    There’s a bunch of us older folks out there doing our thing privately! Love that we can come out and say we told you so! Putting cannabis on the level of heroin is unscientific and in my opinion just a way to put innocent people in jail!

    I think it's so sweet of you to give us the recipes of all your delights, thank you so much! To keep the candy dry, it's a good idea to wipe the water off the bottom of the pan after dipping into the cold water to stop it from cooking. Thank again!

      L W I’m a cool aunt! Been doing canna butter for 10 years. Helps me sleep. I found the younger gen very stuff about cannabis. Gate way drug etc. The movement behind demonizing cannabis was very effective! No one gives you a side eye when you say you cud use a strong drink but try saying you need a few vape hits! Even educated liberals snicker like you’re naughty! Being naughty/seeking pleasure is not a crime!

    Hi!! I decided to try these. They are delicious. I used a whole cup of canna butter and you can't taste it. I couldn't get the light syrup but you're right the regular worked fine. I made 2 mistakes. Instead of pouring it on to parchment paper I used wax paper. It kind of melted in to the candy. Also I wanted to make it soft but i bumped my thermometer around and i noticed the temp going down. So in the end I cooked it so much it's like that Macintosh Toffee you can buy. So delicious though omg.

    Funny thing to make you laugh... Thought I was a pro making this few times. Only this time forgot the sweet and condensed milk and wondered why temp shot up to max on candy thermometer. As you would guess it burned... Made again came out fine. Good thing I stockpile cannabutter in my freezer. Thanks for all that you do

    Have to say....I made these for my Man a combat Veteran of 30 years and some of his combat Veteran brothers that have PTSD and used a strain for their anxiety. They were a hit!! Not only because of the medicinal values, however they [taste great!!!] It is hard to mask the taste and for many I know that have prescription’s it is the reason they don’t take as often as they should. Smoking it is hard for many Veterans because of damage to their lungs, after years of being exposed to harmful airborne chemical’s Edibles and oils are their only option so thank you.... you are helping people in a way that you didn’t even know.

    i made this recipe and it turned out great ! only issue i had was with the Carmel sticking to the waxed paper . i got online and read several different ways to release the candy from the paper . i set the candy in the freezer for several mins. i got a wet rag stuck in the microwave for about 45 seconds until it was hot . i laid the rag on the back of the paper and set a flat pan on top to trap in the heat and moisture . as the paper gets warm and moist the paper will release from the candy . it saved my candy from what would of been otherwise a loss . next time i will try parchment paper but who knows that might do the same . =] either way if your candy gets stuck the hot wet rag works ! PS , Liz , thanks for all that you do to show us how this is done . the knowledge base is AMAZING thanks again for sharing with us ! i will keep cooking and keep learning . thanks for the inspirations and how to videos . . please keep them coming .

    I've done this awesome recipe several times, about to make my 5th batch now. I would recommend for heads who smoke at least a gram a day, go with 3/4 cannabutter and 1/4 butter and make your pieces no larger than an inch (or get a mould). Otherwise you wont feel much of anything without eating a bunch of candy.

      Thanks for that tip L W. 👍🏻 I've still to try making this. Can I ask what type of butter you use to make your canna butter? Some say ghee is best, others say unsalted butter.. I don't know if any coconut oil or cacao oil could even be used for this ? I'm a curious cat who hasn't experimented much with cooking canna yet, but now I must.
      Any tips be handy! Like how much is 1 cup? 🤯 How much weed before decarb. do you put in per lb of butter? I'm on a small budget in a place where it's not easy or legal to find good bud. I bet you would be shocked what I pay for an oz. 🙀 Then again, I have no idea about costs over in USA or Canada. 🌏 Happy cooking! 🐱♏🌌☮💕🎵

      @@suzycat2026 Suzy suzy suzy! We infuse our our butter with MCT coconut oil. So we make a tincture first of the usual mixture of cannabis to mct oil (same as you would do for butter), then after 4-5hrs of letting that sit at 195F-205F on an induction plate in a French Press (we have a Butter Brewer, and a Mighty Infuser, each item has different best uses). I then melt the butter down in the French Press (small area and easy to drain the fat from) use a 100ml syringe and remove the fat (usually about 120mm) and then replace it 1:1 with your tincture. If you brew a 500mg tincture, and infuse 300ml of butter oil with 120ml of that tincture , you butter will have a strength of 200mg per tablespoon. This method renders a butter with a very high transport rate into the bloodstream with the MCT Oil, and it removes the heavy cannabis taste some do not enjoy. This is what I make for our patients @ $10-15 per stick. Its not for a profit its for medicinal or getting donkey kicked. 1 Oz of flower to 1 pound of butter. If you make it this traditional style, just get a 25 micron screen on amazon here: amzn.to/2Ilac3y - I use these to get out all the particles. Good luck and have fun!

    How well does that funnel work? I'd love to be able to squirt the caramel into silicone molds. Now I'm using a silicone 9x13 pan for the recipe I use. It has a plastic ring to keep it rectangular but you have to use a cutting board or something stiff on the bottom to pick it up. Comes out in a perfect glass smooth 9x13 slab. Saves on buying parchment paper too. I also have a metal cookie cutter grid that I use to cut perfect 1" squares. I just use it to mark it. You still have to finish the cut with a thin blade/cutter. You cooked the caramel to 237 to get that consistency for the funnel? I've been doing 238. I wonder if I could fill 100 molds like that before it cools off and thickens up too much for the funnel.

    Ok. So quick question, I have a feeling I know the answer to already..lol.
    I made first batch of cannabutter, in magic butter machine with ghee (clarified butter) instead of regular butter, and used older dried up material that couldn't smoke for a good long while, or use at all.
    Anyways, came out smelling and tasting like strong infusion.
    Used it to make these caramels and some brownies. But in the caramel I did 1/2 cannabutter, and 1/2 normal butter.
    But came out tasting very strong.
    Haven't cut either up yet, but probably going to cut in super small pieces.
    The question part of all that, did making with ghee(clarified butter), make infusion more potent/stronger? Used soy lecithin too.
    I just don't want to make anyone get sick by having them try too big of pieces.
    Thanks and love your videos, although voice is super quite compared to music. So have to crank volume to hear you, and rapidly decrease volume for ads or music. But I have softer voice too, so I get it.

    The caramel stays very hot far a while after taking it off of the heat. So if your arm gets tired, just take it off the heat for a few minutes and give your arm a rest.

    Kief infused Ghee is a far superior product to use in edibles.. if you can generate a good amount. :-) It tends to have a much cleaner flavor since you are eliminating the plant by product flavor.

    • @DiamondDelightEdibles
      @DiamondDelightEdibles  4 роки тому +1

      No, when you combine thc with butter the thc takes on the smoke point of the butter. Normally, without using any butter you could not heat about 240F

    Can I use a combination of canna coconut oil and regular butte?

    • @DiamondDelightEdibles
      @DiamondDelightEdibles  5 років тому +2

      I think it should be OK. I don't really use coconut oil so it's hard for me to say for certain. I always recommend doing a test batch with plain coconut oil first.

    Thanx for the great instructional videos. I made this caramel recipe and they turned out great! How do you gauge how many mg of THC is in each piece of caramel?

    Liz, have you made the Xmas crack candy? Made 1st time last yr, thought about how I could stop much of the crackers becoming soaked w/canna butter and or separating from the brown sugar, I just tried using guar gum in c butter before adding brown sugar, 😝 disaster it burnt and still separated from sugar any suggestions, thank you, I did look for an answer before bothering...
