- Part 4!
In order of appearance: Louis Dowdeswell (when he was in NYJO!!), not sure on the name for the one playing lead on 'Children of Sanchez', Ryan Quigley, Andy Greenwood, Brian MacDonald, Kevin Burns, Mike Lovatt, Lynn Nicholson, Mark Zauss, and Bryan Davis.
Lynn Nicholson over that Marine band is hilarious. Just imagining one of those Marines doing that at an official event LOL
Casually adds children of sanchez to every video
Excellent video with some really great trumpet players. Lynn Nicholson sounds phenomenal. On a future video, try to include some clips from performances by Doc Severinsen and Adam Rapa. Both of them occasionally play songs with high-range trumpet parts.
I've included Adam a number of times before! As much as he's awesome, Doc is very popular in these types of videos so I'm trying to stay away from too much of him. Thanks for watching man!!
An underrated performance from Doc (in my opinion) comes from his version of "A Song for You". Because it's not as well known as other clips of Doc, it might be nice to share! It's only audio, but it's incredible. I do understand the inclination to avoid more popular artists though.
If you don't already know, the song is a slow-moving showcase of Doc's incredible control in all registers, and to top it off, he ends on a Double Eb! Even if you don't want to include it in one of these compilations, I highly recommend listening to it. I've been playing trumpet for about 15 years, and it's one of my all-time favorite trumpet performances.
@@MattTheMatix Thank you, thank you, thank you, for mentioning this performance. I just listened to this recording for the very first time on UA-cam. His playing on the last minute of the song is ultra phenomenal. Doc plays with both outstanding range and excellent tone quality.
@@MattTheMatix I've heard it before, listening to it again right now. Unbelievable as usual...
Wow I cannot believe I randomly discovered this new up and coming youtuber, some of the best compilations I have ever seen. Love from India
Nice work. I really enjoy these much more than I should!
Another suggestion for a future video segment is a performance by Dennis Noday (who was in Maynard Ferguson's band) when Dennis was a younger player. Maybe he played some high-range trumpet solo parts with Maynard's band that were recorded.
Lynn Nicholson. Just sick (and hilarious)
Ryan Quigley has the most pleasant lead trumpet tone.
childrens from Sanchez was played by Maciej Gwóźdź from Poland
Thank you so much!
love these videos, keep them coming
Thanks man!
amazin
what video is the clip from 3:55, spain from?
Where did you get that footage of the Airmen of Note outdoors at the capital? Would love to see that in full
wow I cannot tell what octave that is in at 3:10. Do you know how many octaves that is above high F? 1 or 2?
I believe it’s concert pitch Eb7 (F7 in Bb)
Where can I find the clip at 4:25
It's something you have to rent/pay for but it's really really good - 100% worth a rent in my opinion.

Crazy!
@@LeoHuangNZ Sweet, thanks!
Another great video
Still no Joshua Gawe though
I'll get him next time maybe. The reason why I haven't looked too much of him is because he is often in these sorts of videos. I'll have a look though! I reckon most of his stuff will be with Lucky Chops which is shared around a lot!
What.... No Tastee Bros? 🤣
You want vulgar - get some Vaughan Nark in here. The beginning of Over The Rainbow is especially bad.
