Thank you mate! I have already received new motor and it also drifts in speed a bit - about 10hz and it stabilises then (w&f is totally different story). But i bought sony k81 motor that is fg servo - it should not drift, but i need to make psu for it. Also i was discussing with other xk 009 owners and they all say that this deck is drifting in speed by a bit and service manual gives +- 1,5 % drift in speed error…- thats a lot i think… Cheers!
Lovely deck and a great service. I know Pacific Stereo's motors are not cheap, but the quality is excellent and of course you have a warranty. I hope you manage to complete it soon as it's not really usable as it is. A very interesting video and thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I have already received new motor and it’s very nice in w&f, but speed drifts 10hz -> video soon. Also bought new old stock sony tc k81 fg servo motor that should be very stable speed wise. We will see in future videos since i have to build power supply for it. Cheers!
A very nice AIWA cassette deck. Visually stunning. I hope you can get it to the top standard you want from it. I had same issue with belts on an AIWA midi, when the belts are smaller you can also use dental floss to help clean up the crap. The larger flat belts are tricky to clean up but a good job at removing it from the chassis.
I have this Deck and i need to replace the belts, just wondering where to source replacement belts. Im in Ireland, Great tutorial to have when im doing my replacement, Thanks 👍
Thanks 🙏 I bought them from fixyouraudio. Idlers not perfect, but it will break in. If its your first deck that you want to repair, then i would not suggest to, because this transport is not very friendly for beginners… Cheers
Nice work! I own the Japanese market equivalent, Excelia XK-009 in need of the same treatment, would you consider repairing mine or could you recommend someone? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work 🙂
Can you help me on changing Radio reception area of my Aiwa HS-JX959 please? It says "U" and the frequency range is 530-1750 Khz. How do i change area to "E" on this device?
Nice work! I can't wait to get one of these for myself.

Agreed, that is a lot. I was thinking of doing that same thing to my XK-007 before I had to use that extra motor from the K61 on my K65.

@@LT.tapeheads.service Maybe make that a regulated power supply, then you are sure it's not a voltage variation!
