    The C-130 airframe is just such a gem, rugged, versatile, just a great aircraft no matter what it is configured for.

    I was Based in Antarctica in 1989 to 1991. The Navy was the main group flying the LC-130 s back then. VXE-6 Antartic Devron 6. It was a very interesting assignment. I lived there in McMurdo in a barracks.

    What about the plane????????

    • @nobody6546
      @nobody6546 7 місяців тому

      👍🏽But don’t worry John- I’m sure when. You buy one they throw in an OPERATING MANUEL besides the 3yr Limited Warranty. Me?- Think I’ve already seen Multiple of : Abram’s, Viper Copter, Black Bird, WartHog A-10s; kind of actually appreciate watching on the Brave Military & Challenges they face and Must Overcome. God Bless. NRN. 👴🏽NoBody. ( PS- the ARTIC? ANTARCTIC? Being Extremely Cold/ Hostile/ Deadly??- My 1st Wife could Freeze Water at 50’ with just a Glance. Advice?- Use Coasters.. Put the Seat Down..).

    How does this airplane land on regular runway with skis on?

    • @davecarnevale8017
      @davecarnevale8017 5 місяців тому

      The regular landing gear still goes up and down, the skis are fixed. While static on the ice they actually put the gear down to lift the skis, helping prevent them from freezing to the surface.

    Sorry no trees in Antarctica. Unless they grew after Winter Over 1969. You need to check your sources.

      A long time ago there were indeed trees. The b roll footage from the plane could be anywhere . Probably Alaska. Still though tells the story well in my opinion

    👍🏽🏆👍🏽! I tried to put a deposit on a Used C-130 Just like this one! But the Gov’t Nixed it. Seems I CAN’T mount just a FEW 1,200rd per second/ 120mm Gatling Gun on it. Plus - John Kerry outbid me or birthing at Boston 🛩️… his FAMILY was expecting their new “ Swift Boat with Wings “ A830. God Bless. NRN. 👴🏽NoBody. ( Actually I should have known. Especially when they wouldn’t let me buy any Depleted-Uranium Tipped Ammo for my used Abram’s 1-A. …. AIRBORNE DADDY GONNA TAKE A LITTLE TRIP…
