He didn't say, "WEAR MY CROSS AROUND YOUR NECK, TO REMEMBER ME"! HE SAID, "And whosoever doth not bear His cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." Do not change 'bear' to 'wear'!

Irwin Tilley and Sandie Frankenstein - There have been many documentaries over the years, speaking to the heinous Roman crucifixion. As Brandon explained, a true crucifixion was intended to be humiliating, as painful as it could be and long-suffering. Remember, Jesus was the Son of Man, but God in his own right. The Thursday before the crucifixion, after the Last Supper, Jesus took the disciples, Peter, John and James, to the Garden of Gethsemane, as he wanted to pray. He asked them to stay back and pray and went forward. As he was praying, as God, he was able to see and feel what was ahead - the scouraging, the carrying of the cross and the actual crucifixion. He was perspiring and the tears he shed were mixed with blood. He asked His Father if it was possible for " this cup to pass me by. Not as I will but as yours". Three times he prayed this request, returning to his sleeping disciples in between. And, each time, his Father didn't answer him. So, not only did he experience agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, he realized God was not going to intervene. Long story (a major flaw). I have worn a cross as an infant. When I started school, we all wore crosses. But, as an adult, I wear a crucifix (Jesus on the cross) 24/7 as a reminder that Christ endured what he did because of my sins; everybody's sins. He did this so that I would be spared hell and would be with him eternally in Heaven. I never want to forget how much I am loved, even though I still have "debts" because of sin. There has never been a time when anyone said anything negative to me about my crucifix. And, only before I am cremated may it be removed. My God bless you and your family always.
I read through the comments here and am shocked. All of the comments show how much each of you love God and are proud to speak out. Thx to all of you for your beautiful comments, God bless.
Amen. I wear a cross made of clear quartz crystal with a paracord chain/rope. I have it just long enough to hide and not everyone sees it because I wear baggy clothes most of the time. Sometimes it flies out but it never really bothered anyone.
I went out and bought a cross to wear after hearing this message. I am not ashamed of what it stands for and I’m wearing it proudly for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
You should reapply your mind and think what you are wearing. How does one forget about to The Most High Yahweh to honor his son before him. Your embarrassement should be pointed to what this video goes against on. Actually made no sense. "Jesus Christ our GOD" what lol.
@@RowanWarren78 Question to your answer.. Where does it say we are suppose to follow a "religion"? Like who are your people? Are they of the The Most High good book? I could go on and on so..
@@RowanWarren78 Its common sense but scriptural. No man before The Most High. Also the wood or stone is not to be worshipped. What are the two top religions? What are there symbols?
I was 11 and I got Baptized and when I did right after my mom and dad gave me a cross necklace and I never ever ever take it off it’s just a reminder that I belong to God
I needed this video today. Wearing a cross for me is about a covenant with God. It's a reminder of what Jesus did for me. Its a reminder that I don't need to walk through life alone, Jesus walked and walks with me, I just have to trust Him and remember that His love for me was so deep that He chose to be humiliated for me. He chose a public display to show His love for me, I choose a public display to show that I am His.
It seems people have long forgotten what the cross actually means. If you really look at the text, and the origins of the cross, you'll see that Jesus didn't actually die on a cross, but a simple stake. Also the image of the cross is actually rooted in pagan Babylonian origins. The cross existed long before Jesus even came to earth. Moreover, the Bible strongly warns Christians to “flee from idolatry,” which would mean not using the cross in worship.-1 Corinthians 10:14; 1 John 5:21. Significantly, Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:34, 35) Jesus thereby indicated that self-sacrificing love-not the cross or any other image-would identify his true followers.
@@iAdden, Jesus said take up your cross and follow me... Bible also call the cross a tree, more symbolism that take us right back to the garden... Much more to add but think it is enough.
I received my first cross when I was 12 years old from my beloved father. Fifty years later I still wear that simple cross. Thank you for this video to reminder me of what it represents and the tremendous sacrifice of Jesus Christ, my Savior & Lord

I was so lost as a teenager, ran away from home. One evening a man was wearing a cross that caught my eye, in a large crowd of people. The next morning I felt the Lord guiding me back home. "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23 For any Christians who have never studied the actual process of a Roman crucifixion, you really ought to. As a Christian I've struggled with wearing a cross. One one hand a profession of faith. Unfortunatelly it has become a pop culture piece of jewelry worn by non believers as well as believers, thus taking away some of the importance. I'm more impressed with those who wear a fish symbol. Full discloure: I do not wear jewelry, but support believers that do. Be a blessing.
In Christ Alone! We are bought with a price. To live is Christ to die is gain. Thank you for this message. May we humble ourselves and take up our cross daily.
Thank you brother, great video. I am Orthodox. It is a tradition in the church to wear the cross. In fact,, many receive one upon baptism. There are two schools of thought on the wearing of it. The traditional one is that Christ stated that if we want to be his disciples, we are to pick up our cross and follow Him. As it is not jewelry, according to this tradition you wear it beneath your clothing to remind yourself that you bear the cross of Christ. The other belief is that one wears it publicly to compel others to ask you about it. Thank uou again.
Mine is only visible if I'm wearing a tank top or something like that. I love Jesus and I don't want to treat the cross as a mere accessory. Mine is made of clear quarts and paragard rope so it is water proof (made of nylon). I didn't want one made of metal.

