I love the game called “Enslaved” because there was a scene where one guy tried to fight with another guy over the girl and second guy was like “how could you even think about that right now??”. It was so refreshing to see this trope being called out. I hate when two guys fight over girl in the middle of some kind of disaster.
Same, I really like Eric. I saw the ending portion of the game and the person I was watching Eric was already dead. So all I saw was Nick and Rachel's relationship. I liked Nick, but seeing Eric I like him more.
I think eric is either super likeable or super unlikeable based on player choice, but nick doesn’t get as much characterization in my opinion. i did prefer rachel and eric together too :)

At the start of my run, I shipped Nick and Rachel because I thought that Eric and Rachel were done but didn't get the chance to divorce because of their work apart from each other. We meet Eric; rational, insecure and considerate in all situations. I loved his way of speaking with everyone, paying respect to each character when they were doing great and all. He might be a bit of an asshole when it comes to Salim but it's more because he hasn't really had the time to understand him unlike Jason and Nick who had enough time when fighting by his side. Eric isn't a great fighter but he still knows how to avoid getting murdered in the chamber when there is approximately five to six "demons" trying to kill them with only a handgun and a UV light. From how I played him, he was a considerate leader knowing how to keep the group together. On the other side, Nick is a pretty well rounded character even though he is pretty silent for the whole game because of personal guilt he feels. His character is brave, defensive and knows how to fight even though there is many moments where he feels "different". The times you are playing him, he can only get better relation with Salim and Jason. I basically got to 100% relation with Eric and Rachel without even trying to get her. I was truthful to Eric as Rachel not hiding the truth behind her relationship. I was understanding of his actions but still kept distance between her and him. They got together at the end and I was happy but then, I realized that the only way they could be separated would be by playing as a complete asshole towards her and Eric when playing the both of them.

Eric viciously killed Nick out of spite. Personally, it felt right to see Eric get shut down like that from Rachel.

Depending on your choice every character can and will screw eachother. -Salim can kill Eric after seeing Jason being trigger happy prick. -Jason can screw him over by leaving him to die in the end. -Rachel can leave Eric to die in the sacrificial chamber or convince the group that Clarice isn't a danger to the team. She will also kill Salim if he killed Eric and Jason is dead. -Nick is the only one who cannot kill directly a character. He only kills indirectly by failing others. He can get people killed because of his mistakes with the tripwire, the fight against Rachel and the Revenant, the battle against Dar when Eric is an hostage. (Honestly, my least favorite character is Rachel. She can screw everyone over and she's so damn rude to everyone for every possible reasons. Mad at Eric for cutting down the rope when she said that he did the right choice by cutting it. Leaving him when he was probably at his lowest after losing a leg and having to learn how to walk again. Cheating on him behind his back in one of the possible scenario and cockblocking Nick by faking not knowing him. She can play with everyone emotions for her own benefit all the while breaking everyone apart)

i can't get over Nick when Rachel chooses Eric. Rachel and Eric were together for years! They are married. They've had a very rough patch due to trauma. Him and Rachel only got together 3 WEEKS AGO!!! 3 WEEKS!! y'all are that serious after that small amount of time? My first play through I was dying when I found out it was only a 3 week relationship. I still can't get over it. It would've been waaaay less ridiculous if they had been together for at least a couple months. But hearing 3 weeks killed Nick's character for me. I dislike him the most. Rachel at least has some good moments.
It was more than 3 wks just that was the time of the incident. Second Nick is arguably the second best character tied with Jason. Salim is first. Nick is a really good guy and so is Eric but he's again arguably a more complete and nicer character then Eric. He's brave and believe in Salim before everybody even with still being a little guarded when they had to tie him up which is understandable

And she has no real conversation with him at this point. Even if she choses him. When she choses Nick, she just talks to Eric and leaves. She had pretty much more time with Eric (and chemistry). With a lot of dialogues to increase their relationship. And we saw a lot of their story! We saw almost nothing of her couple with Nick! We don’t know how they support each other and all (except in a quick flashback that is not enough) Her choosing Nick depends more on her low relationship with Eric than her high relationship with him! And I mean, I ship Rachel/Eric, they are my babies, but this love triangle is not « Just choose whoever you want », I think it is more « canonically » rooting for the husband🤔 And I feel it is sad for Nick because he is the less interesting character. He is just the third wheel with some PTSD. And the girl choses him only if her relationship with her husband is too low!
i dont know, i feel like it would be "more" morally acceptable to choose nick because the beginning showed rachel and nick in a relationship already. so if rachel choose eric, not only was she unfaithful to eric, but also nick as she went back and forth between the two.
Nick was already the side dude, since she was STILL married to Eric. Eric went from being cheated onto getting back with her or Nick went from the side dude not knowing she had a man, and then being the boyfriend.

Does Merwin die no matter what because I'd like to keep him alive as long as possible, but not if it has to force me to cut the rope with Eric (because he'll die if not if Merwin is still alive) I personally want Rachel and Eric together then Nick so what would be the best choice. Just kill Merwin early so they can make it in time so that Eric doesn't cut the rope?

If you get Air Support at the beginning you won't need Merwin fixing the radio. If you choose like this when Merwin asks Jason to leave him behind you can leave Merwin behind and let him die like a man.
This can actually affect Nick's fate depending on what Rachel decide. If Nick was chosen then Eric will intentionally and indirectly kill Nick if he advances to plant bombs unless Nick retreats But if Rachel dumps on both of them or she chooses Eric, Eric will instead be nice to Nick and even give him the UV light if its not broken yet

Was rooting for Eric at first but I saw in a playthrough that even after Rachel chooses him, you’ll be in control of her where you can talk to everyone. Eric will snap at Rachel because of his leg but will become apologetic quickly. That’s when I thought that he might unknowingly keep blaming Rachel from time to time about the accident and that she really shouldn’t be with him🙄 Always on team Nick after seeing their own cutscenes.

Unpopular opinion but I hate Eric an Rachel together. I think Nick an Rachel are a better couple. Eric has no loyalty imo and holds a grudge against Rachel for the leg. Nick has been kind to her throughout the whole game

Rachael and Eric are constantly talking about their relationship together and about moving forward while Rachael never asks about Nick or his well being. For example if she chooses Eric they hug and kiss but if she chooses Nick all she does is tell him “let’s keep moving” they never had a connection it was just a hookup to her.

On my first play through I didn’t cut the rope since I thought I had a chance of saving but seeing how she is if Eric was alive I would’ve offed her too
Unpopular opinion but I hate Eric an Rachel together. I think Nick an Rachel are a better couple. Eric has no loyalty imo and holds a grudge against Rachel for the leg. Nick has been kind to her throughout the whole game
Eric has no loyalty? What about Rachel cheating?! Rachel deserves none of them, they both deserve better

@@SmallShowsTv Rachel only interacts with Nick once at the beginning for 30 seconds and never again until she comes back from her pit in The Assault. She had pretty much time with Eric (and chemistry). We saw almost nothing of her couple with Nick! We don’t know how they support each other and all (except in a quick flashback that is not enough)
@@breakofdawn5249 I know but that’s the point that the developers were making. Rachael and Eric are constantly talking about their relationship together and about moving forward while Rachael never asks about Nick or his well being. For example if she chooses Eric they hug and kiss but if she chooses Nick all she does is tell him “let’s keep moving” they never had a connection it was just a hookup to her.
@@SmallShowsTv I got this part with the highest ever relationship with Eric and they did not kiss. He just thanks her like a cutie pie for choosing him. The moment I saw her kissing and hugging him was when she comes back from her pit, he says sorry because the rope snapped and you chose « Love » as Rachel🤔
