F.P. Journe is one of the greatest independent watch brands of all time (we think it's safe to say that at this point). Their watches are striking, the cases innovative, at the time...is correct. So, what could possibly happening to this golden child of a brand? Find out today on this episode of HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!
You also! Thank you
Let’s all try to appreciate the arts created by the artist, FPJ but not going after artist’s private life. It’s makes no sense!
Smug pretentious punk. Omg you need to evaporate off you tube.
@@iamzhongguoren9450scandal sells Fake perfume
"Real fragrance is too expensive so it's ok to buy fake", does that apply to Rolex?
"Rolex is to simple and boring to buy it for the price, so its ok to buy Casio"
idk fragrance and watches are different tho. More expensive watches are of higher quality than fakes while with fragrances there really isn't any difference.
@@ojasgadre2272If there is no difference than its no fake. I mean they also used whales puke to create a scent

“FP Journe is going to eviscerate his brand’s reputation! But first, a word from our sponsor: a knockoff fragrance brand!”
Uh huh.
😄
Ads are incredibly cringe , 90% of them are fly by night products and it hurts these UA-camrs image more than they think.
SNL should do a skit on watch influencers. There is so much material out there.
Implying Theo and Harris ever had a reputation to destroy XD
lol nice.
Man you guys gotta stop with the "FAKE" partnership... every time I hear christian give the pitch I just replace "fragrance" with "watch" and hear the justification of every person who has bought a fake rolex.
Exactly
It has made me look at them both different 🤔 they started the channel well but have gone off the deep end now

