It's the same as butter. If you add one ounce of cannabis to the tincture, you start with 28,000 mg then multiply it by the cannabis THC content, let's say 20%. 28000mg becomes 5600mg. if you've made 2 cups of tincture, that's 32 tablespoons. Divide the 5600mg by 32 and you get 175mg per tablespoon of tincture. Dose accordingly. Hope that helps.

@@DiamondDelightEdibles Because you're ingesting it without a lot of food or other ingredients acting as a buffer. The release is much slower with food. Also, it starts getting absorbed directly through the mucous membrane in the mouth, not just the digestive system, so you feel it more quickly. I make cannabis breath sprays that work in under 15 minutes.

That is great to hear. One recommendation, keep the over door slightly open, it helps with dehydrating plus the alcohol vapors can't collect, there should always be air circulation.
Door open is to keep you from blowing up, it has nothing at all to do with temp or time. You keep your door closed with an alcohol based tincture, you run the risk of setting your house on fire.

I’m just trying this. I used 3 cups of sugar to 1 cup of tincture and am letting it air dry. It takes a lot longer to dry, probably at least 24 hours, but I don’t have to worry about exploding my house. Edit: I let it air dry for 24 hours. It turned out great. I also made your canna syrup & some canna cream cheese mints. For the mints, I powdered 1 c. of canna sugar to mix with the powdered sugar. Then coated them in canna sugar to dry.

I have to tell you I just made my first batch of tincture last night AND then cannasugar this am! I have the Levo 2 and the magical butter maker. So I decarbed in Levo 2 but I felt like it cooked a little too much my tincture was more brown than green (but could have been my flower?) as you know the Levo has a preset for decarb so I'm not sure how it's gonna taste but it's done- WOO HOO. Anyhoo, I am obsessed with your videos and cannot THANK YOU enough. I make all of my edibles with following your recipes and videos. I don't know where I'd be without you! HUGE PROPS!

THC bonds to sugar molecule chains as easily as it bonds to fats. That’s why this (and the corn syrup theory) work. I have also infused vegetable glycerin and use that as my primary THC source when making gummies. I can’t wait to try this sugar.
Hi Liz. I just made canasugar in my dehydrator. Max temp on dehydrator is 155F so I thought it would take longer but it was done in under 2 hours. I did your hand trick and it wasn’t cold after 1 1/2 hours so I went one more run of 15 minutes and....voila! Note: I live near Ottawa so I went to the Quebec side and bought some 94% alcool for $66. Did the 8 hour tincture run for maximum potency in the magical butter machine for tincture. I can’t wait to do my next batch of gummies!!

To figure the dosage of the tincture. Take THC content of the herb. Take the weight of the herb used. That gives you the total mg of the medicine in the tincture. After filtering tincture, measure tincture by volume or weight. Then you can figure milligrams of medicine for dosage. Remember too many edibles can be fixed quickly with CBD. When I get too much, I take a couple of vapes of CBD. Then in five minutes, all is better. Then I have great high and pain free for 6 to 8 hours.
I have followed her to a t and its always good. My sons will ask me to make them some for their bday gift. lol
I stir mine every 15 to 20 mins I bake it. It is important to not close the oven all the way as well

I'm making another batch that's concentrated tincture it started out as 3 quarts of tincture and I cooked it down outside of course to one quart. Very dark and very potent Plus it did not clump like the regular tincture does

I made my can of sugar last night from your recipe hunt I want to thank you so very very much from the bottom of my heart it was really easy to do even with a gas stove what I did was I would bring the stove to temperature and then turn it off and put it in the oven for 15 minutes pull it out mix it up and why I was stirring it up on the outside of the top I had turn the stove back on behind me and let it come back to temperature while I stirred the sugar then turn the stove back off when it came to temperature stuck the pan back into the stove for 15 minutes and repeated this process until it was done yes it took a little longer because I had a gas stove and had to do that but it's still work just as fine thank you very much I really appreciate it enjoy your day God be with you
Liz, thank you for this video, nice lady!! I found an unfortunate recipe that said to dissolve all the sugar in water, add that to the tincture, then evaporate. Let's just say that it never turned back into sugar and the entire batch was wasted. It was a quarter ounce that I got on sale, but still, $60 to me is a lot of money. I have a batch drying now in the oven done your way. I really appreciate this and your other videos. Will use your referral links when I buy a machine. :)

