is the breather tube for the front diff.
Thanks for tip. I guess that will be the next project!
Your Jeep makes me so jealous! Mine isn’t in nearly as good of shape as that. I’d buy it tomorrow if I could
That Jeep looks like new 😍
Thank you and I appreciate the compliment!
just got a 2004 GC laredo from my bud for free its in pretty decent shape 4.0 228,000 miles runs great needs a little here and there but way better than what i had ive had a 98,94 and the new one all three were 4.0s .
Sweet! Thanks for watching!
I’m pretty sure you were supposed to put the rear lift spacers on the bottom. That’s why it wouldn’t fit easily on the top.
Instructions said to put spacers on top.
Let's Talk!!! Rita Dinnoo seems strange. All the other I’ve seen go on the bottom and the spring idolater sit on top of it.
I’ve always seen people put it on the bottom
Bottom seems safer. It appears like verrrrry little if anything is securing the top of the spring.
Nice👌 spacers are not too difficult to install
Good job on the Jeep 👍🏻I hear hints of trini or guyana accent 🤔 hi from 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching! 🇹🇹
Thanks for the video. Absolutely clear. I want to do the same
Thanks for watching!
gotta rugged on this timeless shape
I love the WJ....a timeless classic, just like the Wagoneers !!
Great video! Beautiful Jeep. I have the same exact one , color and all
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
Great final result¡¡¡ it looks awesome👍
Thank you for watching and the encouraging words!
I neglected my car an now I see more of my car videos on UA-cam, might change my mind
Thanks for making this video, very helpful!
How is the quality of the JGC Parts spacers? I’m looking at getting those also.
They are pretty good so far. They seemed to be a quality product. My WJ is a pavement pounder so I cant speak to the off road worthiness of them but so far they have been great.
Thanks for responding! Do you like the 2.5” front / 2” rear lift? I’m looking at doing the same to get rid of the raked stance that my Jeep currently has. I noticed most of these spacer lift kits are the same height front & rear though.
I like the stance with these.
So I ended up installing the JGC spacers about two months ago and so far I’m very happy with them. They gave a nice level height. Thanks for your help! 👍
Really looks like the tires will rub
Thanks for watching. No rubbing what so ever!!
Good video!
Thank you
I'm doing the same to my 2001 jeep grand Cherokee.
What black max shock did you use and how do they ride.
I would be using them on my daily driver weed with light off road. Thanks enjoyed the video and will be using it for my install .
I used the B8516 and B8544 for 2” - 3” lift. They ride a bit harsh in my opinion but good for my needs. I use it as a weekender or run about vehicle and it’s a pavement pounder. Thanks for watching!
Excellent,
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Would be nice to know how it drives before and after. Is there any rubbing?
Thanks for watching….there is no rubbing or adverse effects.
Looks great!! are you experiencing any Death Wobble ?
No death wobble. I replaced the steering stabilizer with one of the Moog heavy duty ones. However, i did it at night and was not able to do a video on it. Thanks for watching.
the rear spacers go under the springs, between the isolator and the spring cup on the rear end.
What did you do to the plastic trim as far as restoration? Thanks
I used a Cerakote product to restore and protect the trim. You can find it on Amazon. See this video:
Trim Restoration with Cerakote Trim Coat

Thanks for watching!!
This video gave me some peace of mind. I committed myself to buying a set of 265/75/16 tires off a family member and I had been worried they may not fit even with the budget boost. Did you have to do any trimming?
No trimming or rubbing....they work just fine!
Let's Talk!!! Rita Dinnoo thank you for the response! Are the 2.5 pucks from skyjacker as well or just the shocks?
How did the tires fit i jus bought 265/70/17 bouta order 3in front an rear.
@@haouws so I ended up getting a set of 245/75/16 and had to cut the front bumper. There is absolutely no way the 265s would have fit even with the 2.5 puck. Idk how people are getting them to tuck without rubbing but my guess is that they keep there Jeeps on blacktop. If you have luck with them without cutting I’d love to know what you did
Looks great
Thanks
Thank you
You know, if you had done both sides at the same time, the rear suspension would have dropped down enough for the springs to just fall off.
Good to know. Thanks for the tip!
What size tires did you go with ?
Any rubbing?
They are 265/70/16 on the original wheels with no rubbing. Thanks for watching
awesome!
Thanks
recently put in a budget boost kit myself however got a bit concerned with the fact that the rear spring doesn’t seem to have anything to grab on to, and the with the puck in place, it just sits on top kept in place with the weight of the car, is this normal? or could it pop out ?
I think the sway bat connectors and shocks should keep the springs from over extending and popping out. Make sure you seat the isolators back properly tho. Thanks for watching!
Pucks go on the bottom
This video is wrong. Spacer goes on bottom. You take the retainer off and put the spacer on then put the retainer on top of the spacer. Then re install the spring.
Are there any issues you have experienced in the past year with this?
The ride is a bit stiffer and i think i need a new track bar. Other than that it has been good so far. Thanks for watching!
Did you notice if the axle shifted to the side or not
No axle shift. The alignment was still almost perfect. If I had gone any higher than 2 inches I would have had to change the track bar for an adjustable one. Thanks for watching.
Are those disk brakes on the rear axle? How did you do that?
They come that way….with disc all around.
Did you get taller shocks?
Yes.
Can you please tell me where you got the kit I want to buy it for my 2003
The boost came from JGC Parts and the shocks came from SkyJacker Suspension. Thanks for watching!
I read somewhere that anything over a 3 inch budget boost is dangerous to drive on because springs may fall off. Any information on this subject would be appreciated.. By the way my vehicle is a 1998 Jeep ZJ... Thx.
This is only a 2” boost so I am not worried about the springs falling off. But that is correct. For such a lift you should use longer springs and shocks. Thanks for watching!
What brand of lift did you use?
It was “Kmool” off Amazon which is really a no name brand. I plan on replacing these with actual lift springs. Thanks for watching!!
When you were installing these JGC spacers do you remember if the front were actually taller than the rear by like 1/2”?
Wondering because I bought lift spacers from another brand that were supposed to be 2.5” front 2” rear and they’re all the same height (2.5”). Seems like I got the wrong ones for the rear?
The fronts were actually 1/2 taller than the rear. Thanks for watching!
Let's Talk!!! Rita Dinnoo Okay it sounds like I definitely got the wrong ones for the rear, thanks for your help!
Do you have any driveline vibration
None yet. All good and smooth so far.
And which one did you get
Budget Boost from JGC Parts.
How much for the whole kit
Shocks and BB cost about $500 in all.
Noooooo the back spacer goes on the bottom. You take the bottom retainer off then put the spacer and the retainer on top of the spacer. Learn what you’re doing before you make a how to video please
Thanks for watching!!
now you need bigger wheels
Do you still have this jeep. And how many mpg
I still have it. MPG is probably around 18 - 20 on the highway but I never really pay attention to it.
Mine has 250k and gets 18-20+ every day.
@@TheHappyLife-h7b
Did you ever swap the rear spacer to the bottom? I have to tow something this weekend and I'm thinking of finally installing mine just for this one tow.
Is the shocks in the link do they come in pairs or not?
The shocks came directly from Sky Jacker (skyjacker.com). They are sold individually ~$55 each. They have them for lifted or stock height.
