I went to NYC for the first time in 2013. My friend said GIRL, YOU MISSED ALL THE GOOD STUFF!!!! I am afraid he was right.
This channel is a pure treasure
"Judy, be careful!" LOL
Wow! This is amazing video! Thanks for sharing
I have to be honest that these people are what I aspire to: fashionable and confident, no care of the world
I was born in 86 and it's so illuminating to visualize such movement in culture. Loved all the music throughout the video. #thanksru #thankyou
They have the confidence I wished I had
These are beautiful snapshots of time and place that so many have only heard or read about
I love New York City in the 80’s it was so real back then
Thank you for posting this!
Love. Love.
This makes me so happy to watch it's always been my dream to live in the 80s and here we go thank you for posting this
barbie.frum. hell
You would have loved it! The energy was alive!! Now NYC is all robotic with ppl glued to their phones disconnected to what’s around them. It was so animated back then!
Much love to you Nelson
Thank you for sharing 🤩
This people give me my rights. These people are my hero/heroines
The camera work is amazing 🤩
Amazing to see it on UA-cam
So much fashion and creativity this video wow
What a time to be alive! God bless new York ❤️
Ru stood out the most...Love Ru Paul such a beautiful soul. love n respect
Watching this ( yet Again!!! ) on July 17th 2021 35 years have now passed !!! Lahoma is frikin hilarious in this, RIP Nelson Sullivan!
Those who throw shade on Ru nowadays have no idea where she came from. Patton Oswalt said something similar in one of his shows - Ru crawled across the barbed wire fence for equality, just for some later generations to come and step on her.
Anyone who knows gay history knows what Rupaul did for us, and what she had to go through to do it. Respect to her and to Lahoma!
Happy day without having to spend much( ice cream) and free fun . Thank you for sharing the fun 🤩
Quater for a slice ! From you two , sittin down .
The bravery of all of them !!!!
I love these videos and could binge watch them for ages
it’s crazy how far rupaul has come
This was the day before my first birthday ❤
And ever since I was a very little girl I have been intrigued and obsessed with the club kids and all the people from this time and genre! I still love and follow them and try to find who I can to pay homage too! Thank you Nelson for all that you gave us❤
YES BITCH THE REAL NEW YAWK, WHEN FOLKS DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT
I love Nelson, wish I could of met him before he passed away, he died on my 17th birthday. Rip Nelson
Quarter for a slice... Love Love Ru Paul!!!❤
Faaaark, the style, the height, the ‘wow’, RuPaul is just glorious and drop dead stunning
the blonde low-key reminds me of laganja
hairymaclary121 or Alaska
Max
Askin' for quarters and look at her now. SO much respect for you Mama Ru XXX
What the song played from boombox at guy shoulder 4:32 - 4:50? I like that song. Or can someone suggest similar music?
want also to know!!!!
i want to know too :/
Same
Not the music he is playing here but kinda similar vibe: Wuf Ticket - The Key
Lahoma is something else lol !!! RuPaul is gorgeous!!! 80’s will rock forever and ever.
This is so fascinating.
Omg this looks like it was such a fun time!
That dude was having a blast, listening to music on his big radio.
Does anyone know the song or remix at 4:30 - 4:50? I feel like I'll be trying to figure this out the rest of my life
@Social Gadfly no, it was not a Ru song. Club music from back in the day
This video is so amazing.
“Can I get a quarter for a slice?” I’m gonna say that to ru when I’m on drag race
Who’s here in 2020 ? 🌈 💙
2021 baby
Not sure if RuPaul was covered in toilet papers, but whatever it was it looked *fierce!!*
Probably pieces of plastic bags?
Wow! Rupaul asking for quarters for slices. If 1986 Ru only knew.😀
This is so great to see! They represent freedom!
Hi, I'm here again:) I'm not really one who celebrates it,but happy pride queens
In my day I use to sell little flowers for a nickle so I could get a slice of pizza or a hot dog with onions. That was in the early 50's. Hear we are in the 80's hustling quarters for a slice. Oh sometings never die. Go ahead Ru.
I ❤these videos from the 80s
Ru was always a star.
Fabulous gorgeous oh so many wonderful fantastic thank you so much for this thank you Nelson I love you 💋
lahoma before vs. after 3 hours always cracks me up 😭😭 she's so adorable
It's criminal that the views for this are not in the millions. Every drag child needs to at least nod their head this way.
Lahoma is the original Alaska LOL
Lady appearing throughout the sixth minute should watch this video and know her broad mind should be praised! Yes gurl!
