I'll have 300 miles in my SC Trainer v2 by the time the v3 comes out (August 1st). If it doesn't suck I am definitely getting it. The V2 is just a shoe I can wear any day for any run and be glad I did.
I liked the way you described your way of making a purchasing decision. Word of mouth over time is the clincher for me too. Once the initial hype and fanfare dies down, if people are still talking about it then okay we might be onto something. Thanks for the feedback on the Skyward X and Mizuno Neo Vista.

I'm just here for the funny stuff you say because I cannot care less about shoe reviews. I hear you on leaving the toothpaste cap off 😂. All my kids do that and it is so annoying.
You definitely need to get the Adidas Adizero SL2 considering how much you like the Takumi Sen. the SL2 has a lot of similar feel underfoot to the Sen but in a daily trainer type setup. The first run out of the box can feel a little “chaotic” with how soft and bouncy the midsole is. After that, the shoe breaks in really nicely and feels great at a wide range of paces. It has exceeded my high expectations I had for the shoe. Also, if you are an Adidas AdiClub member, you could trade in points for a voucher for a percentage off full price items. I traded in points for a 30% off voucher and got the SL2 for $91 on release morning (roughly an hour after going on sale).
Looks like I’m becoming an ADICLUB member ! This is fantastic intel Matt Beier , thank you . I’m looking forward to this. Feels like it could be this years rebel v3 as far as more minimal daily trainer. Everyone is going wider , even the takumi. I like a bit more narrow

Three Body Problem: Otherwise known as the SC Trainaaahhh V3. Or, as I like to say the 1080 V13, SC Trainer V2 & Rebel V4 decided to have a Ménage à trois at a marathon major, thus the SC Trainer V3 was born.
SC trainer v2 is a 40mm stack height, but a 6mm drop. V3 should be the same. I wish they went to a smaller drop like the Fresh Foam X More or SC elite v4 (4mm drop)
@@MidLifeRunner for me personally the higher the stack height the less drop I want, to strike with mid foot. If there’s a big drop it makes me prone to heel striking which is less stable with those high stack heights and can lead to the shoe getting out from under me a bit more. Everyone is different of course
Yeah I’m just hoping there is a big drop I can feel. I tried the sc elite 4 and it was too wide. Bouncy for sure but not aggressive . Might as well get the mizuno shoe for that

What about New Balance Balos or More V5? Need some more reviews of those before I pull the trigger. Starting my marathon training block in a few weeks 😊

Yeah I jumped the gun on skyward x hype. I will get 500 miles out of it for sure - but it’s not exciting like the Neo vista

The SL2 is totally different from both the B12 and the Takumi Sen (which I both love). It's a fantastic shoe.

And I feel near 150lba is right on the border of it . The Neo vista is almost too mushy
