      Yeah this situation was scuffed.
You could hear the officer speaking notice the gun when he stepped out like he caught his tongue for a second.
What I think probably happened was this dude came out with his gun holstered as a show of "dont fuck with us" (which is fair. He made NO direct threats) and I'm guessing that second cop picked up on that and went off on him for it.
I would have definitely started it off way less forceful just something like "Whooooa there, fella, can I just double check that you have a permit for that. I apologize, but we have to check for a permit by state law." instead of telling him to put his hands up and telling him to disarm himself.
I do think he furthered the argument though. The women were on his side but they were trying to de-escalate the tension by just telling him to go inside. I think that would have been the safest thing to do; just back off and let things just chill down, but I also understand not wanting to be oppressed by the police like that.
Then the officers display some pathetic and petty behavior towards them afterwards too. Pretty stupid stuff, man. Officers should have immediately apologized and explained that they were startled by him coming out with his gun. It's embarrassing to admit it, but it's better than just yelling at the guy. If the dude wouldn't drop it after that apology, I'd say he was in the wrong then. The officers just like refused to admit that they were wrong, though. How are we ever supposed to function as a society when nobody wants to apologize for their mistakes? It's crazy.
Edit: I didn't even see that the officer pulled his gun (I watch these videos while doing other things/not being tabbed in to UA-cam). That's insane that he pulled his gun on this guy for just having a gun on his hip, and then they went and found his car to give him a ticket. Pathetic.

@@miguelzavaleta1911 There's a big difference between the right to speak in the First Amendment and the right to *not* speak in the Fifth.
The Fifth Amendment only applies to _compelled_ statements. See _Holt v. Territory of Utah._ It is only violated when involuntarily compelled statements are introduced at trial. See _Chavez v. Martinez._ It does *not* apply to voluntary statements regardless of the circumstances. As the Supreme Court ruled in _Frazier v. Cupp,_ deception used to elicit confessions does not render the confession "compelled" so long as the statement was voluntary. This includes, but is not limited to, a person's lack of knowledge that their statements are being heard or can be heard by Police and used by Criminal prosecuters. See, e.g., _Illinois v. Perkins._
The First Amendment is not absolute. See e.g. _U.S. v. Schenck._ It's _especially_ not absolute with on-duty Government officials. Free speech rights are secured to the citizens, not those under colour of law. As such, public officials have free speech rights if they're conducted as a private citizen, not in uniform. See _Garcetti v. Ceballos._ But even if it were, the First Amendment does not protect a right to speak about one's violations of law.

They are overly paid, have benefits including insurance plans for thier families, discounts at local stores, free stuff at businesses too, and more. They majority of their job is customer service and they fail that all the time. Citizens are far more likely to die by a cops gun than a cop getting shot and killed by a citizen (78 cops VS approx. 1,000 Citizens deaths a year). This shit will go down as soon as we hold cops to account. The fact is cashiers at a gas station in the hood, where everyone goes to that store cause it is a store desert in that area, are at just as much risk of getting shot as a cop. Yet, i have watched those fully armed cashiers handle tussles (even when the bone heads have guns) without anyone dying. Yet, cops can't do that? Doctors are attacked and killed too...or injured by a psychotic patient...yet doctors are not armed and go to work knowing anyone can come into the ER today and harm them. Cops are given way to much lee way and excuses, so the bad behavior happens. The standford prison expirement shows why over sight that is completely separate from cops and their influence is best.

Cops have the right to escalate. What many cops seem to fail to understand is that they also have the responsibility to de-escalate. The 2nd Amendment means that cops in the USA need to understand the difference between simply carrying (bearing) arms and brandishing them, and to safely interact with people who are armed. Furthermore, these specific officers need to understand that it's not only police officers who are allowed to bear arms in the USA. They should have just remained calm and kept an eye on him in case he did reach for his weapon. If they were really concerned about it, maybe go so far as to ask to see his licence. But any officer who brandishes their gun on a person who is clearly not threatening them needs to be disciplined at the very least.

BUT officers have the ‘authority’ to make on-site decisions that could include detainment, disarming, arrest, and various levels of physical force.
