Thank You for the review. Please tell me if the tone arm has the capability for VTA adjustment at the base of the arm. This is my prime requirement for buying a turntable because I like to change cartridges frequently.
I'm a vinyl enthusiast and I live in Brazil. Here the information is very scarce. My intention is to listen to vinyl records and I currently have a Marantz PM8006 Amplifier, Elipson Prestige Facet 8B speakers and a Turnable AT-LP1240 with Ortofon 2m RED. I want to change my capsule, I wanted to buy an ortofon 2m black. However, I was unsure whether I should also change my AT-LP1240 since it is more aimed at DJs (I didn't really understand this at the time I bought it). My question is: Should I actually change the AT-LP1240? I thought about purchasing a Raga Planar 3 or Pro-ject RPM 3, or perhaps even a Pro-Ject 1Xpression. Is changing the record player really recommended? Should I really get another sound experience with better quality for my purpose? I already know the capsule is terrible and should at least go to an Ortofon 2m Silver! Thanks to anyone who can help!
7:29 thats a downer. considering that my setup is not the best and that the evo is 200 bucks cheaper makes me lean towards the regular evo. Thanks for your great insights though.
Great video, what do you recommend as an upgrade to the Pick It Pro MM cartridge ? It’s not clear if the pick it pro is similar to the silver. Could a blue stylus slide on or should one go up to the Bronze? Cheers
Thank you. That is a European model, but based on its price, the Blue would probably mate up to it, however we recommend you check with someone who has more knowledge on the makeup of the Pick It Pro. Thanks for watching
The Pick It Pro is basically an Ortofon Red but finetuned by Pro-Ject/Ortofon especially for the Debut Pro. You can indeed use an Ortofon Blue on this cartridge (nude Elliptical instead of the regular one the Red an Pick It Pro). If you want to use a Bronze you better also change the cartridge. It will fit the original cartridge but you'll never will get the full quality/advantage because of internal upgrades of the cartridge for the bronze (nude Fine line) / Black (Shibata) stylus.
@@davef4722 thank you Dave do you have experience with the blue/bronze/black as upgrades? Looking at either of those , Goldring or Nagaoka. Appreciate your help.
@@AudioAdvice thank you bought in Canada I think we also get the European models. Followed your video and didn’t realize different cartridges and the anti skate goes on the 3rd notch vs 2nd from memory kept falling off the second thought I was doing something wrong until I realized the carts were different. Great videos and channel.
Great video. Just curious but how would the Evo with an Acryl-It platter compare to the Pro? I bought my Evo back when it first released and was wondering if the acrylic platter is truly a worthwhile upgrade?
Thank you, there are other things you should do first, check out this video we did on the best upgrades for all Debut tables. Thanks for watching www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/upgrade-your-pro-ject-debut-series-turntable/
I have plenty of 45 and 33. It is more convenient to have a switch button. I do not like the manual belt change. are they both have an electronic change speed button?
It is an improvement for the EVO. We sold out of them before we were able to test with the new PRO. More are supposed to be here in December. Thanks for watching

Thanks Jeff. You were really smart to hang on to your vinyl. A few originals in good shape might pay for a great wet cleaning machine. Check out Discogs for pricing on used vinyl. This is a great cleaner. www.audioadvice.com/pro-ject-vinyl-cleaner-vc-e
I own the Pro Ject VC-E and it does one heck of a job cleaning vinyl, but if you are on a budget I recommend the Spin Clean manual record cleaner. It also does a very good job cleaning vinyl and costs much less.
A little puzzled as to why yours is not fitted with the Pick-it PRO cartridge, I thought that was specially designed for this table? Different markets perhaps?
@@AudioAdviceTBH you are lucky in the US as sumikos are so much better-if i was i might have gone with a project to get the cartridge not buy a different brand and then fit the sumiko cartridge

Get yourself a Technics sl-1500c sure the audiophile will tell you direct drive is inferior etc, curved tonearm whack. But I have tried all 3 through my Kef LS50W 2 and the Technics is just a better turntable, more robust, way more plug and play and removable headshell that takes pretty much anything (I use Goldring 1042) is just an absolute winner (the built in phono stage is even pretty damn good).
Every day a new upgrade is coming.. looks as it we we are saving money for their upgrades..why they do not make one final product because when they were building Carbon evo they all knew that they have the ability to make pro..
I bought my first EVO I was disappointed with this turntable first I don't like the anti skate and how the platter turns on without even moving the tone arm very small counter weight very lite unit bad hinges my Fluance RT 84 sounds so much better and cost less and a better stylus is on the Fluance.

Debut Carbon Evo is an embarrassing product, little more than a toy. Just a few months after the warranty expired, and used no more than 3 or 4 times a week, the motor started making a distinctly audible noise. This seems to be a common issue, as discussed on various forums. Pro-Ject is anything but pro.

The arm on the new Debut Pro is impressive. Thanks for watching
The Debut Carbon Evo is a really great table. I really appreciate this comparison. Now I gotta hear the new Pro. Thanks again, Leon!
