Just picked up an 88 virago 750 for $400 has 64,908 miles on it tho, hadn't been started in 3 years. Cleaned the tank and carbs, put new grips, fresh oil and gas that was it. Fires right up and rides great. Missing the side plastics but I think I scored on it?
I put 98,000 trouble free miles on a XVS VStar 650, 2000 model, loved that bike, rode it everywhere, never had a problem, always loved these bikes, yamaha is hard to beat, all the best.
I know I'm years too late but I just had to comment about the choke being wide open the entire time on this video, my '96 would be having a sissy fit by that time.
My 94 xv750 runs cold, and wants the choke wide open for city riding. I've also only had it a month, and haven't checked the carbs. In 3rd or higher adjusting the choke doesn't cause any noticable lag. I'm guessing he ran with it wide open to keep it running for a goal of single shot ride.
Beautiful bike. My dad had three of them. The only problem he had was with the starter. I always thought it would have been awesome if it had a kickstarter.
Tripping me out with the misaligned audio

That thing looks incredibly comfy.
Lovely bike. If I was in the USA I think I'd definitely be tempted by that lovely bike. Sounds great too!
Just like my "entry level" 90's Yamaha drums . . Bulletproof and sound better than any "modern" "professional" drum set. .
"says needs nothing" needs the neft turn signal bulb at 7:03 , nice bike i have a 96 just like it I had just purchased with 19k miles
Good eye Caleb, I seen that too and laughed about it.

Did they ever make a sport version, with straighter handlebars, less front rake, and a shorter wheelbase?

Don't care for the new style vid
No offense, just love the old vids, old start music, the drive up the street then the talk about it in the showroom area. It was a perfect formula