idk fragrance and watches are different tho. More expensive watches are of higher quality than fakes while with fragrances there really isn't any difference.
@@ojasgadre2272 there is not an appreciable difference between the 'fake' watch or 'homage' watch and the 'real' thing. Certainly not a quality difference reflected by the price. Case in point, San martin Rolex homages, are not 33x worse quality than a Rolex. No reason not to opt for something cheaper for a boring Rolex watch. Given the endorsement for FAKE, at best, they should be mute on fake and homage watches.
@@ojasgadre2272still a horrible look for someone in a luxury artisan space to be sponsored by a brand called “fake” promoting knockoffs. Horrible optics as the entire comment section is pointing out
So all this talk and nobody knows what he actually said? Seems these are more for clicks than anything else.
He probably said he likes Hublot
He is our guy.
Guys stop with the fake fragrance thing. I always just assumed there was a huge crossover between the watch community and the fragrance community so I'm surprised to see such a lack of appreciation for the art of perfumery on the channel. I know Christian can't smell but I always assumed Michael was a fraghead as he seems to appreciate artistry in many forms.
Only plebeians buy branded fragrances.
Calm down, there's no crossover. We all sit in our mom's basement and wear old spice.
Fake fragrance, fake news, but real disinterest today.
Hmm. Just curious, how much did you pay to watch this content, Cecco?
Not interested in perfume just because I like watches
Talk about a CEO that needs to be fired... Please buy FAKE fragrances, oh and by the way, All of our Vintage Watches are authentic...... 🤣🤣🤣..............😂😂😂😂
Greed makes people so blind it’s mind blowing
inb4 Journe said he hates collectors at that tier because they're hoarders and that watches are shit investments
Kudos to Journe for speaking the truth.
I watched this really hoping to hear what FPJ said or did. Without that it’s hard to form a view.
History is filled with flawed controversial creative geniuses that didn’t conform or act appropriately but that didn’t impact the demand or value of their legacy (from Picasso to Michael Jackson to Elon Musk!)
Is FP Journe a disrupter/maverick/loose cannon or is there something more sinister/morally wrong that completely destroys what the brand stands for and any association with it is tarnished (akin to Harvey Weinstein).
I’ve no vested interest either way but without understanding this detail it’s very hard to have an opinion
This is the best way to look at it, in my perspective.
He could've said something that I agree with and just isn't what's considered Kosher these days; or he could've said something that repulses me and I'll .... still probably buy one when they're cheaper lol
if it's the latter than that's the time to buy. who cares about the person behind the brand. we collect watches not morals and values.
Exactly. My opinion on the topic is going to be veey different if he hit on someone's wife vs if he turns out to be a nazi or a pedo
I totally agree with you. We live in a cancel culture, and unless we know what was said, it’s hard take a position. But I don’t insinuations without knowing what was said or done. Nico was not at the said dinner -it’s all heresay so far. Until we know
The only brand that you are hurting is your own. I have been subscribed to your channel and unless you run a retraction, I will ask everyone to unsubscribe. This is all hearsay and neither you or Nico know or even met the man. Been with him many times and he is not loud. He drinks wine like almost everyone. Of the many times I was with him I have never seen him drunk. Can it happen? Yes of course but that could happen to anyone. Big issues with not knowing the man, the so called collectors who said this and here is the BIG ONE, You said that the biggest issue is that he is the CEO, news flash EMILY is the CEO not FP. PLEASE, do at least some homework before making defamatory remarks. I like you guys but this is really bad stuff. Please retract at least about how a CEO can’t act like an artist.
relax, they don't need to run a retraction. this is a watch channel meant for entertainment. this is not the news. if i or christian wants to say journe is a pedo than so be it. it's your responsiblity to assess what your truth is. this is a big boy world. no one is going to hold our hands.
I agree 👍
This is great guys. It’s great to hear about other watch brand news
I'm inclined to think that F.P. despises those who only buy his watches because they expect them to appreciate (e.g. O'Leary).
EG, Theo and Harris
When's O'leary unloading... lol.
that's the time to buy...when fools sell.
$315usd strap, but think fragrance is overpriced. Yikes
Finaly you guy guys moved the mics :)
I would love to see the values tank so I could finally afford to buy a Chronomètre Bleu
what did he say? what are the rumors of what he said?
Sounds like prime time to buy a Journe.
This video is assuming 1 thing. That Nico is telling the truth and that he didn’t make up stories for likes
I never have and i never will🫡
@@NicoLeonardgood shit
I think a few things have to be considered. 1: The watch world, collectors/sellers will cling onto anything in hopes of giving a timepiece more provenance, so there definitely will be "Pre/Post Journe passing" watches. 2: If the quality and perceived rarity of the products remains the same, I doubt it will have a drastic influence on how the brand is placed in the market. Maybe just a slight knock, given part of the charm of Journe is that it's being pushed by the vision of one man. After Enzo Ferrari died, the company persisted as a iconic brand, although these situations don't come around too often.
Fair point but Ferrari was a much bigger scale mostly because of the racing.
The brand literally gets carried by the Tifosi. Most of them not even able to purchase the main product, cars.
to the second point of yours: Absolutely, if the watches keep being as good as they are or possibly even better, very few will care about his reputation and what he said/did or not. Not to mention, Ferrari is in high high demand even though it's incredibly poorly build and unreliable, because people want what is hard to get.
I don't mind in the slightest that Mr. FP Journe likes to stick his elbow out, whether in private or in public.
A genius is a genius and his circumstances. I recommend you to watch the movie "Sweet and Lowdown" by W. Allen.
The final work is important, not the creator.
Unclassy video Chris.
I remember Christian drinking with the Timepiece Gentlemen. Should he be removed as CEO?
"his age and culture, are not necessarily, in concert with modern times..."
Oh god here we go, younger people being offended by everything. I'm already feeling like this whole thing is massively overblown. People say dumb sh-t when they're drunk, usually the first thing that comes to their head, with no filter. I challenge anyone to tell me they've never said anything revolting when they're drunk...
Do we know what he said?
What did FP say at that dinner ??? Was it really this bad !
He said he will never sell you any watch even over his dead body :D
He thinks these types of collectors are pieces of shit. He puts his heart and soul into his watches, he's literally dedicated his entire life to horology. These speculative collectors only see dollar signs, and are shutting out those whom he sees as deserving from owning his time pieces.
My last year of WOSTEP in 2004 I actually met Francios (and Christophe Claret & Frank Müller) thru a friend in Geneva. They were just back from St Tropez and even 20 years ago it was obvious these guys liked to party hard. And yes, they really did the whole "party" thing. Wonderful guys though but definitely exentric.
Just how I'd want them to be; the watch world is so full of creepy, white color wankers... nice to know there are still some REAL HUMAN BEINGS alive.
FAKE has got to be the most ironic sponsor for T&H :P You guys rly don't see the watch parallel? "Why spend all that money, when you can get the same for way less" I mean, c'mon :D I got all those replicas and homages in front of my eyes, instantly, where this channel is all about sincerity, honesty and genuine takes.
Is it any different than brand X making a tank style watch?
It's not.
@@davidma1304no, and that's the point
Buy Steinhart! Why waste money on the Rolex!!!
buy casio. why waste money on the steinhart.
He is not the only CEO who sticks their foot in their mouth. Wont name names but we all know the most public ones.
Trump
Screw political correctness!
Jackson Pollock, Francis Bacon, Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Rothko, Picasso…all loved to party/drink. Their art was an expression of their lifestyle. It’s the same with F.P. Journe. He’s an artist equal to the creative geniuses mentioned above. Collectors know this. They get it. They appreciate an artists bright side, and, dark side. Collectors understand that this is where their creativity and originality comes from. Perhaps some ‘investors’ don’t. You two have totally missed the mark on this one. I’ll attribute it to your age and lack of knowledge and experience with artists. Salute 🥂🍾
Indeed
It does not matter what they think - it matters what the market things. We have your perspective and theirs, which one will be the dominanting one. Lets see.
The idea that someone gets a pass for acting like a twat simply because he's good at making watches is plainly stupid.
Ironic sponsor. Why not get Steinhart to sponsor the next one.
All publicity is good publicity, ask Kim Kardashian… proud to have purchased a Journe!

