As a child I was so intrigued by fishing for Trout. I learned all the names of the Trout, got a rod, a spool and the floating line etc. My Dad even got me an "automatic" reel. I gathered all the equipment to tie flies and practiced all the time. But we never went fishing. I didn't live near even a creek. At age 13 my closest buddy and I packed up a tent and sleeping bags grabbed a bunch of food from our parents pantry and rode our bicycles about 12 miles to a designated Trout Pond on a State Recreation Area. We didn't camp in the campground, we sneaked off the beaten path and hid our little camp inside a stand of man planted red pines that were about 10 feet tall. The next morning we got up befor daylight and got down to the pond where as it got daylight we watched Trout jumping out of the water all over that pond. We couldn't get them to bite so we went to another man made pond, quite a bit larger and swam. That afternoon both of our mothers came looking for us. As we sat at the public picnic area eating late afternoon lunch, we saw the car. Rats, we were planning our attack on those Trout for that evening but when we saw the car it was too late to hide. My buddies bike got a flat tire, and our Moms used it as an excuse to "rescue" us. I'll never forget those Trout jumping like that. Ever I'm 72. ben/ michigan
I have similar memories, Dad & I had the automatic reels back then as well. I'm 64, so I guess those reels were a thing back then. Memories are one of God's greatest gifts to us all. Have a Blessed Day my friend.
My 2 brothers and I would skip school to go fishing....we would pack lunches and and load up my oldest brothers car when Mom wasn't watching....we were lucky my brother was 18 and had a car so we pestered him to take us places....we thought we were pulling the wool over my parents eyes....but they knew what we had planned...we would fish all day had a blast....those days were the great days...we are grown now and have our own kids...we are pushing 70 and still love fishing every chance we get......
Thank you for these two fascinating little fisheries - and thank you, especially, for your call to rally more trout anglers to give back and to get more involved in protecting the streams they love to fish.
I'm glad you explained the spring creek water system in your stomping grounds. Very interesting. I was half expecting an old bearded miner exiting that old shack and asking you for whiskey. A big thanks to you and others cleaning up the trash. Obviously I wish that task wasn't needed. Many people are just so frigging lazy, don't believe in God and His miracles while they're standing in and dumping a tire into one of those beautiful miracles.
I’ve used Tenkara before, it’s tough in these creeks. There’s too much overhead cover, and Tenkara rods are too long. It severely limits where you can cast
Thanks Jon and Trout Unlimited for the clean up. If I'm not mistaken this is a creek is one you fished early on and that's when I started following HFA. You had me hooked.
Nice colors on those fish. Tight lines. Do you know why fish like to be under bridges when it rains? Because they don’t like to get wet. Pro tip for yah.
Great content!! I’m headed down there next week to fish the river for some wild bows and browns. Watching this has me extremely excited to get down there. Thanks!!!!!
Love watching all your videos, I appreciate the explanations of how you choose water and getting to watch what you are targeting from first person POV. Especially for those small jobs
That’s fishing! Picking over your local water, seeing how well you can do when you’ve got the itch and the time to go but conditions aren’t awesome. So much of my time on the water is like that. By the way, these creeks are great! I don’t have small trout streams and love seeing yours. Doesn’t bother me that it’s by the road or channeled or has litter in some places. That’s real! Tight lines!
Sometime could you or Andrew demonstrate that “slingshot “ cast ? I have skipped some skinny creeks with overhead limbs. That slingshot cast could work in some of those places. I really enjoy your videos! Thanks a ton !
I was going to comment about the rubbish 'till you told us that they'd cleared it up. I afraid that it's the same here in the UK. Certainly very different benues from your usual ones, the second one was quite scenic though despite being so near the road. Well done, a good days fishing.
Dude yes! I was wondering if the ditches that you fish were still good, its been a while since you caught that 24 incher out of a culvert, next you should go up north for steelhead, I think it would be fun journey for you both, Love your vids, amazing stuff!✌
Yessir they're still awesome!! I'm not sure that the 24 incher is still alive though. There was a fish kill down a little lower where that fish was and I doubt he survived it. But thanks for watching!
Awesome little stream nothing like wv huh used tires and trout stream all in one haha 😂 I’ve found a few little steams like this one in Northern wv and northeast panhandle area 👍
I use a little black trout magnet in the small creek like that when they are up and flowing bounce it around and Boom real good for catch and release sometimes catch 12-16 inches in creek like that too .
I am by no means a fly fisherman, but definitely interested in getting into it.Anyhow that being said i watch alot of content trying to learn before i give it a try.I have watched videos explaining Tenkara style of fishing and this looks like a prime location for that type of fishing.Correct me if I'm wrong and give me your feedback on this.Fot that matter anyone else please let me know your opinion on this.
As a kid my cousin and I would sit on the bank and trout fish. No fancy waders, no fly rod, no net. We would get guys going up stream fishing saying yea they caught 1 fish. They would laugh at us sitting in the mud until we held up our stringer of 8 trout. We could out fish any trout fisherman
As a avid fisherman it was nice to know that you were using a black wooly bugger... Would really like to know a precice location..city and state would help???
Don’t wanna give out your spot but in all the years I’ve fished that stream never in a million year did I think urban and that town be in the same sentence that place is in the middle of BFE love that stream tho catch some monster browns outta there
❤😊 I remember the Bible saying come on Peter and the rest of you I'll make you fishers of Men that means they would have to be born again or see Jesus in their heart and be baptized and feel what the holy Spirit and now they're fishing for men hallelujah for souls and Jesus said unless the father draw them there is no remission of sin so maybe so that you can turn and repent from your sin and be saved that is our prayers amen 🙏💕🙏

