@@tammylemacks in my opinion, essential oils are the better option as you can use ones that have relaxation, respiratory or other benefits that you may not get with a fragrance oil. If your goal is scent only then either one is fine to use:)
I was wondering where did you get the soap molds that you used in this video. I would like to try this but I could not find ones with the covers on them like the ones you have.
You could. The thing to watch out for is too much liquid be it water, alcohol or witch hazel can make them fizz while you are making them. It seems to happen easier with water so just be sure to do a super light spritz at a time.
IL wouldn’t cut it(at least for the size I made). You will only get one to two showers out of each steamer depending on how long your showers are. If there is any left you can just remove it from hour shower and place it in a dry location until you are ready to use it again.
Hi! Thanks for ur video! Question can u let us know how many drops that would be for the essential oils?? So far I’m coming up with 80 drops for the lavender is that correct?? 🥴 TIA
It can vary some based on the oil’s viscosity and the size of the dropper so most of the time I measure in mL or ounces but the general consensus is there is about 20 drops of essential oil per 1mL. So you are correct that 4mL of Lavender would be about 80 drops and 10mL of the other oils would be about 200 drops per oil. Hope that helps!
@@tammylemacks so I typically only use sodium lactate in my cold process soap as a hardener. I haven’t tried it in any other application. You could use Cocamidopropyl Betaine as a bubbling agent in a bubble bath liquid. SCI powder could also be used in a bubble bath product. Hope that helps some:)
For this recipe I used essential oils. Currently I get my essential oils from Young Living and I have a few from Bulk Apothecary . If you would like to purchase from Young Living I have a link with them: www.youngliving.com/us/en/referral/25861180 Just copy and paste in your browser :)
They won’t make your shower slippery:) They aren’t fatty oils so don’t for the most part have a greasy consistency plus all of the actual liquids in this recipe are absorbed into the shower steamers.
I am concerned about the essential oils ruining the finish in my shower. My shower is fiberglass. Have you heard of anyone with any problems? I know essential oils can eat through plastic in a relatively short period of time.
Essential oils can damage plastic but with the shower steamers the water from your shower will be rinsing the surface so any part of the essential oils that weren’t released into the air should just run down your drain. Now if there is any steamer leftover at the end of your shower I would remove it rather than leave it set in the shower pan but I have never heard of anyone having an issue with steamers damaging their shower:)

Is it best to use fragrance oils or essential oils for shower steamers

Great video, very helpful!
Thank you
Thank you for your video, I enjoyed watching
Tracey Jackson thanks!
What was the total measurement of oils that you used for this recipe.
Thanks for this girl!!!

Not sure if they still carry them or not but the molds I used were from brambleberry.com

Thank you so much.❤
Where can I find the molds?
@@kaykayluxe7992 the molds used in the video came from Brambleberry but I don’t believe they carry them any longer unfortunately
As the shower steamer is so big, is that to cut it into small pieces for use by every time?

hi I have a question. will this make ur floor slippery?
No. This recipe wouldn’t make your shower slippery:)
Yes they don't tell you that part!

They dry great with the lid on:)

When you talking about 2 parts and 1 part do you mean cups
So just that it is basically a 2 to 1 ratio. I used ounces in this particular recipe, 20oz baking soda to 10oz citric acid.

What exactly are these for?. Are they just to get a nice smell?
This particular essential oil combination is good not only just for the smell but is also good for respiratory support
Is there any way to speed up the drying process
Running a dehumidifier could help as the humidity where you are can affect how long it takes the steamers to dry
Would I use the same amount of oil if I just wanted to use one oil or would I just do the 1/4 serving for the one oil?
Hello :) It would depend on the oil you wanted to use as different oils have different usage rates.
How many drops of each essential oil did you use in this recipe?
I did 10 ml each of the eucalyptus, lemon and peppermint and 4 ml lavender.
Is one drop the same as one ml?
Where do you get your big bottle of fragrance oil?
