Can we just talk about how this song reflects their relationship with each other? Not romantically of course, but they have known each other and worked together for so many years. The line "I swear that i still get lost in the light" symbolized that how after so long they still fit together like yin and yang. "No photograph could possibly show the you I know". You see a whole different side to someone when they perform. These two have performed together for so long that they know a version of the other that few people see. And just in all " You shine." They have watched each other perform, and grow so much and have been a witness to how the other shines. And its beautiful.

I was a part of the Mexican production of Carrie, the musical.
And Derek used to like our posts and Christy gave us pointers and even told us what she liked from our show several times.
So this is a treasure even bigger and brighter every time.
Seeing them perform or mention Carrie brings a smile to my face always. They both are so down to earth and amazing and talented... I love them.
And the chemistry together is always awesome.

I wish that they stayed in characters as Anya and Dmitry. The song would have worked about the same! I had that thought and then Derek said that he was hoping no one would discover that he's a complete fraud and I screamed so hard!

I’ll bet they were so happy to be reunited for this performance. These two surely know how rare it is to get up on stage and be so at ease by having shared a friendly bond with the other performer, to the point of convincing the audience that they ARE the characters they play, simply with the emotion and genuine affection in every look, smile, and note! I hope this isn’t the last time Christy and Derek shine on stage together!!✨💖☀️