I started fly fishing 3 years ago and have been searching for a big brook trout. I live in northwestern CT and most fish are 5-8 inches, finally found what I was looking for last Wednesday caught a 14”
First of all the first of the video is not Dubai. Next man can make it rain not God. It's called cloud seeding. Was invented in the 1940's and hundreds of countries have used it since

Cool story, hope you ended up catching some
That's an awesome story! Thanks for watching the video

This is one reason why I enjoy your content. You fish all water types and enjoy it all. Most people passover water like that.
Agree here to. I always feel like I’m the only one who fishes non sense like this. Love it
A lot of times the stuff people pass up is the best!! Thanks for watching

No problem! And glad you enjoyed the video
So fun to watch you catch all those tiny trout in that small stream. And those brown trout are just so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
These are my favorite spots - where most likely no one else goes! ❤
Hell yeah! Unsuspecting water can get you great fish!
This stream reminds me of the ones I used to fish in Northern Vermont when I was a kid, great times great memories.
I’ve not fished Vermont but I’m hoping to make it up there this year!! Thanks for watching
That second creek was so cool and your joy at the fish in it glorious to see.
I couldn't help it! I didn't expect to do well at the second location
Beautiful fish catch and release watching from 🏴 in the 🇬🇧
Heck yeah thanks for watching!

It’s a crazy area!! Thanks for watching
Wow! I once found a 4 inch wild Brookie in a 1.5 foot wide creek at the Lake George campsite. Good Brook Trout fishing up in English Brook.
Heck yeah! That's awesome! Thanks for watching
Should look into a Tenkara rod for these tight quarters. This looks amazing.
I’ve used Tenkara before, it’s tough in these creeks. There’s too much overhead cover, and Tenkara rods are too long. It severely limits where you can cast

wow, this video sure has taken off, great to see! love the channel man, one of the few where every video that comes out is a must watch! 🐟
Thank you so much!!
haven't been there in years ... good to see some fish there
The fish are still thriving! Thanks for watching
Got to love Trout Unlimited 👍 MadDog chapter in this neck of the woods 😀 Enjoyed
I'm not entirely sure who Maddog chapter is but TU does do some awesome work
@hardmanfishing my local TU chapter. Mad is for the Mad River, and Dog is for the Dog River. Central Vermont area

Beautiful brown trout it was worth the walk..
Agreed!
you find the best spots:)
“thanks friend” 🥰
Back again boyyyyy LETS GOOOO!
Yessirrrrrrrr
Bro setting hook sometimes like there’s a marlin on the end of that boy. Little fish is like godddd daaayyyyummmm 😂😂😂
Been fishing tiny creeks for weeks. It won’t stop raining!
I know! I love it and hate it at the same time
W Vid‼️ This made my day😆 Great way to start my weekend fr and keep it up ( Here before 100k)
All I can think about is how beautiful that creek must have been before the coal mine.
I don't think there are even pictures of it before the mine honestly

Hi John, personally I do not like fishing streams that close to a highway. But I enjoyed your video anyway.
Didn't you publish the second part earlier, btw?
@@briljantje9583 No sir! I fish a lot of small creeks that look kind of similar I guess, idk😂 Thanks for watching

That is a sweet Loki g stream. I have just one question, what flies do you use?
Looks like West Virginia or Pennsylvania somewhere
😎👍🎣👏
Those fish are paid actors
I knew it! 🤣
alas! you have switched to the nymph 🫡
What is the big camera you use not your GoPro?? Love the quality want to look into a new one for my films!
I just got my first fly rod due to watching your videos. What streamers would catch 16-20” browns that could be used on a 5wt with floating line?
When you go up that little brick wall spot, were you like flip casting?
As a avid fisherman it was nice to know that you were using a black wooly bugger... Would really like to know a precice location..city and state would help???
That’s a nice spring creek. Where is it located? I guessing north eastern US?
I've caught the biggest trout in my life in dinky creeks.
The creek where it flows through the rock walls would be a dry fly haven.
I agree! And it will be here in like a month. Just not a ton of good hatches in that area yet
What setup are you using? I have a backwater setup but looking for one to use in small creeks like this.
Don’t wanna give out your spot but in all the years I’ve fished that stream never in a million year did I think urban and that town be in the same sentence that place is in the middle of BFE love that stream tho catch some monster browns outta there
Looks like about a 3wt? Where are you located? First time seeing your vids.
Yep that’s a 3 wt! And I’m in WV
Put sheds over water running water like that where you can shit through the floor and it takes it away
I grew up on the greatest Athletic Salmon and Trout river in the world (Miramichi, NB), this is foreign to me.
What state do you catch these big browns in.
Do you guys have a landing net recommendation?
We use catch cam nets! But as long as it’s rubber coated it doesn’t matter too much I guess
Channelized because they had to squeeze the creek in between the highway and the double tracked rail line
Makes sense..
Seems safer outside the creek.
Probably is😂
Catching Tiddlers use a small net
I should’ve but I like to be optimistic that I’ll see a bigger fish 😂
You don't know if they're tiddlers until you hook them. Common sense really.
How is this an "Urban Creek?"
I've seen one shack and that's it.
Because of the wall and beside a road?
Dude. .
Please explain.
They channeled the creeks and then wondered why they flooded downstream.
Could i use mono fillament as the front Line
that is not a creek it is a fancy Canal .😀😀😀
I love me a fancy canal! I should change the title of the video 😂
Watch the poop pipes!!!!
I like to bath in the water that comes from the many white pipes throughout the state.
Can you please do a fly fishing set give away, I really want to fly fish but I do not have money.
I started fly fishing with a 70 dollar Amazon rod / reel that came with flyes and a case great set up you should try it
I dont have any money

It’s a catch cam net! You can get them online if you want, but they’re made in fairmont, WV
