Hi Boris, Very good video, thanks! Could you advise on the issue i got with this deck? i have xk 009, after belts replacement on the capstans i'm getting contant clicking as if something keeps toutching and the heads would not go up, f.f and revinding works ok. I didnt disassemble the mechanism or anything further, only the capstans rest bar. Can you advise the reason. May be the cogs under the flywheels should be in a certain position? thanks!

One of the flywheel controls the f.f and rew function (maybe the right on the take up pinch roller), the other flywheel controls the movement of the head block. Can you check if the belts between the flywheels is in the right position and have enough friction to supply the rotating force when the mechanism try to move the heads. You can also try to remove the flywheel and place it again in the right position. When placing the flywheel you can try to move it manually until it clicks and fix on release position.

@@PAFT-Audio Thank you very much for the detailed hints, Boris! I figured out that the motor is spinning the opposite direction that turned out to be the issue. Can you imagine)) motor power wires are correct otherwise the stanilizer would have died. I had disassembled the motor before for greasing the bearings and slightly bent contacts springs at an angle. This changed the tongue angle. I've fixed that and now the rotation is correct. Thanks very much for help! Overall Aiwa design is really so flimsy and overcomlicated compared to Pioneer or Sony...

@@RomanTecDev For sure the opposite direction of the motor cause the problem with the head block. I agree that the mechanism of the Aiwa is very complicated. They use the same mechanism in all of their decks starting at 660 up to the S9000. It was strange for me that Aiwa have no one quartz locked servo mechanism. I like the mechanism of the Pioneer. In my measurement the W&F of the Pioneer is much better than the Aiwa.

Yes.. and other important procedures for alignment also did not exist in the video. It is a just a demo of the Aiwa cassette mechanism, noting else. It is not a precise guide for servicing (all the required information can be found in the service manual).
