I'm baby sitting my work mates plant because she forgot it when we went into lockdown, just figured out it was a Parlor Palm Plant! Thank you for the tips! I want to make sure I take good care of her

Very well done. You get to the point and answered all of the most important areas. I just got a new one last summer and hadn't done much with it. It was getting a little brown on the tips so I thought I'd better get some input on its care. You answered all my questions and more. Thank you so much!

I have mine sitting on a moisture tray and a dish of water sitting nearby, it seems to be keeping it healthy, since indoor air usually tends to be drier than the outdoors.

Hii! Yes, they can live for decades... Actually I adopted one which is at least 30-32 years old which belonged to my parents! I had a hard time indentifying which species it was, since it now has one single trank (i don't know how to call it, haha) instead of multiple ones as it is when you first buy it... Mine needs watering once every 3 weeks...! Due to the indoor conditions/soil/pot, I guess. But it grows new leaves constantly and slowly (they take around a month to fully unfurl). (I live in Greece)

Hi Ilana! Thanks for your comment. If it grows new leaves and they are green, then I guess it's all good.

Awesome vid. I just got back from vacation from florida, and ended up buying this plant in the airport! Lol. I live in idaho and it gets below 40degrees during the winter. Do you think the plant will be ok? Its located by a indirect light window, and sometimes will open it to let air into my bedroom. Will it be ok?

Hello, thank you for the awesome tips and tricks for Parlor Palm trees, I have one question I wanted to ask... Do I need to thin out the plants as they grow? I've bought one plant and it has 9 different shoots and they're all developing new leaves and it looks like the newer leaves don't have enough space to develop and that there's not enough air in between the leaves , should I split it into two different pots?

I watered once a month in winter in Melbourne and the palm is doing ok, of course when the weather gets warmer more frequently, I don't have central heating and it's rather cold in winter indoors.
