yes, 100% want to see the repairs too. I think you should show everything from finding, bidding, picking up (tipping over) find and fix problems, and how you fixed it, listing, showing, selling. Just my 2 cents worth.
This is super freaking interesting and informative 😮 I want a truck bed camper but at this time only have two f150 's 86/95. thanks for explaining all the electrical and guts that make one work 😃👍🇺🇲
Hi bro, you have an expert's vision and you can estimate the things you buy, the amount and the repair... and you come out with an amazing result... You are a person who loves your work, so you are truly creative in it... Thank you
Well done mate ! And using the parts from the $25 camper was a great idea. Oh and yes bugger that shower door taking up all that space. I have to agree that the wiring was a bit of a nightmare, i bet it took a long time to sort it but at least you now have a camper you can flip for quite a few dollars.
Man, you're so knowledgeable about stuff. I'm so glad you're showing us the restoration work on this camper. It's so interesting to watch! I just purchased my first TT and it's also a Palomino. Looking forward to seeing what you do next to this camper!
The county vocational school I went to built a mobile solar power station in science class. We used renogy panels and one of their AGM batteries, the whole setup works great.
Had problems with our lights flickering with that controller. Had to switch it over to a Victron. Contacted Renogy couple times and they couldn't figure it out.
I’ll never buy another Renogy product ever again. Shipped me two bad products in a row and took 6 weeks for them to rectify it. Ended up filing a credit card dispute after the last one showed up with obvious signs of being used.
The fridge does have a small fuse to protect the circuit board, but the wire leading to the fridge also needs protected otherwise it could over heat and catch fire if the amperage is too high or it shorts to ground
When you add solar to a camper like that, do you have to disconnect the 12v charge circuit from the inverter so that you're not double charging if you're plugged into shore power?
On AC systems, white is neutral, GREEN is ground, and black is hot. Death. On DC systems red is positive--but black was a safe negative/ground. In the marine industry, just like RV's, that meant a black wire could be safe, or lethal. So for the past 20 years the DC negative is YELLOW. That way you can't mistake an AC lethal hot for the safer DC ground. A lot of DC product makers still use black wire, because it is cheaper.
The reason it is earth last when fitting vehicle batteries is that they usually have so much metal around them it would be easy to cause a short circuit with the live. Never underestimate 12volts. A fully charged battery could easily weld a spanner if shorted, we are talking DC here. So even if it isn't strictly necessary to disconnect/connect the earth first, it is certainly a good habit to develop. The only time I have had am electric shock with enough of a kick to bother me was meesing around with the six volt battery connections on an old British motorcycle when the engine was running.
A 9-V battery in a junk drawer makes contact with a piece of steel wool to the battery poles, and you gotta fire starter, so, yeah, a 12-V battery is that on steroids to making things go, poof.
Yeah, a cheap Group24 car battery can put 3000 Amps into a "crowbar short" across the terminals. That's why every battery needs a primary battery fuse within inches of the terminal.
When the factory was hiring minimum wage workers to slam these together in the covid days, this is the electrical work you can expect. Pretty sorry workmanship. Glad you will be fixing it.
FYI …….. batteries SHOULD be hooked up POSITIVE FIRST due to the tightening of the terminals - spanners = metal ……. No risk of shorting to GROUND if you haven’t ALREADY connected it!! be careful what you say, someone is always out there for a liability claim.
This is one of my new favorite channels to watch now
I'm happy to see you showing the restoration process on this one.
seems everyone wanted that, but in the past they don't perform as well
Oh i love watching the restoration work, and for big projects i loved the time lapse ones.

Yes, show us everything!
You have a lot of electrical knowledge!😀
thanks!
Like it! actually my very first TC was a Palamino softside/pop-up. they've come a long way.

Glad it was helpful! you can get a light weight rig for an f-150!
I love how you can fit everything and make it whole. YOU are awesome.

I appreciate that!
Man, the way that electrical work was done originally was iffy. Dustin, it's a good thing you set it straight!
What did you do to repair the hole in the roof at the top of the ladder?
Great content. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
That’s awesome that you had one for parts. Definitely enjoyed this video
Saved a lot of money. Making the profit on this one even greater.
The wires from the battery don't look heavy enough to run an inverter❤
Gotta make the old man noises. 😂
lol yup
Well every component installed beautifully! Looks amazing!

I have to agree that the wiring was a bit of a nightmare, i bet it took a long time to sort it but at least you now have a camper you can flip for quite a few dollars.
Looking good.
Thank you! Cheers!
Gosh I love watching you fix stuff, and I think you are totally the man! Love seeing the actual work being done too!

how did it flop over?
see previous video
@@LifeofLind OMG the travesty, I missed one of your videos some how, Shame on me :D
I really appreciate these videos and thanks for taking us along the resto process on this one!
How much you asking??? Cash offer ???
Nice work Dustin. Glad you're back on our screens.
Let me know the price.
will depend on all the repairs to get it back to new, but somewhere around 16k
@@LifeofLind Thats not bad,,,,
Great work, nice investment, will make someone a terrific camper at a reasonable price.
Nice one mate, you cannot beat having a parts, car, van or caravan.
🙂
Nice video. Hope you and your family get lots of use out of the camper.
Thr Renogy link does not work.
Thanks! I fixed it!

keep these coming awesome!!
😁😗👍👍

A power probe is a nice tool to have. 😂. "My lil buddy."
way better than guessing hahahah " i think this is a ground zap"
the fridge was wired correctly. the fuse is built into the circuit board in the fridge if it was still there.
The fridge does have a small fuse to protect the circuit board, but the wire leading to the fridge also needs protected otherwise it could over heat and catch fire if the amperage is too high or it shorts to ground
Where do you find your toys? Most auctions I see for slide in's are not the best shape
it takes time, look at the savage auctions online, i bid low and have patients
Clearly you've purchased a possessed item, clean it up quick and get it gone before you need a costly exorcism lol!

With all the troubles you have loading these super buys why don’t you make a bogey to go under the campers so you can pull them up onto your trailer
thinking about building one
@@LifeofLind brill I will look out for the video

Just curious, where do you post the for sale???

poof indeed, i hope the lithium units bms would stop it, but its rated for 200 amps so you can do a lot of damage before that trips
Yeah, a cheap Group24 car battery can put 3000 Amps into a "crowbar short" across the terminals.
That's why every battery needs a primary battery fuse within inches of the terminal.
So how can I be a $20,000 mistake if there's no damage
I love to know how things work, and find your videos fascinating! What is your day job?
Everybody Like, Share, Subscribe, Comment. This is a good channel.
Thanks Reno!
Yeah, Dustin seems to be a decent, family oriented guy who's never afraid to try something new and get the job done.
600 watts i have that controller

hi thanks for watching
Covid campers were then worst built campers. That’s why your finding what your finding.
