I just bought 2 of these and I can tell you that they do more than I will ever need. This amp drives all my speakers well at all volumes and sure the converter is not hi-def but like I said they work for what we do with music. My audiophile buddy thought I was pranking him when I showed him what was powering my speakers.
They really are amazing little devices.
If you use these to power the left and right rear do you just adjust it on the app?
Nice review! How does it fare with the klipsch rp-8000f towers? Does it color the music at all?
It would pair nicely. Barely if at all.
@@GramophoneMD thanks!
I would love to hear the 3 brands for comparison Advane Paris Myconnect 250 ....Anthem and AVM 90 ... Vincent SV-700
Hi, i know it is a bit long after review @Gramophone but does this support High Pass Filter when connecting a sub, or is it just a normal sub out. By this does it cut a certain Hz like 80 an higher off that goes to the speakers, and use low pass that is on active sub. Hope question makes sense.
I read on a Sonos forum that yes it does do high pass as well as low pass. Sonos seem very secretive saying they don't disclose this information to the public for some weird reason (why the heck not?) but they apparently said this was the case in a round about way.
Does this sonos aplifier work fine with analogue speakers??
If by analog you mean passive speakers? Then yes, that is what it is made for.
Would I be able to connect a Sonos Sub Gen 3 to this Sonos Amp? Or does it only support the physical Sub RCA Connection?
Yes, it will wirelessly pair with a gen 3.
Can you turn off speaker A (left) or B (right) if you’d like at any point from your phone?
You can’t control each individual channel but doing so would ruin the experience as whole as it is designed to play stereo.
Do you think it produces enough power to run a set of Klipsch R-820-F?
MORE than enough. Klipsch products are notoriously easy to drive, and 125 watts is enough for most other speakers anyway.
I wonder if this is a paid review as this guy keeps talking about HiFi but fails to mention that the amp actually does not do high resolutiom audio. I would love to have Sonos for their ecosystem platform and integration with other prosucts but at the moment it is far better to save up just a little bit more and get the Bluesound Powernode 2i - same thing, far better sound. I would even argue it has a better control app.
The Powernode 2i is an awesome product and it does support high resolution. However the Sonos offers more power so it is a bit of a tradeoff. This is just a hunch, but I suspect Sonos will support 24 bit in the near future based on what hardware they newer products have been built around. However keep in mind that on services like Tidal, Qobuz, and Amazon most high quality music is still 16 bit/CD quality. Unless we have a high dollar and efficient pair of speakers on hand to do a comparison, I doubt one would hear much of a difference. Having personally heard both on good speakers I know well, I honestly didn't. I always recommend that my customers go with what they believe they will enjoy using the most, or what will make the most sense for their home.
@@GramophoneMD Well said. The bluesound also has an inferior interface compared to the Sonos.
You know what else doesn’t do high resolution audio? Human hearing!
They drop the ball this company...why not make a 5 channel or more amp. I would immediately jump on one...bummer.
Being a custom integrator we would jump at the opportunity to deploy an all in one multi channel distributed audio solution from SONOS, as whole home audio is a foundational element of our business. I really hope they read your comment haha.
how can I connect two sonos amp in one TV?
What's your goal here?
Sonos amp powerful enough for focal chora 816 ?
Yes.
Thanks for the review but, I hope it sounds better than the mic you used for this video...sounds like you're talking out of an aluminum trash can😂
Lol, IKR. Newer videos are better.
Da da da all folks
I have sonos amp and bluesound powernode 2i. The bluesound has a lot more oomp at lower volume.
Yes, that may be true, but the powernode interface is terrible. Having to jump back and forth between apps is just awful.
@@NoBody-ij9dj yes, I agree. That is why I use Roon.
Obviously you have no idea what HiFi is comparing it with class D power.
Well of course it doesn't sound like a Levinson or a Mac, or a Boulder, etc... but for $700 it is respectable in its category/surprising. But I could also ask you. Have you never heard an example of a higher end Class D amp like a Hi-Fi Rose RA180 or a Mola Mola? Those things sound surprisingly close to Class A!
Reviews audio gear. Uses multicam setup. Can’t be assed to spend 30 bucks to buy a cheap lav mic. 🙃
I feel you. I’ve voiced this concern, and will be addressing it soon.
I bought two and they are terrible. Extremely difficult to set up. The app is not working and the support is brutal. If I could return this piece of junk I would. I really wish someone was doing a walk-through inch by inch of how to set up just a simple stupid speaker to this app
Which version of the app are you using? I am quite surprised by this as I find this to be one of most reliable products of its kind. Maybe I can help.
