I've made several of these upgrades and plan on doing all of the ones you recommend as time goes by. So far I've done the acrylic platter, sub platter with upgraded belt and changed the Sumiko entry level stylus that came with the table with a Moonstone. The upgrades I've made so far have made a huge difference. An upgraded power supply cord arrives in a few days. The nice thing about the Sumiko Oyster series is the ability change the stylus by simply pulling it out and sliding in the replacement. Next will be the upgraded RCA cable and power box S-2. And of course vibration control.
You suggested the Acryl It and Clamp It upgrade and that's made a massive difference with my Debut Carbon. So much tighter and the bass is more accurate. I love how my Carbon, even though I've had it for a year and a half, continues to grow with me. Outstanding :D
I used to have some problems with a slight hum when playing records. I solved it with the acrylic platter and by attaching a wire from the spindle base to the ground screw. (I also posted this solution on Flickr a few years ago.)

Just woke up one morning and the left or right side was dead. Of course the cable was my last thought which resulted in me tearing apart the whole system the first time around.
Does the "high power it" suit the debut carbon with ac motor (2012 edition)? And with all due respect, prices in Europe are a little bit high now compared to the past. Thanks!
Can anyone let me know which Alu subplatter would fit for my end of production Pro-ject 1Xpression Carbon x DC ? I noticed there are 3 serial numbers, 1 for Debut, 1 for the Classic and 1 for X1/X2. Originally I thought I might need the one for X1/X2 but now I'm not so sure.
What are your interconnect cables are they 50 Ohms? ideally want 50 ohm cable and 50 ohm BNC silver Jacks and sockets, RCA generally is 75 Ohm and doesn't offer a very good connection. cable you want is an RG 50/u coaxial cable cheap and best to use solid core copper. One thing I can't get information is litz tonearm cable at 50 ohms do you make it you know who does And you really want to get the energy out of the main bearing this is done best with tungsten powder c80 ideally from buffalo tungsten powder, fill a squash ball with tungsten powder and superglue it to the plinth you can get tungsten powder for golf clubs I'm not sure what the oxygen and carbon is tho but c80 is one of the best. I haven't experimented with another tungsten powder formulas there's many to choose from but for mass c80 is one of the best
Platter bearing spindle and the bushing on the platter are different on 1.3 and 1 Carbon and the Acryl it for RPM 1 Carbon was made for the RPM 1 Carbon bearing design. Spindle diameters are the same, so it will physically fit, but on a technical level it doesn't work to the same effect as on the 1.3. To be honest, it is a small detail, if you enjoy it, keep enjoying it!

My Pro-Ject metal platter makes an audible scraping noise when playing any LP - It is a flaw in the design and my other turntables do not have this issue - matt does not fix it and neither does a sound dampener below the TT or a clamp as it is the grind of the metal platter that is the cause...sounds like a can opener - not really a good audio experience

It is very nice and godhearted man giving all these different possibilities to chose from and spend money in the hope getting better sound. But some upgrades this company(not mentioned in this video) are only nesecry because of bad design in the first place.
I tried the power supply upgrade and it only added hum whenever I start up the platter. The hum gets louder as I turn the volume up. Only way to get rid of the hum is to disconnect ground wire from my turntable to the phono preamp, or put the stock wall wart back. I put the stock wall wart back.
In this case you introduced a ground loop, as the upgrade High Power it is fully grounded but the stock one isn't! Can happen if more than one device have a fully grounded power plug!

