First pair went up to 1400km before ANY sign of wear, after what one rod broke but I kept them for another 100km. Second pair is still in use after 900km and nothing to complain about at all. Love them.

Great review Andy. I just went over the 200 mile mark in a pair last weekend. It’s like the “workhorse of super shoes” for me. Not the softest, not the bounciest but just gets the job done. Fingers crossed 🤞 the rods stay intact for longer as I try to keep putting miles in it. Great review

I've seen other posters on here claim high mileage. I'd agree. I'm up to over 500 miles in my first pair and they are as respojsive as ever. I bought a 2nd hand pair of Boston 12s this week thinking they would be a daily version of the Pro 3s but they aren't a patch on the Pro 3s.

Hi Andy thanks for a great review as always. So basically, can we keep using the shoes despite the clicking sound? I just got a new pair with a nice discount, took them out of the box, battled with the lacing until getting it right, walked on them a bit and noticed this clicking sound in the left shoe. Ignored it and went for a run. The sound became noisier, then it was not 1 but rather 3 consecutive "clicks" that now sound squeaky. So after 10 miles every step produces a squeaky sound. It doesn't seem to affect performance, so I am not sure if it has to do with a broken rod or a problem with air trapped between layers of foam or issues with the glue inside the shoe. I loved the ride tbh. But now I cant stop thinking that I spent so much money for a faulty shoe :(
In my country we dont have any sort of satisfaction guarantee after the shoe has signs of wear. And it is new on the outside haha, it is just the clicks and squeaks inside that dont let my mind be at ease 😢

Run in mine 650km. Washed 5 times in washing machine. The foam was still good, no holes or any visible wear in upper. Outsole had visible usage but still in really good condition.
And in such condition I sold them for 45eur
Really nice shoes and if you are lucky you can wear them for 1000km or even 1200km

I LOVE the midsole but have a lot of problems with the comfort of the upper. (Tendon issue because of rubbing upper, painfull laces, slipping heel) The outsole got loose after 200km (glued it back several times) and now I got a big tear in the side of the upper after 400km. I hope I can get a second pair with discount and hope the new model will have a beter fit.

Like the heel tab trick - just started doing that to mine as the stitching was causing serious blisters.
Regarding the rods - had a broken one on some 2nd hand Adios Pro 2 (from @TimGrose) and lasted ages without causing any injury.
For comparison with the Pro 3 - mine (one of many pairs) has over 900k and is still going strong. Lightstrike Pro and the upper/outsole combo seems to go on forever!

Curious why you seemed to have pronation issues in the Takumi Sen, but not the Pro. You'd almost think the Pro would be worse with the higher stack of the same foam. My TS8's are at 440km, are still going strong and are WAY more versatile than people give them credit for distance wise.

  • @TimGrose

Makes you wonder what the rods are actually doing for us if you think the shoe still feels fine with broken ones. As I recall with adidas sizing your foot length (being I think 30.5 cm so a bit longer than my 30.2 cm) is then right on the mark of what adidas suggest for a UK 13.5 (US 14) so not surprised some shoes in that size are a bit short for you. It's fine for me. Just checked and done 240 miles in mine but that's now over 2 years and so it is a shoe I tend to now wear now and again. Find it just a bit too heavy for an out and out race shoe but yeah for some intervals and indeed long runs it does a good job and does indeed still seem to be holding up well. That said never quite know how it really compares to a new pair as don't have one. That would be a good test versus a pair with broken rods. Think I would be worried that might then be effecting my gait in seemingly already a shoe where your foot is not quite in the intended place.

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  6 місяців тому +1

Yeah I do worry it might affect my gait too, but I honestly can’t feel a difference other than an annoying click!
Compared to other shoes in the supershoes category, it’s definitely on the heavier end of the spectrum… but as a long run and DT shoe, it’s proving to be extremely useful!

I've the pro2 and pro3, the pro3 has two bands that runs from the front of the shoe to the laces, which the pro2 doesn't. Lost a toenail because of it on the pro3 so will probably cut a hole like you did as its an excellent midsole

    • @TheFODRunner
