Peter Pan is actually a villain in the original story! I looked it up! Although if they were to make a movie of the original story which has Pan as a villain with Robbie that would be so good and epic!!! Would love that!!!
This was always the most heinous part of Once Upon a Time. Robin Williams as Peter Pan in Hook (1991) and Finding Neverland (2004) are some of my all time favorite movies. One is a guy who has to reclaim his youthful spirit and the other is a man who discovers a kid (Peter Llewelyn Davies) who has no imagination, because of the loss of his father, he tries to mature to quickly and he (James Matthew Barrie) finds a way to help him. If you, have any love for this films, when you come across this interpretation, you don't exactly take it to welcomingly. Those two stories are magic. Just beautiful, beautifully told, beautifully written. There's this sadness about that, because they are about your childhood has to come to an end. And both of them capture that perfectly, and you associate the story of Peter Pan in that way. This Once Upon a Time version of Peter Pan is just, NOT even remotely that at all. It really is how Superman fans felt about Man of Steel (2013). That Clark Kent was so off model.
u do realise that this is (arguably) the *most* accurate version of peter pan out of all three of those iterations, right? the whole point of pan's character is to demonstrate how a refusal to grow and mature often is the pipeline to selfishness and malevolence. in the original source material, by the time wendy meets him he's been so consumed w his self-serving nature and disdain for maturity that he's essentially morphed into a controlling dictator. if anything, the OUAT version seems tame by comparison. he reads as sociopathic in nature and even goes as far to ritually kill off the lost boys for showing signs of aging. this version of peter pan isnt him being "off model"; its the 1953, 1991 and 2004 ones altering his characterisation
0:34 that teleportation was so great. I've always loved it
I also love that teleportation, but if I put killians on, I think I would have jumped out of my skin and he doesn't even flinch 😂😂
The fact that James and Peter were best friends in the original book makes everything so much more intense.

woah Peter! that's a little dark, even for you
agree

You gotta read the original book. Peter is evil.