For my tinctures, I use a 750 ml bottle of Everclear. Since I live in a legal state I shop at a dispensary which has the potency on the label. I use 1 oz of flower which is 28 grams. My latest batch was Purple Indica with a potency of 19.27% thc before decarboxilating. 19.27 x 100 is 1927 per gram. 1927 x 28 grams is 53,956. When you decarb you multiply by .88 to get the amount of mg of thc. 53,956 x .88 = 47,481.28 grams of thc will be in my 750 ml bottle of green dragon. Since it's so concentrated, in the end, I end up with 227 mg per oz of green dragon. It's a shit ton of math but since I am all for accurate dosages in my products I take the time to work it out.

I just wanted to say I use the plant products after I also am in the states so I can use 190everclear been doing this for about 15 years using the magic butter machine this is my 2nd one. Tincture is definitely the way to go. I use it in salve all the way to ingesting it and my PTSD and anxiety has become less I also have copd so smoking is out
Figure I'd share my experience. Made 1 cup as a test. Wanted to see how my oven works. One thing to note for those who ended up with burnt sugar, use middle rack. Because some ovens (like my GE) alternate between the bake and broil elements (67 seconds bake, 2 seconds off, 17 seconds broil, 2 seconds off). The broil element (the one on the top) might be hitting your sugar a bit too hard, that's why I used middle rack. I switched to 10 minute cycles after the first 15 min cycle as I noticed little brown globes appearing. Also set oven at 190 degrees. Switched to using a metal spatula from silicone after first cycle. It is great at scraping the dried sugar and crushing the chunks. Overall smells as if I'm slowly drying hay. Ovens can cycle +/- 30 degrees while operating.

I use a sifter and spatula. Super easy and I get a very consistant grain.
You can also use food grade glycerin for tincture, works extremely well in sugar candies or drinks. Mainly for sweet products as glycerine is sweet

And don't let your parchment paper catch fire inside the oven that causes the explosion and sugar to be thrown all over the walls, ceiling, and neighbor that just walked into the kitchen as the oven door flew open in a loud firey explosion. Talk about hells kitchen
If your parchment paper is starting on fire you're running it too hot. Also if you're using a toaster oven. Don't.

Thank you. Glycerin and alcohol are not the same at all. I know glycerin is called a tincture but a tincture is alcohol based only. Glycerin tincture is an infusion just like butter or oil.
You can easily get 95% over in Quebec, no questions asked in their liquor stores.
I’m also in Ontario, and next time I’m going there I can grab you a bottle 😉. The higher % the better, as you can achieve very high strength edibles with almost no taste.

Many states in the US you can’t get 99% alcohol. I’ll try vodka. I use tincture medical cannabis, it’s mostly CBD because that’s all the dispensary had when I went the other day. It was expensive. There is THC in it, but it’s low dose. Plus it was $90 for 30ml.

Making my sugar now. Started with a bit over two cups of sugar and one cup of tincture. After the first 15 minutes I added 4 more tablespoons of sugar. After a half I added another 4 more tablespoons of sugar.
I use 4 cups of sugar to 3/4 to a cup of tincture. Your sugar will be very strong.

Try Lecithen when combining corn syrup and rhc it should intigrate so you'll notice the difference
1. You would do well with a tcheck to calculate your THC with original tinctures, oils and butter.
2. To remove chlorophyll, set alcohol tincture in bright sunshine for 1 hour. It's not a professional job but it does work pretty good and helps with taste in the end 😁

With thc being oil soluble and following your train of thought about why you think its not mixing in corn syrup, isnt that the same as using the canna sugar in water to make the syrup? I wanted to ask in your syrup video if you used an emulsifier since the oil was separating and sticking to the side of the pot.

Oh never mind, just saw in your other comment you are from the UK. You need at least 76% alcohol which is 151 proof I believe. Vodka is the best. I'm not sure if you can get Spirytus, it's from Poland.