The best way to honor the Lord is to make a statement with your behavior. Talk (and symbolism) are cheap. Pray...fast...read your Bible and submit to the Lord...that is the statement we all need to make...not jewelry around our necks (or elsewhere) that pagans also wear...and that was introduced to out faith via mithraism

This was such an interesting presentation! I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for years we stayed away from discussing the cross itself in depth. Our thinking was that the cross represented the absolute worst time of His life and we prefer to focus on His life. In the last several years our leaders and so many of our well respected writers have started drawing our attention to the Cross. I can’t say when we will get to the point of seeing the cross as something good or as you see it as a representation of our love for Christ. I do know that we now see it in many different but positive ways. One of the professors I listen to, likes to kind of take it apart into the vertical, which represents Christ’s love for us and our love for Him and the horizontal represents our love for all those around us. Kind of blending the two great commandments. Again, I really enjoyed your perspective on this.
Love this video! I agree we wear the cross, so we can also be a beacon of light and help point people to Christ Jesus! Our Lord and Savior. God Bless brother
When you are a Christian, others will soon know. You won’t need a cross to identify you. God will know, the devils will know and people seem to work it out pretty fast too. Didn’t you notice that when you were born again?
I wear a crucifix not to let others know I am a Christian. More to remind me how much my Lord suffered and died for me a worthless person. The snares of life often pull my attention away but my crucifix reminds the price my Lord paid for me to redeem me.
What if someone only sees you once? God expects you to sow in the smallest ways so that he can reap where you don't appear to be sowing. You should never encourage anyone (ever) to diminish their witness for Christ... examine yourself.
“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.” Mark 7:8-9 “ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4 The Christian says, “But, Jesus knows what’s in my heart by wearing a cross.” - God says, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 Even satanic rock stars and Hollywood elites wear crosses. It’s NOT about the cross, but He who was nailed to it. It’s NOT even about the resurrection, but He who defeated death. The Romans began this worship of the cross in the 5th century. “Come out of her My people!” If you would be obedient to Torah as Yeshua, His disciples, and Paul were, this would be obvious. Do not follow man-made traditions, whether by rabbinic oral laws or Roman edicts.
We don't worship the cross, we wear it because it represents the sacrifice that Yeshuah made for us. It represents his victory over death. And it represents our commitment to make our own daily sacrifices in putting away our sinful nature and walking the narrow path of righteousness with Yeshauh.
It’s quite simple, unless you’re stuck on traditions. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4 “Worship at the cross” at your own risk. Idols like crosses only dilute that it’s only about Him.
Remembering the pain He endured drives home to us the incredible grace God has given us! It should cause us to strive to be faithful to the One who loved us enough to go through that pain as He gave His life for us!
Christian should reply the JW: "Why would you continue to follow and stay in the WatchTower Society that has well documented evidences in their publications over the years of telling lies against Jehovah/Jesus, giving false prophecies 1914, 1975, etcetera and denying that they were spirit driven when they told these false prophecies, trying to use a false reading of the Bible text to say that the disciples of Jesus also lied about the coming kingdom of God when the disciples only asked or thought. Hence, trying to justify the JW lies in their publications, the continual changed teachings of theirs, etcetera.

@@irvintilley7229 The Greek word for the instrument on which Jesus died is Stauros which means a single pole. Not a cross.

Its common sense but scriptural.
Points well taken. May we never forget what the cross means.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it. Most importantly though; we must remember not to rely just on the cross around our neck, or... We are His vessels and He can use us to reach the lost. I wear a cross as a symbol of my love and devotion to Jesus and also to remind me that He is always with me.
I regularly wear a cross on my jacket lapel and it has inspired quite a few conversations. It also reminds me as to how I should behave, when I sometimes feel tempted to do or say something which perhaps is not the best thing to do.
I was so lost as a teenager, ran away from home. One evening a man was wearing a cross that caught my eye, in a large crowd of people. The next morning I felt the Lord guiding me back home. Started reading my Bible, joined a group where I studied the Word & learned how to pray. My friends who walked in faith & lifted me up in prayer.

Thank you I really needed that,,,you sum it up very well for me thank you again and god bless you
Thanks! And thank you for watching!
What ever..
Thank You Jesus!!! ❤️
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Conviction from our Lord through this teaching. Praise God and thank you Brandon.
I’m definitely gonna wear a cross now!🥰
Love this video!
Very touching and insightful, a well explanation of the meaning behind a cross !
“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.” Mark 7:8-9
“ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Exodus 20:4
The Christian says, “But, Jesus knows what’s in my heart by wearing a cross.” - God says, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9
Even satanic rock stars and Hollywood elites wear crosses. It’s NOT about the cross, but He who was nailed to it. It’s NOT even about the resurrection, but He who defeated death. The Romans began this worship of the cross in the 5th century. “Come out of her My people!”
If you would be obedient to Torah as Yeshua, His disciples, and Paul were, this would be obvious. Do not follow man-made traditions, whether by rabbinic oral laws or Roman edicts.
Amen Scott , how ppl don't see this !!! This is a carved image ? Man made , Remember ppl Satan is a MASTER deceiver be wise search for the truth!!!!
Agreed
We don't worship the cross, we wear it because it represents the sacrifice that Yeshuah made for us. It represents his victory over death. And it represents our commitment to make our own daily sacrifices in putting away our sinful nature and walking the narrow path of righteousness with Yeshauh.
Was the serpent of brass that Moses hung up that foreshadowed the crucifixion of Yeshauh an idol? (Numbers 21)
That was a very down to earth explanation Thankyou.
That cross is so beautiful. 💕
It reminds me of who I belong to !!!!! Not if this world , But his!!!!
JW say “why would you want to wear something that depicts the pain Jesus endures”?
JW's reluctance to embrace the cross is because they have not experienced salvation _through_ the cross.
Well said, and powerfully put
Enjoyed your explanation ❤️
