Hey Steve… is there a way I can open the sliding door of my 2021 Toyota Sienna LE model without putting the car on park. That is when it is in gear. I could disable it on my 2011 Toyota Sienna.
We have a 2022 sienna limited, is there a setting to allow power doors to open when in Neutral, or always have to be in park?

Hi Steven, There're a few owner of the 2021 Sienna on chat Sienna chat forum mention that when the side door left open for long period of time like over 1 hour, the power function does not work when closing. You have the close it manually like to reset it for it to work again. Can you give it a try and see if this is true and if it's true why? The rear hatch works fine if left open for long period. Is there a setting for this or something? Thinking of situation like when camping and left the doors open to unload or loading. Thanks
It would make sense, kind of the way the dome light will shut off if left on. I will look for a answer for you
Do the sliding doors and back door have sensors in case a pet or child get in the way when its closing.? I put my hand in front of the side sliding door and it does not stop until it makes contact with my hand and then I had to use some force to get it to stop. I turned off the automatic door switch and I could no way open or close the doors manually. I have a 2021 Seinna Limited. I inherited this vehicle and will have to trade it in for something else if I have to worry about one of my three little dogs or my grandchildren getting crushed in the automatic doors. Please tell me there is a way to prevent this....thank you

Best video out there for sienna owners with door problems! I have 22 XLE sienna, the PBD doesn’t open. It does open sometimes if I push down on it when pushing the button but rarely and now it doesn’t open at all. It beeps and I hear the clicking and the pneumatics kick in to check the seal of the door but just won’t open. It’s like the reserve of when it won’t close. I turned off and on all the electronic settings, kick sensor etc, nothing. This started few weeks ago the day after I had my rear windshield replaced due to break in. Any ideas? I’m just out of warranty 37k miles😂

@@stevenwelchtoyota thank you for quick reply, it won't even open. i think it's something to do with the power lock, i can hear the normal noises but it just will not open.
Ok got it checked at dealership it’s a bigger issue, the entire hatchback was out of alignment, most likely damage from the break in and is being handled by Insurance and body shop. Thanks for your videos and thanks for your quick responses!!!

Is there a way to stop the sliding doors from dinging when open? We want to be able to have them open while driving slow thru parks to be able to photograph.

Also unrelated to locks..... is there a compass anywhere if you don’t have the navigation pkg? It is not on the rear view mirror. Only garage door opener there.

from the factory they lock when going into gear but you can set it to lock by speed
When traveling with a canine it would be better to turn off the power open and close doors switch to keep them from jumping out ahead of time

@@stevenwelchtoyota nope. After driving and putting car in park. The doors lock. And the button on top of car to power the side door open doesn’t work until I unlock the doors .
So right now for some reason, doors are Locking when in park.

Wouldent it be dandgrous to be able to put ur foot under the car would u still be able to open it with ur foot if it’s not unlocked
It's safe. It will unlock then open as long as you have the key within 3 feet

@@dfenn21 it has never had that option for the 2nd row that is a patented thing from Chrysler you are thinking of. The old sienna had the ability to remove the 2nd row