I really want a Chronomtre Blue, all good news to me. 😂 Anything that makes prices come down!

My word that watch looks so good on Christian's wrist!
What is it?
Could be a Rolex King Midas or Piaget Polo.
Ever heard of Franck Muller? Although he destroyed his brand bc he watered down his pieces. And not bc of too much cocaine use.
Yeah right, he was selling tens of millions or more, no man could put a dent into that with any drug addiction. His nose would fall off first
It is a show about nothing
And the source of this info/allegation is Nico Baggins, therefore must be 100% accurate 🙄
This Piaget is fantastic.
I do enjoy both of you and your channel. I couldn’t watch Nico and or his inane channel. Hope you guys enjoyed your Holiday.
How about a young vintage / used watch salesman who provides a well known watch youtube channel, yet sells malfunctining watches and is dishonest enough not to stand behind products he sells with Zero true aftersales customer care of any shape or form. At the end FP Journe is just a watch maker an Artist who in this case happened to be off his main scope of productive work, not an influencer or a UA-camr, the problem can be for me whether he is drunk while making a watch or not. If you are in fine arts you would wish to own a Picasso's or Dali's art work regardless of their well known notorious and abusive characters. Stop this sprouting this naivety BS.
Fake Frangences, and vitange Watches!!! 😮😮😮 I don't get it.
I was very blue collar when I met FP in NYC… I had him sign the owners manual for my Chrono Bleu…. I think that will add value… Imagine if you had a Breguet today signed by Breguet…. Who knew his foibles?
But if F.P. bit the dust tomorrow, would his company still stick around to service your watch? If not, who will service such a unique movement, and will they service it properly? This is the reason why larger brands with centuries of history and stability (i.e. Patek Philippe) are consistently considered the pinnacle of watch manufacturing and branding. These are companies that have transcended just a single individual.
His company has partners and those who own and manage the boutiques… the patents he owns are probably worth fortunes… I am completely convinced that his brand would live on…. Kind of like Breguet, the master watchmaker of his time…. Almost 300 years ago, and now owned by one of the watch conglomerates, same with Lange and Sohn…. No worries for future maintenance…
@@ItsNeverTooHot4Leather yes. There is a longterm management process.

This is my take. They're still the most amazing watches in the world in my view. Truly gorgeous.

😮 Bold move by F.P. Journe, hope it works out! 👍
The podcast have more adds per minute than the sky have strs per meter.
This is a good example why watches are not a good investment.
I am waiting for the secondary market of FP Journe to collapse so I can pick one up for the price of a Rolex Submariner :D
Steve Jobs' reputation never hurt Apple, I think anything short of FPJ being a ped.o, the brand is fine
“I was too late to the party, and it’s too expensive.” I’m sure you are trying to speak a weak Journe market into existence, but we will go ahead and revisit this and any follow-up “Nico Scoop” in the next 3-4 days, months, or years. I look forward to seeing how this ages. It reminds me of a Horological version of the Cancel movement started by a rumor of someone who saw something and some scandalous pictures, all peddled by Fake Perfume pushers. 😂. Come on guy
Even a little proof would be nice. T)
A French excentric watchmaker in his years that likes to drink,… i really wonder what people expected to hear. How could you think that his opinions would be culturally acceptible? As long he didn’t break a law… who cares?
Reminds me off a sketch from Bill Burr where he states a situation when an interview is given with an old blue collared man,… where and when did he grow up? How can you be surprized?
Seems to me that you buy a watch that you like, thats all. Don’t fancy the whole “a person is a brand” thing, don’t buy into it. The biggest saint in public just hides something, we are all imperfect. Better to expect it.
Good day to you all and lets all be more accepting to our other human fellows.
That wine glass…. Note, don't buy your stemware at the dollar store.
He probably said something about the Israel Palestine war
if he did, respect to him. too many snowflakes out there.
So your saying I might actually be able to afford a fp journe elegante? lol
Dude no they are not!!
In a parallel universe, F.P Journe is probably drinking his champagne, watching this video and declaring you two gay and i might have to agree with him 😂
So freshing. In a world where money is the only goal for the majority, a founder that doesn't give a bleep a bout hurting his brand. That is an artist
EVERYTHING you SAID about FRAGRANCES is WHAT someone WHO is UNEDUCATED about WATCHES, AS you SEEM to be ABOUT fragrances, would SAY about WATCHES...INTERESTING...#GiveMeJESUS
You guys make enough to have some integrity in your brand sponsorship choices. I request that you consider revaluating your current choices.

