- NUTCRACKER VARIATION! Dance of the flutes / reeds / mirlitons / marzipan... known by so many names!
I've created a simple, elegant choreography for dancers with some experience dancing on pointe but who are not yet able to dance the repertoire variations. This variation repeats everything on both sides so it's easy to learn and remember!
IMPORTANT - Do NOT attempt this variation unless you have good technique on pointe in centre work as well as barre work.
Soft ballet shoe version coming soon!

Waltz of the flowers on pointe:

Love this so much! I'm going to teach it to my pointe class today. This variation will be perfect for them as the levels in the class vary from beginner to advanced.
Amazing! I hope they enjoyed it! :)
@@NatalieDanzaBallet they absolutely loved it. We ended up adding onto it and finishing the song.
ahh thank you! i am auditioning for summer intensives and needed a variation! this one is perfect because i’m fairly new to pointe but not ballet, all the others i searched were for total beginners! thanks!
Amazing! Best of luck for your preparations! 🩰
I love it so much! Can't wait to follow along, it's such a simple but beautiful dance.
Thank you so much! :)
loved it! perfect for someone who`s slowly getting into ballet again after a year on break
I opened the video just because I think ballet is so beautiful... but OMG, it seems SO hard!! Plus all the names and counting, geez 😱
It is definitely hard, but so worth it! Thanks for watching :)
Yep! And this is just a very basic pointe combination! It's also far harder than it looks! Even hops on one leg across the room are SO difficult.
I love it....thank u, TEACHER!!
Thank you :)
definitely will try this when I get a bit more balance! I just got my pointe shoes a week ago
Congratulations 🩰🥳
And advice to help get over your box en pointe, and also stop sickleing on pointe as well(this is my first time on pointe and i wear russian rubins

Yayyyy! Thanks lovely :)
This is very pretty! 🥰
Thank you ☺️
Hi Natalie! I recently found your account on Instagram (for World Ballet Day!) and just wanted to say thank you for creating and sharing these beautiful variations with us! 😊 You are such a gorgeous ballet dancer to watch! I have been out of dance for so many years, plus I am recovering from chronic and adrenal fatigue. I've lost a lot of my strength and balance over time, so being able to follow along with a variation that is slower and less exhausting is much appreciated! I am working on learning this to record a video, and I will tag you once it's done! :) Thank you again for all of these videos! 💖💖💖
Thank you beautiful! 💗💗💗
Love this! Great job! So pretty.
Thanks Nicole :)
Very lovely variaton!

Great class! Thanks!
Thank you :)
Thank you!! Its beautifull!!
Thank you :)
Perfect
Is there a specific name for this step? 0:35 (changing legs from 5th to 5th position on point)?
I don't know, my studio just calls them walks on pointe.
I want to know too
Love IT ❤️
Thanks :)
Love it, can't wait to learn it. Thank you, will tag you on Instagram soon. 💞💞💞
Thank you so much! Excited to see it :)
I love it! Can’t wait to dance it!!!
Thanks Hannah! :)
Natalie❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
Thank you sooo much 😍😍😍😍💖💖
You're welcome! :)
3:41 is a little bit hard for beginners
You’re right, you could change it for a ton lie or bourree:)
@@NatalieDanzaBallet Great idea, thank you so much😊
@Natalie Danza This move is too hard for me as a beginner (just coming off the barre) but I want so much to work up to it. Any specific exercises at the barre or in the center that you would recommend? I try to do single leg releves and eleves en pointe at the barre daily. And thank you SO much for these beginner pointe variations. I have been working on the Arabian for several days now. They are just challenging enough without crushing my spirit!
@Natalie DanzaI have finally learned this step and I am going to perform this beautiful variation in front of my family on Christmas( no stage this year☹) Thank you
Thank you so much for this! I am going to try it out. Is this a slower version of the song or where did you get this version? The one I have is too fast. 😕
Each orchestra plays it at a different speed, have a look for some different versions as they vary a lot :)
Greatness 💯
Thank you :)
Is it okay if i used this exact dance for my school talent show? I dont know how to cherograph myself yet :D
When I was like 7 or 8 we did a Barbie Dance to this music😂
My toes are screeeeeeminh
I L o v e i t. Thank you for share.
Yay! Thank you :)
FWIW, I've never heard it referred to as "dance of the flutes" in English, it's always "dance of the reed pipes", I don't know any russian, or which languages it was first translated to, but it's my guess that reed pipes is most accurate but that accuracy might be lost in translation to other languages.
In Russia, it's the Dance of the (little) Shepherds (танец пастушков), like this: ua-cam.com/video/MNHxTl2B4h4/v-deo.html I guess it depends on staging.
Yes, you'll find recordings by classical orchestras which refer to it as dance of the flutes as well as all the others. It has many names!
What the heck is a mirliton anyway?
I thought three children two girls and one boy are supposed to dance to this! This is the type from the Nutcracker I have seen on stage
Yes, it's the pas de trois. I made it into a solo
Me who’s not on pointe yet:🥲
Do you have twitter, i want to follow you in that.
