I've not worn a watch for 20+ years and have no interest in them at all, and yet here I am watching Nick review watches because it's Nick and his methodology is always interesting. Kudos, dude.
You can never go wrong with an Omega. I worked at a watch/clock repair shop in the 80's, and the master watchmaker always recommended the mechanical movement of Omega (over any other watch).
I would keep my pre ceramic 1999 Omega Seamaster. When my wife gave me this watch (because it was like James Bond’s) I really didn’t know much about luxury watches. I wore it everyday whether working on aircraft or working out. 12 years later the band was scratched up and it started to loose time. After some research I sent it in for servicing. It came back looking brand new and calibrated to amazing accuracy. One day my son will inherit the watch and it could be his one watch also.
@@SuperPeleke Yeh, my take for The One will be Hamilton Khacki, but Im not gonna buy them, corse why do I need any other watches then? Life is complicated. "Dont go into watches!" :)
Shabazz, you are a character. (in a good way) You make this 70 year old smile and laugh while delivering some pretty damn good info. And, you also have a unique demeanor in your approach to life. Kudos!!!!
I had the urge to buy Seamasters in early 2000s. Ended up getting a good deal on a rare Oris diving watch. Bought another one in black. I always got tired of having to set the correct time. One day my watch band came loose unexpectedly while I was wearing it, and fell to the ground at work. I had enough and sold all my manual watches and ended up getting a rare $600 Casio Protrek, and it's been the best decision in my whole watch career. Never an issue. Time is crazy accurate. Have temp, barometer, altimeter, timers, stopwatch, etc.. it looks like a regular watch and the digital part is on the low j which is what I was looking for). It's an excellent excellent watch unlike the junk watches I've owned in the past (ie Bulavas lol) If I ever do decide to try another high end diver - it would be Seamaster Planet Ocean 👍
I am amazed - I had it in completely the reverse order! I only have one watch - the Lorus Titanium RXD425L8 which gains six seconds per month and has a 100m depth rating. It cost £45 from Amazon. After the canvas strap got tatty I replaced it with an excellent black mesh strap which cost me £6.99, also from Amazon. The strap can be adjusted in about fifteen seconds with not too much effort. If I won the lottery I don't think I would change anything - it is the best watch I ever owned and probably the cheapest! By the way, I also only carry an Opinel knife. All pure simplicity, economy and functionality.
Thank you Nick. For the little that it's worth I came to the same conclusion for the simple reason that if you have screwdrivers, solvent and oil you've got a working watch for life. Had the other Omega been mechanical that would have got the nod. The only point of divergence is that the Breitling would've been tossed off the cliff with no hesitation whatsoever at the outset. Omega seems to me one of the best options available for long term service because of the well-established reputation for durability and ease of maintenance.
Only 1 watch, Casio Men's G-Shock GW6900-1 Tough Solar Sport Watch, hand down. It was my every day, day in and day out watch until i got my fitbit. If it had steps and a HR monitor i would still be wearing it. If i could only choose 1, it would be the g-shock, no question.
I figured it would be one of the Omega watches.I think would be happy with an Omega as my only watch as well. I'm saving up for one of the new Aqua Terra 150M models.
It's easy to get into watches without breaking the bank. I've had a nice little collection of sub thousand dollar watches for years. Just keep selling and buying what I'm interested in and it works out great. I'm dead even if not in the green on buys/sells.
Good for you for admiring the James Bond factor. I have a seamster professional also, and I would be lying if I said James Bond didn’t enter my head on occasion while wearing it. Also, great choice in one watch. That omega seamaster really could be the answer forever. And you also got a perfect dress watch to pair with it. All basics covered.

I have the same watch, the version before yours, in blue. Great choice, great watch, great moovement. It also has the G. Daniels escape lever, wich is arguably the greatest inovation in watchmaking recently.
After amassing a significant collection over 20 years, I purged the vast majority and landed on a Hulk. It's been on my wrist for 2 years with just a smattering of wear from the other 3 watches in my collection. The green isn't for everyone, but a Sub-C is just a great all around watch. It's easy to see why you landed on your Omega SMP as it's a very similar piece.
i prefer to keep "none" watches, and I find it quite enjoyable, lol. Even forty years ago, when watches were actually common appliances, I kept "none" on hand at all times, and found that number adequate -- even preferable.
I bought my "the one" today in the form of a Tudor Black Bay Red. Really happy :) It's gonna be a month or so before the rest of my collection gets wrist time again, other than for work etc.
