I've found myself falling on my cutbacks mid turn, similar to what Steve was doing. This was super relatable and helpful! Maybe even a little more helpful than analyzing a pro (which I always love from you guys). Thank you!

I’ve been wondering the same thing for YEARS and it was helpful to watch the pro breakdown but this one hit differently! I’ve had the same problem of not being able to apply pro breakdowns. I haven’t applied what was on this video yet but it unlocked something in my mind. The statement “his twist is broken” really made something click in my thought process. I’ll be able to get the cutback correctly about 10% of the time and could never figure out what it was. The closing of the front arm that leads to locking up is exactly what happens to me and ends up making me lean! Do more of these breakdowns! I’ll keep y’all updated to see my cutback percentage increases. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Awesome!! Well done to Steve, so relatable. I've just reviewed the (Backside) footage I have of myself and yes I need to "Get the arm out the way - Pass the flippin' coffee!!" 🙂

Fantastic to see how Steve has progressed and really useful to help others look at their own surfing 🤙

I would like to echo others regarding, more like this... that being said... I would interested in you doing a Coaches Eye on Kale Brock. It would be very interesting to have your take on someone who has also has developed a coaching approach for surfers and surfskaters.

Very helpful coaches eye - love it! I think we can all see ourselves in Steve to some degree, I know I can see the same challenges in my own surfing (thanks to Steve for his courage!). One improvement to this style of coaches eye would be to share with us specifically how we can "train away" the small bad habits you identified. I understand intellectually, as I do with all your tips, but I don't know how to "retrain" my muscles to do what my mind wants.
How might we specifically train ourselves to get our shoulders/arms out of the way?
    Keep up the great work!

Get a job as a Barista and you'll be a pro after passing a few coffees!

Or ask Mick fanning for a job at Balter brewery. You can pour and pass beer.

@@ombesurf HA - I love the idea of working the bar or the barista, plenty of "pass the coffee" reps to be had! BTW - I develop learning/training curriculums for a living, and you're doing a great job with OMBE. Thanks, looking forward to more useful tips...

Steve, Thanks so much for your humility and dedication to crush the turns after your improvements. What did Steve do to correct this? Did he practice the surf skateboards to reprogram the arm movements or just work in the water?

Hi Robert. Thanks. The skateboarding helped the most as I was able to do it over and over again and focus on getting my arms right

I completely understand you're lunge positioning. But one question pops into my mind. When you're popping up, which part of the back foot touches the board? I understand the sprinter analogy, but you can't leave your heal without contact with the board. Or can you? That's a question that i can't answer after viewing almost all your content. Love you guys.