It is difficult to buy products in Korea.
I bought it in Germany, UK and USA.
Its minimalist design fits well anywhere.
I love it.
Even more difficult/ next to impossible to buy the products in India.
Hi, does upgraded aluminum subplatter fit music hall 7.3?
does the acrylic platter fits all of your turntable line?
I've got the Debut III S Audiophile
Yes, the Acryl it also fits on the Debut III S Audiophile.
Does the clamp-it work to flatten slightly warped records so the needle tracks smoothly?
Absolutely
It also stabilises your vinyl and helps control vibration and resonance!
Mr. Lichtenegger just wants your best.
He wants your money.
He’s laughing all the way to the bank with these mostly pointless upgrades for his flimsy turntables.
I had a debut 3.tried cork Matt and upgrade. Reduced rumble.. but still there. Bought technics 1200. No rumble and better sound. Problem solved.
Yes those are great, my 1200G is basically free of rumble too.
I measured the rumble at -72dB, which is the noise floor of the test record itself.
Very good tautorial video :-)
Sub-platter upgrade for project x2? Debut alu Sub-Plater or The Classic Evo Sub-Platter? Thanks
An upgrade sub platter for the X2 is not available at the moment.
Ist der Alu Sub Platter ausverkauft? Den gibt es nirgends mehr zu bestellen.
Der Sub Platter wird in den nächsten Wochen erhältlich sein.
Does the acryl it need to be used with a mat since my pro-ject debut evo doesn’t have vta adjustment?
Acrylic platters don't generally need to be used with a mat
What are your interconnect cables are they 50 Ohms? ideally want 50 ohm cable and 50 ohm BNC silver Jacks and sockets, RCA generally is 75 Ohm and doesn't offer a very good connection. cable you want is an RG 50/u coaxial cable cheap and best to use solid core copper.
One thing I can't get information is litz tonearm cable at 50 ohms do you make it you know who does
And you really want to get the energy out of the main bearing this is done best with tungsten powder c80 ideally from buffalo tungsten powder, fill a squash ball with tungsten powder and superglue it to the plinth you can get tungsten powder for golf clubs I'm not sure what the oxygen and carbon is tho but c80 is one of the best. I haven't experimented with another tungsten powder formulas there's many to choose from but for mass c80 is one of the best
Can I put a acrylic platter in my rpm 1.3 genie?
Unfortunately not supported.
@@Projectaudiosystems Well, I just did and it works perfect! Why do you state that its not supported?
Platter bearing spindle and the bushing on the platter are different on 1.3 and 1 Carbon and the Acryl it for RPM 1 Carbon was made for the RPM 1 Carbon bearing design. Spindle diameters are the same, so it will physically fit, but on a technical level it doesn't work to the same effect as on the 1.3. To be honest, it is a small detail, if you enjoy it, keep enjoying it!
@@Projectaudiosystems yes I know but there is difference, I bought my acryl platter is not from Pro-ject, is from a German Company who make this platters, it is working very good but thanks anyway for the technical support!
Guten Tag
Gibts das auch auf Deutsch?
How do I connect my RPM 10 Carbon to the Power Box Uni? I was told this was the best option as a power supply but they have different plugs. The motor has an AC15v 1 pin style and the Power Box has a 3 pin mini XLR. No dealer was able to help me. Please help me @Pro-Ject. Thanks Enrico a loyal customer in Italy
Your RPM 10 Carbon should have a 15V DC input. If you want to power your turntable you need the Power Box Uni 1-way TT with the 15V output. A fitting cable is in the box.
@@Projectaudiosystems I purchased the 4-way because the dealers all said the 1-way was discontinued and in the box there was no such cable.
@@Projectaudiosystems can you please email me so we can communicate about this please. Puroplatino@aol.com
What mat on an acrylic platter?
You don't need a mat on an acrylic platter :)
Do you recommend not using a turntable mat if an acrylic platter is fitted?
Definitely don't use a mat. The whole advantage is the direct contact with the platter. A Clamp It really helps 😃

Please When the alu sub-platter Will be available in shops ?
Will be available in the following weeks.
Just got this turntable today with a good hifi all for 230 uk £ best cheers byy but high rnd hi fi I ever bought all 2 amps are maranz cd play same with usb and streamer lg cd player streamer and speakers and this turntable for 230
Awesome!
It is very nice and godhearted man giving all these different possibilities to chose from and spend money in the hope getting better sound. But some upgrades this company(not mentioned in this video) are only nesecry because of bad design in the first place.
Correct.
1000 dollars worth of upgrades
The Pick it 2MM comes on the Pro Ject T2, is the stylus upgradable? (such as with the red to blue, bronze to black Line?
That collar though...
@@Projectaudiosystems so is it ok to not connect the ground wire since its already grounded?
the best upgrade would be to get a brand other than Project
Interesting that you watch & comment our video anyway, although you don't seem to be a fan of us :)
