I really don't think Rachel deserves either of them. The Jodies can be together if they want, I guess, since Nick clearly knew about Eric and yet continued the relationship. But even then, it sounded to me like Rachel took advantage of Nick being in a vulnerable state so that she could get a few cheap thrills. And regardless of what was going on in Rachel and Eric's relationship, the simple fact of the matter is that she never broke up with him before moving on to another man. No matter what, Rachel is in the wrong.
So you missed a couple of variations here which I thought you should know: (NOTE: These are ALL possible in Theatrical Cut. This took long, hope you read it and it helps lol!) 1. It is possible in Theatrical Cut for Nick to be nice to Eric after Rachel is infected. You have to make sure there is no negative impact between Nick and Eric. (You might have to avoid Eric and Nick fighting after Rachel returns from the bloodpit and it is related to point number 3 down below). If you manage that, if you choose "Did you love her?" as Eric, Nick replies "I never told her I loved her" to which Eric goes "We both did". And Nick replies "We will do this man. Together. For Rachel". And if you choose Eric to blame Nick for "making her lose focus" if Nick likes you, it is him instead who tries to make a truce with you and then you as Eric have a choice to be "Agreeing" (= Nick and Eric become friends) or "Contemptuous" (=Nick and Eric remain enemies). 2. If all three are alive, and if Rachel picks Nick over Eric, both Rachel and Eric bring up a number of past choices to roast each other. Like here, you didn't hold on to the rope and Rachel brought that up. Here are the possible variations: - If you do hold on to the rope but still were low with Rachel, and if Rachel brought Clarice with her but failed to convince Jason because Eric sides with him, Rachel brings up "Do you remember when you didn't support me and were eager to kill Clarice without trying to help her?" and Eric replies "You don't know what would have happened if we kept her alive". - If Rachel ran in the previous Assault scene and did not help Eric when he was being held up by the Ancient Vampire, Eric can bring up "I should've known this when you left me to die back there to that thing and went with him" - There is a possibility of Rachel being very hostile there and blaming Eric for everything. She says something like "Ever since you arrived in my life today, things have gone to s***. Don't you see that? Nothing good has happened to me in the past few hours." What a major b-word right? 3. There is a possibility that Eric never knew that Rachel was seeing Nick until this scene! If that happens, if Nick and Eric are alive, instead of saying "You and Rachel. I know.", he is enraged at Nick and says "When Rachel said she was someone else, I didn't expect a lowlife like you" or something along those lines. (You can't become friends with Nick in this scenario). And if all three are alive, Eric turns to Rachel and says "When you said there was someone else I didn't know it was him!". So the way you get this is rather interesting. You have to make Jason be rude to Nick always (like in the helicopter be provocative and annoyed at him) and lower Jason and Nick's relationship. If it is low enough, during the radio repair scene (this might be something you wanna add to that video too), when Nick pulls out a cigarette, Jason is impatient and asks him to throw it away and that it was not the time for a smoke, causing Nick to throw away the cig, not realise his lighter is gone causing Eric to not figure it out. And this also prevents the fight between Eric and Nick when Rachel returns. (As far as I know, this is the ONLY possible way in Theatrical Cut to not get them fight each other there, thus also keeping their relationship good.)
After replaying many times, I finally got Nick to make a truce with Eric, you have to request air support instead of saying nothing even though saying nothing doesn’t decrease their relationship
damn is it really impossible for nick and eric to get along if rachel dies early? kinda sad but it's better if she's alive anyways anyways, i don't care if people like or dislike the whole love triangle story but i wish they acknowledged how complex and interesting it is variety wise, it's pretty neat edit: i also saw a variation where eric chose rachel and eric chose to be sympathetic but he instead had a furious reaction, the reaction being "yeah, you two fucking deserve each other" and then him angrily walking away, maybe it's exclusive to shared story or it was simply missed
I think there is a possibility nick and eric can get along with very high relationship or it must play in shared story I want see nick and eric get along too✨
There definitely is but I feel that especially the Nick and Eric one without Rachel is kinda hard in theatrical. I have a lot choices that decrease there relationship(Calling out WP grenades, leaving Nick to die, not believing Nick about Joey) but they hardly had any positives…..the only one I know about is when Nick is taken by Baluthu and Eric saves him but that wasn’t enough to trigger it…..so IDK
@@chrisofthevale there’s a second one that increases their relationship, only in curator’s cut as Nick, if Rachel rejects them both, Eric will say “What just happened?” or “This is your fault.”, then you can reply with “We got dumped.” or “We both lost.”, then the relationship increases
If Rachel end romance with Eric, then Rachel will bring the fact that eric didn't support Rachel when she try to convince Jason to not shoot clarice, if rachel was okay about cutting the rope or that didn't happen of course, but i dosen't matter, just be always nice when you are alone with her and that will make her choose Eric :P Also Nick and Eric can get along if Eric didn’t let Rachel fall and he and him try to be nice to eachother as always possible and if Eric didn't find out early that Nick has something with Rachel (Jason and Nick need to low relation for that) then that can make it more possible to both be buddys, what makes possible a one or two good outcomes in Nick survival
Thanks, this is what I was missing. I didn’t have single negative in Eric and Nicks relationship but he still hated Eric meaning you have to had held on to that rope……which kinda means Merwin has to die in order for that to happen since Eric would die if not…..
So I tried to do this with the save file that had the most positive Eric/Nick relationship but it still wasn’t enough…….and I honestly don’t know what more choices there are in the theatrical version if the game to improve their relationship…..but I didn’t start a new file just for this so there probably is someway or maybe it’s easier in curator’s cut
In the elevator scene, Nick will tell Jason they need to work together for Salim, Jason, and Rachel, zooming onto Eric's face when Nick says Rachel. And I think Eric gives Nick his wand so Nick can save himself if he goes deeper into the hive.

8:13 LOOK AT ERIC'S EYES LOL HE'S GLARING
Yeah!
When the eyes are like this - Eric is about to kick someone's ass!
5:35
I have never heard this line by Eric before!
And hell these are facts!
He can be anyone - but Eric's definitely not a coward!
The only valid love triangle in this game is Jason, Salim and the alien city that makes them risk their life for one another

Thanks for the info!!! I will probably do a video in the end doing all of these more rare variations. Thanks!!!

15:12 Damn That's A Change Of Voice
Lmao I’ve never heard that one before 🤣
That evil laugh tho
When eirc and nick survive, nick hates me when Rachel died.5:10 5:30 8:04 8:22 11:50

@@thedatabreaches but that happens after this part so I would need it to happen before so I can get them to act nice to each other on this part.
@@chrisofthevale it’s probably automatic, you have to do it with two players i guess

@@chrisofthevale that’s right, this game needs a option to skip scenes :/
The lack of emotion on Rachel's eyes ruins every scene.
2:20 Nick
tbh i feel like rachel and eric have better chemistry but i dont like rachel that much so i dont care 😃
What happens if you act respectful towards Nick and you have good relationship with him?
