That's actually a quite fitting quote for G-man, considering how Half-Life 1 takes place in New Mexico, while Half-Life 2 takes place in eastern Europe.
1 million witnesses to this masterpiece
I had to take a minute to shout out how much I adore the "bad greenscreen" lines around G-Man here. Really nailing that 80s "bad bluescreen" look from the original video.
It's those tiny little extra things that really sells it man. Great job!
I believe the effect you're referring to is Chromatic Aberration, FYI.
@@carrotsporks not really, with chromatic aberration you get a rainbowed outline, but this outline is just green
caught that too! very nice!
@@dsdy1205 there is also chromatic aberration used
It's the same as it ever was
I mean this with 100% sincerity:
This affects me on an emotional level in a way that the original didn't even do

LETTING THE HEADCRABS GO BY!
I thought G-Man's motions was really strange and robotic, but then I watched the original, and they're spot on! Amazing video!
I love how you even managed to replicate the imperfection of the green screen key. Great work!!
I thought that was just chromatic abberation at first. But I guess G-man was in front of a green background then the usual techniques were used.
He finally finished it, the absolute madman.
The right animator in the wrong place, can make all the music, in the world.

I can't tell if your animation has gotten smoother since this or if it's just that David Byrne was really stiff in the original music video and you captured it perfectly

If you ever so a follow up, do Thomas Dolby's song from the movie Toys, The Mirror Song. That would really fit the G-Man.

“Where does that highway go to?”
To a nice lighthouse.
Oh yes!
This is simultaneously incredibly out of character and incredibly in character.
Close-ups on G-Man's face during this animation are hypnotizing, nice job.

Not gonna lie. This was Always a radio song for me as I had no clue of it's name or it's artist. And was only played on the radio as I knew no one that would play this song elsewhere, so It has stayed under my radar. Now I know both Name and Artist and the actual video that this is based on. I love this video. Its such a fantastic Passion Project. It comes across my recommended videos every now and again and I always watch it. Then afterwards I am humming the tune to myself for days. Much Love Corey
Honestly, this song encapsulates the ethos of the G-Man perfectly. The uncertainty of self. Seemingly being in multiple places at once, yet not knowing where. And yet, in the end, acceptance and no fear. I love it.
HOW DID I GET HERE?!
The once in a lifetime song cover is under our control for the time being thanks to you...
This is THE BEST
SFM is such a blessing
I swear, The G-Man Model from Alyx is so realistic it keeps confusing my brain slightly, especially in the close ups. The fact that you animate it so well probably doesn’t help XD