Sleek, slim, light, and elegant...with a leather band (consistent with the 'light'). My simple, inexpensive, 'gold' rimmed Timex fills the bill..and keeps on tickin'...forever! Of course, having retired...I almost never wear a watch..anymore :)
Love your choice... Of all the watches you have, that one would be my choice... However... (There always has to be a "however")... My cheap G-SHOCK GA100 camo has been through a lot of crap over the last 3 years... Best watch I've ever owned... The thing is bullet proof and still looks relatively unscathed... Which is pretty impressive when you consider all the plates, glasses (face and drinking), bones, cars, etc. that I have broken since I bought it... Plus it's camo so I practically disappear when I wear it... Like a suburban ninja...
Nick, if the newer Oceanus T200 you reviewed was on the table, do you think it would have won? The radio signal scare is always something to be nervous about, but Oceanus watches use bluetooth too now
Loved this video! You have such a unique presentation style that's not short on humour. I like your choice, by the way, You said that you have a hard time taking it off your wrist and that is very telling. I too have a Seamaster that's much older than yours but definitely a favourite . Although I have a Spring Drive GMT & a Tudor Black Bay, I have trouble removing my Seiko Prospex Turtle Pepsi from my wrist as it keeps really good time for a basic 4R36 movement. Go figure!
Of the watches you own, I would also choose the seamaster pro 300. I think it or the Tudor Pelagos are the best obtainable one watch options. If I could have any one watch it would be a Lange 1 or Zeitwerk Date.
From your collection I would keep the Aqua terra. I think the ideal combination of a sports and dress watch. From mine, I would keep my latest, wich is a Seiko SRPB43j Cocktail time. It’s dressy, but could be sporty on a nato
I am loving my Omega Seamaster Professional 300m with the silver dial. I look forward to buying the Omega Planet Ocean Olympic 2020 limited edition watch. These are the very best from Omega with the in house movements of 15,000 gauss anti magnetic. And the looks of it, the more you wear it, the more you fell in love with it. Very good review. As for my Timex keeping accurate time, well the trick is about every 6 months I undergo a procedure to correct it. A MECHANICAL?!?!?!?!? I didn't see that coming.
IMHO, all “luxury” sports watches should come with a quick adjustable clasp. To not come with one is just pure laziness and cheap by the watchmaker.
My favorite watch is a Shabazz, made in-house.
My favorite is the all titanium Aerospace.
The seamaster is superior. On a black thick leatherstrap, its beauty
Of YOUR watches, my choice would be the AT for a good everyday look and the quartz movement. Of mine? Nope, can't do it.
Debating between the Omega SMP and the Monta Oceanking. Since you reviewed both, but kept the Omega, can you tell me a little about why?
The Omega is just a bit more polished and designed, and has a soft spot in my heart.
@@NickShabazz thanks so much! Super appreciate your reviews
Really awesome more reviews video!!!
can anyone tell me what strap he has on the Citizen?
Mine would be the Tudor North Flag.
Batman, it's in the details!
My Globemaster Omega Co‑Axial Master Chronometer would be my one and only. Even though the G-Shock gets more wrist time since I wear it for beating around where the Globemaster might be at risk of damage.
The Globemaster is beautiful
For me it would have to be the Seamaster and it wouldn’t be remotely close.
900 is crazy for a watch. 400 can represent good value for a mid tech knife.
You should learn more about watches. They are insanely complex.
in your 5 there, ill take the Casio oceanus, thanks!
I feel blessed in 1969 I bought a new 1675 Rolex GMT Master and I still have it. Best investment I've ever made. Paid $265.00 you do the math.
Pics?
You get used to a heavy watch real quick even a 36 datejust is a heavy watch when I tried my doctors I was surprised.
Make your own atomic radio signal. Also. There’s only one omega worth a darn. And it’s called the man on the moon!
For me, the Seiko SARB017, the Alpinist....
38 mm, 200m water, sapphire crystal. My school colors were green and gold.
An explorer field watch that can be dressed up or down.
Are you a bracelet kinda guy? Notice that your collection consists of only bracelets. I prefer metal always because you don’t get a stinky wrist or that weird grimy feeling under your brand! Just curious 🤨!
Considering a Citizen Chandler. Anyone have one? Opinions?
You can’t go wrong with citizen. Id spring for the chronograph. The citizen AR2.0 is great too. Looks beautiful on leather.
It’s on my want list!
