Get used to it, every mid size truck is going this route. It’s just a matter of time before they all have 4 cylinder turbo/hybrid engines. As for cost, they’re all expensive, not just Toyotas.
4 banger turbo, no good. Will never last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. Moved US based jobs to Mexico. Mexico quality is horrendous. price is 15K too high. I'll be buying a Frontier.
@@conehead44534453 I'm sure there have been Toyota, Ford, Chevy and every other manufacturer that had a blown engine with low miles. One bad apple does not ruin the batch. If there were engine issues, we would all know about it. But the Nissan's are pretty bomb proof too. Not quite the caliber of Toyota and Honda, but they are up their.
its like every aspect of the 4th gen is worse in every way. too expensive, no v6, and made in mexico. id consider buying one if they werent so damn expensive.
Hearing engine blows the piston.. Smaller gas tank 18.2 vs 3rd gen at 21.1 gallons with almost the same MPG’s..still no hood gas struts for the price? My 2001 Toyota Camry had hood gas struts.. Bring back the v-6!
Price quality reliability cheap interior poor performing Apple car play gas mileage noisy engine noise are just some additional problems with the Tacoma. Great video
Definitely expensive but what isn’t in 2024. I remember how when the 3rd gen came out how all the haters were bashing it. Well fast forward to now. Get used to it. Once they get the quirks ironed out (btw ALL manufacturers are going through this phase now) then it will be fine. Toyota will always hold their values. That’s just facts.
UUUhhhhhh let's try starting price of $38k for a crappy 2 Wheel drive ugly base crappy turbo. My neighbor has one and now it's in the shop!! This was 2 months ago.....now he's getting rid of it!!!! Turbo junk!
2018 sr5 msrp in the northeast was 35k, now thats 45k. trd was 45k now 55k minimum. plus you are getting a turbo 4. ill take a 2 door as long as it has 4wd but that model is 2wd only. if i wanted 4 doors i would buy an suv.
I have 3 Tacomas 2nd 3rd and 4th. The 4th Tacoma feels great to me. Wether it'll be reliable? We will see. But it drives great and it's fun to drive. Most of the people that downplay it don't own one. If you don't like the price. Don't buy one.
Many buyers want to avoid buying the first year production of a complete redesigned model, especially when there's a new power train without much reliability history. Toyota is moving to Turbo engine too fast. Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, Highlander and Grand Highlander gas models and the new Land Cruiser and 4Runner are all Turbo now.
Everything else is expensive, have you seen what the competition is charging. This video is misleading. Vehicles in general have become out of reach for middle class Americans.
Poor ride quality is a lie lol they are WAY better than the old tacos in that category. The price and the production quality are the real reasons people aren't buying this truck.
Toyota stockers think the introduction of the 4th Gen along with their total new design and gimmicks would be over looked for the gross increased price to attract true truckers. They were wrong. Now live with your mistakes and learn, or not.
they are still working on that engine, why no problems when it was being used as a lexus engine but you install it in a trucks ,now millions of recalls.
@@dirkdiggler2379 we shall see how it goes with this one. But turbos don’t “go out” lmao. Shit Toyota and ford have been making turbo boosted engines for years. Not a pickup BUT I’m going through my granddaughters 2009 Cobalt. About $3000 deep but the thing books for that! It’s gonna be a good car for another 10 years! Less than a dollar a day!
I will be crossing the new Tacoma off my list. Way over priced to the point where I will be looking at other brands. Very disappointed in Toyota and I was a fan.
They are selling except SR/SR5. Toyota is supersizing you like McDonalds, 50 cent more you can get a drink, a little more you can get a TRD Off Road or Sport.
I would buy one if it had a v6. I'm not buying a 4 cylinder turbo truck.
It’s not a 300k engine, Lucky to get 100k with that overworked turbo
Their 2021-2023 Tundra's were going 5-10 k and blowing up.
People dont like the price, the interest rate and the turbo!
no access cab , 2 door with 2wd only. no thanks
Well said. Things that most reviewers avoid saying in fear of getting their future Toyota review vehicle feed cut off.
over priced 4 cylinder turbo that no one wants!

Toyota betting on turbo engines is a mistake. Ford went that road and is still paying the price.
4 banger turbo no way
This truck will be a bow wow like tundra
4 banger turbo, no good. Will never last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. Moved US based jobs to Mexico. Mexico quality is horrendous. price is 15K too high. I'll be buying a Frontier.
yea. been a tacoma buyer for decades. no longer. the v6 aspirated frontier is much more appealing.
I'm also considering the v6 Frontier.
Just so y’all know I had a Nissian and it blew the engine at 40,000 miles. Had to have the engine replaced
Also considering the frontier, Toyota fd its fan base.

Why so many people are complaining? Principles and purpose of a truck are work. If you don't like it, get a SUV.
The main reason they're not anything but SR5 on the lots, no TRD off roads

Gee. What went wrong?
Drum brakes on rear axle..thats ancient technology..
Haha this guy is ancient too
Easy answer….. 65 K plus taxes and financing for the TRD PRO that used to be under 45k?

First won’t be reliable as V6. And second engine will blow as the tundras just give it some times. I’m glad I purchased a Tacoma 21. V6.
With all this , don’t see why anyone would buy one
😂
Tacoma is supposed to be mid size. Is actually bigger than the F150. No wonder gas mileage is poor.
Why is it so big?

This video is paid and sponsored by rivals, Yes, I am not fan of 2.4 turbo but others manufacturers and putting turbos too.
Paying more getting less!! I will keep my 2021 Tocoma v6. I will not own anything that comes with a turbo.