Hey all. Thanks for great content!

I think almost all expensive watches will tank. All it will take is a recession or even a bad depression. The first to go will be the watches. They will end up in the pawn shops just like
the pocketwatches did during the Depression. The wristwatches will go the same path as the pocket watch. The expensive bling watches with be out of fashion. People find they
can get along without them. Technology will replace them with a dot you can stick anywhere. They will be as dated as wood tennis rackets. They stay on the fringes of society.
memories. May size 14 or 16 pocket watches will become popular because you can hide them in your pocket. The poor and the middle class have already to a large extent been moving away
from wearing watches. The average person does not know the names of watches. They might have heard of Rolex Omega Seko or Timex. But the rest of them don't exist. I am seventy-two.
I love my 1949 18k rose gold Tresor watch. But I am old. In my pocket is a 1912 size 16 Hunter Ilinois sterling silver pocket watch with a heavy Victorian chain and as a fob 2017 999 fine United States silver eagle. I like holding it. Both timepieces keep excellent time. But as I said I am getting old. The time period of watches is slipping away. From the 1600s to the present. There is a big divide between the public and collectible watch wearers. All it will take is a nudge and it will be over.
New possible CEO? Oisin O'M?
Honestly, without knowing what he actually said everything is irrelevant, people get offended for nothing nowadays, I would not surprised if the phrase the offended the collector that left had me clapping instead.
I’m guessing it was antisemitism
@@johnbrennan592 Well if it was, I'm sure some of its collector would appreciate that, while others would totally condemn it.
Odd video without knowing what was said, ?
@@johnbrennan592 Antisemitism and racism has lost its meaning. Everyone throws around those words to discredit people. Unless Journe said lets lock up and murder every jew than i doubt he is an antisemite.
FP Journe will be called Journe after he passes
he was an unruly child and now is an unruly old man😂
A good move by FP Journe, a true artist, only those who really like his watches can stay was what he's thinking I guess.
Lol a true artist that's selling a 10k watch for 90k.
There aren't many famous artists out there that were stable. I mean Van Gogh cut off his ear, Andy Warhol was a nutter, Munch, Goya, O'Keefe, the list goes on. I think it kind of comes with the territory.
Did he say something outrageous like there’s only 2 genders, men can’t get pregnant and they shouldn’t play in women’s sports? Oh the horror! 🙄
All artists are nuts so live with it. The idea of buying watches for investment is a bullshit if you need good investment maybe try real estate maybe.
are you going to advertise fake watches next?
DROP DROP DROPPING!!!
“Whether you are an FP Journe guy…”
I saw F.P. Journe at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Wait, what?!!!!!!!! That’s insane.
This can’t be real 😂😂😂
He resides in Switzerland. What date did you see him?
Your point is well made. People, like the two immature stooges in the above video, are quick to believe anything and spread false rumors without checking sources. 1) Mr. Journe lives in Geneva, not LA. 2) Mr. Journe would never go near the sugary wax that passes for American chocolate, especially a Milky Way candy bar. And 3) Mr. Journe does not speak English.
“A lie travels halfway around the world before the truth can put its boots on.”
This is a copy pasta
Only adds to the guy's mystique, who's interested in a dull sober corporate owner
So..... fake watches BAD but Fake Fragrances GOOD?!? 🤔
If these guys were in the same room with the old boozer, they should have agreed on timing their exit from the brand rather than all collectively rush the exit at the same time.
What F.P. Journe said has nothing to do with the quality of the brand’s watches. Cancel culture is a social cancer. Hate the player not the game.
You remember Franck Muller ? Same journey , but with heavier stuff...
CHRISTIAN AND MICHAEL.... in the words of brandon tatum from officer tatum channel - "is he wrong though?" his comments on watch collectors does it not ring some truth? does he care about what other people think about him or does he care about the opinion people have towards his work
This is typical overthinking.....most geniuses are "mad" or seem "strange" to the rest of us, they are outliers and that's why they produce the exceptional and he hasn't actually done anything criminal....on the other hand i hope you succeed in destroying his brand so i can get my hands on one of his masterpieces or maybe that is what you are after for your own benefit?
Here we go!
