One thing not mentioned in the video is, when you begin the audio porting section, you will not be able to hear audio coming through your computer. You can tell if the audio is working because you'll see the levels changing in OBS. If you want it to port and hear it through the speakers/headphones, you'll need to create a MIDI device. To do that, you need to open the "Audio MIDI Setup" utility on your Mac, the press the plus sign at the bottom left and click "Create Multi-Output Device." Lastly, make sure there's a check mark for both the device you want to listen through, and SoundFlower.
Creating the MIDI device is really only relevant for those wanting to use this tutorial for Mac gaming.
WINDOWS USERS:
For the Audio Porting you can go download the Virtual Audio Cable from the link below to set up your porting. Once it's downloaded and installed, you'll need to open your Playback Devices (right click the speaker in the bottom right hand corner), Under the Playback tab, Choose the Virtual Audio cable and make it the default for all your sounds. Next go to the Recording devices tab, right click on the Virtual Audio Cable, and open the properties. Click on the Listen tab, Check the box that shows "Listen to this device". Now you can choose the device you want to listen to the audio through. NOTE: You'll need to make sure that the source in OBS for your Audio will need to reflect the Virtual Audio Cable also.

Also, some of the things look a little different now. Twitch alerts website and restream both look different so it took me a bit to figure out some things but I got it all working! @Tylegn hey I just wanna first say thank you because your video really did help a lot and everything worked fine I just have a little problem. I have obs up and running, everything looks fine when streaming and the sound is fine after I played with it after a while. The only problem is that I cant get the party chat from ps4 to be heard by the audience. I'm a windows user and right now I'm just using my c270 cam for my mic to record me and using my A50 astros for the game audio. You can hear the game play, me talking, and if I'm playing music all just fine you just cant really hear the party. they all have their voices able to share while streaming, and their at a decent level volume in my headphones I was just trying to get some light shed on this

Hey quick question, so I followed all of the steps in the video, though as it's 3 years old some things are out dated but everything worked pretty well, the only thing I ran into was I cannot stream to youtube from my xbox so instead I did everything you did essentially through mixer, I am capturing the display off of my monitor, but I cannot hear any audio watching twitch from my phone and I'm not sure why no audio is going through, i checked everything the audio output is on soundflower so im not sure whats wrong, other than that super helpful video

So as far as making my own labels that's all through TwitchAlerts so I don't have to use the pre made one so see everyone using right? And as far as audio and capture from console onto a monitor how do you configure that. And thanks a bunch for this video you couldn't have simplified this process anymore. I recall what you said at the beginning and that's literally every video I've seen up until now.

The text scroll is all one single line of words or a single word . I tried to modify the file within twitch alerts , I tried to insert spaces or symbols nothing works the text just re-edits himself . Any clues guys ? , great video btw
Do you play music in the background of your streams? Do you have a hype intro? If so how do you utilize that stuff? You using a USB mic into the PS4 and so are playing music from Spotify on the PS4? I'm curious as to how that would work with this method.
+Erik Coon I don't play music on my streams but I have it set up so that it can. (Moobot on Windows) Stream intro? I have a trailer I play and that is setup using another Scene in OBS as a media source. Using this method your voice is captured through your normal game chat so no need for another mic. I think that covers those questions.
So you were using 2 monitors to stream correct? Do you need to have 2 monitors with OBS?

I’m getting an error message in trying to download soundflower that just tell me to contact the software manufactorer for assitance. I’ve searched through their faq and bug issues but haven’t found any solutions.

Thanks for the indepth tutorial! A couple of questions: I'm unclear what the Soundflower is for. I'm going to be streaming from my Xbox using the Xbox app, won't that OBS automatically pull the sound from my Xbox as as what I'm saying in my mic?
Also, How do I figure out which Streaming Settings to use that will work for my computer? (bitrate, encoder, etc.) Trial and error?

JHgamer101 Things have changed a little since this dropped 2 years ago. Now Streamlabs has their own app instead of the chrome plugin. On Streamlabs it’s the left side of the page under widgets. Download the streamlabels app

When I downloaded the streamlabs thing, the files all went onto my desktop seperately. However when I tried to put them all in one file, they would keep duplicating and kept going onto my desktop separately, why is this and how do I stop it? Please help and respond asap it would mean a lot to me :)

I downloaded all the stuff but can't seem to get past having matrix of my desktop on Mac view in my obs. How do I actually get what I'm viewing on my Xbox one tv twitch stream into the obs viewer? I'm trying to do it with 2 twitch accounts as you can't stream to UA-cam from Xbox one. Any help be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Great Vid mate, At 13:45 you say the browser source by default will display the obs project page, for some reason mine does not. The Url is clearly showing the obs project address but my properties box is just grey or blank. Any Ideas ? I have checked that the source is a display capture and the alert box sits on top. Thanks
I forgot to mention I have already done this, I get the twitch alert sound fx when I test but no picture.
The stream labels, when i click scroll, they don't have a space? Like instead of 4 just scrolling, it's 44444 just scrolling through. This is the same with Most recent follower the name just repeats, so for example teekayyteekayy it scrolls like that. Any idea how to fix this ?

I download and installed OBS, but when I click on the icon on desktop, it say :
obs64.exe-System Error
The program can't star because MSVCP 120.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
