Steve Reeves Playlist: • Steve Reeves The Legend - Спорт
I didn’t realize this film existed. I would love to see this look rewarded in natural competitions today.
Hear hear
Just wow. The other guys were hard working athletes and Reeves could not outperform their gymnastic prowesses. However, when he gets to the stage with his simple movements the crowd goes wild. Amazing charisma.
Of course, comments on Reeves, himself, are in order, as are thanks for uploading this in its entirety!!! But as a fan of the sport of gymnastics, I have to say that there was actually some pretty good gymnastics on display here - especially for the time.
That was the point of this upload. 99% would never realise how different physical culture was...it was bodybuilding, yoga and gymnastics all practiced for health and strength
Steve Reeves sure was a showman at a young age- knew what poses to hit!!
That was soooooo good and absolutely fascinating. I always thought that with the right food and exercise routine, anybody could get a beautiful physique. But as soon as Steve hit the stage, everybody else faded into the background, forgotten or unnoticed, including Jacques-the star of this documentary. I did not realize, until after watching this video, that a big part of Steve's all around prettiness and beauty, were because he was so genetically gifted. That woman, 'Venus', had stunning physique, too.
Magnificent physiques and abilities all round...try seeing that kind of athletic ability in a physique show nowadays
I agree with Golden Era Bookworm. For the last several days, or longer than that, really, I have not been in an ogling mood. But in looking back at this video and various comments herein, specifically this comment I'm replying to, that if I were in an ogling mood, I would find probably *ANY* of the contestants quite suitably comely, even if I might have preferences among them.
When bodybuilding and physical culture were synonymous. They truly were athletic and very strong.
Talk about forgotten history! Thanks for showing us this piece!
You're welcome mate
He had an insane waist to shoulders ratio, big ribcage.
He literally looked like a superhero.
Except the muscle developement is attainable for a genetically gifted bodybuilder(not even elite genetics probably like Coleman) without steroids. His bone structure was pretty unique and that cant be had by anyone.
Such a Great Show of the Human Body and the athleticism all these bodybuilding competitors behold on stage is something you don’t see in men’s bodybuilding anymore or even in the new divisions
Thanks, Carlos!!! I have a copy of this but haven't looked at it in years. You are COMPLETELY the man in your chosen endeavor!
Love this documentary, saw it years ago, and finally saved it because it can be difficult to find. Thanks for the posting.
I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE REEVES ON STAGE ( IN THAT SHAPE ) TODAY ! THANKS CARLOS !
You are welcome
Reeves was so ahead of his time. 😲

Great upload, mate. 💪😎
Thanks

You're welcome
Also...not always mentioned... The Best Tan... Steve Reeves...!!!
Woooowww thanks to much for share this about the greatest one Steven Reeves for ever
I'm speechless , amazing
At the 12 minute make that is Oscar Heidenstam for sure. He’s the one who convinced Steve to go over from London on a whim. Pretty sure that’s him doing the rope stomach isolations at the beginning of the contest too.
@17:43 - 17:46 is enough to give us the current popular warning of an Antarctica-melting induced Armageddon. What a way to go!
cool video i love steve reeve
Our bodybuilders of today with their 40 inch waists could never do any of the moves these guys are doing!
Steve Reeves 💪💪😎😎🔥🔥
Good video. Had you seen that Bob Gajda had passed away?
Arguably the most beautiful man to ever live. With his suoer handsome face ajd god like body.
Pochi personaggi del grande schermo hanno suscitato tanta ammirazione e lusinghieri consensi come Steve Reeves. È stato campione nella vita come sullo schermo.
Phenomenal genetics, imagine if Steve at his peak was present in the world today. He is a TIMELESS bodybuilding icon.
He will always be
There’s thousands of Steve reeves physiques now he wouldn’t do well against a freak like Phil and many other gifted guys they are just 1 in a billion
It’s a good think he wasn’t. A physique like his deserved to be in a time where he wasn’t compared to steroid abusers.
@@curgunner even without steroids he’d not win against other genetic elite true freaks short and heavily muscled.
@@curgunner I agree. That's what sets him apart
I don't know about the gym wear back then, but it has sure changed over the years😀
Yay!
Amazing waistline i can't think of any bodybuilder having a waistline remotely like it today, check out the video at 13.57!!!
It's crazy
As much as I love Reeves's physique in every way, that particular angle on him was too freaky for me. I certainly hope he was sucking it in just for dramatic effect like he did in a few vacuum-pose photographs, and even then, I just don't see how it is possible to have that kind of proportioning. THAT looks unnatural, too.
Notice the body types were much less bulky and the types of athletic positions and movements tells me alot about their training.
Yep, athletic...yoga, gymnastics and Bodybuilding all were a part of physical culture
@@GoldenEraBookworm not sure modern bodybuilders could do that. Muscle too inflated
Notice the absence of benches. You exercised on your feet, on the floor or hanging from a bar, working with whatever weight you could support. While that might limit your ability to develop freakish bodypart size with isolation movements, it also went a long way toward ensuring symmetry, flexibility and a good level of fitness.
WHEN people went to gym on bicycle
Or on foot
i still do 7 km back and forth to the gym
cool 🤣reminds me of the old charly chaplin films
استاد بزرگ پادشاه بادی بیلدینگ قهرمان و نماد قدرت و زیبای پرورش اندام جناب استیو ریوز😉💪💋❤👍👌👋
👍
What’s fascinating is that his chest wasn’t huge but he looks so big?
It's his phenomenal proportions
@@GoldenEraBookworm the ratios right? I suppose his secret weapon was a tiny waist
@@leepretorius4869 yes
@Alex Henry Garcia it seems a lot more attainable
Wish it was sub titled in English.
Let me just turn on the close caption subtitles......oh.
Same 😅🤣
"the last fart" hahaha. thanks for the upload
At 7:58 smoking was part of the training.
ریوز جان روحت شاد یادت گرامی باد💘
The bikini babe .... Steve was a lucky legend
Unfortunately I can't understand a damn thing, but what legendary footage !! Hard to believe something like this has existed all these years and just now it's surfacing 🤔😮
Was that Steve performing those backflips?
I had no idea he was that athletic if that was him.
Can't seem to recognize the other guy posing down.
The other guy is Robert Durandon, who came second and was Mr France. No, Steve was not performing backflips..that was another athlete
@@GoldenEraBookworm Although he was probably capable, or at least he would have been with just the minimum of training. There is other footage from about this time of him performing pushups while in handstand position, no?
If you click on the Close-Captioning "CC" icon among those on the bottom-right of the screen, it will generate French subtitles. Then after that, if you click on the setting icon immediately to the right of the CC icon, then go into the Subtitles/CC submenu, and select the "auto-translate" option, and then select the language of your choice. Of course, English is included in those.
What HOT 🔥 BODYBUILDING BEEFCAKE MUSCULAR Manly MUSCULAR Manly PHYSICALY PHISQUES!
He could have played Superman.
NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL BETTER THAN PRIMO !
The hell with primo and diana
@@GoldenEraBookworm TOTAL COOL FOOTAGE !
Who was the guy doing yoga ? Was it Steeve Reeves?
No..but yoga was as much a part of bodybuilding back then...as it was complete physical culture
@@GoldenEraBookworm wow. I dint know that. Back then, even the best bodybuilders are very flexible, mobile , agile and had high endurance. Truly the Golden era !
@@gouthamsrinivas8190 yes, I wish to address this topic soon
@@GoldenEraBookworm Thanks. That would be great !
Not everybody speaks this language
The language is bodybuilding and fitness, aka? Art and science, the universal language ❤.
