I think recently Manson is looking a lot younger and healthier due to his sobriety.His live performances have been amazing and hes kind of back to his Holywood era.His new album is superb also,im so glad that hes back after all the BS that was thrown at him over the last few years
Yup. Im guessing they saw his pictures pre 2019 - which was before the allegations. Manson has lost a lot of weight since and actually looks 20-25 years younger than he did just 5 years ago. I think you could say he's immortal based on that and the score needs to be revised.
Marilyn Manson has stated numerous times that he was/is very much influenced by Bauhaus, The Cure, Joy Division, The Birthday Party, Christian Death, Killing Joke, etc. Edit to add: Since the allegations, Manson has actually *lost* a lot of weight, has improved his vocals, and looks very similar to how he looked in 2004.
Citing a Goth artist as an influence and having something in common with the Goth genre musically are two totally different things. Manson music has no similarities to the Goth genre at all

Re Manson's influences, just going by his music from 2007 to his latest album it's clear he's not just metal or glam influenced - there's heavy doses of straight up post-punk in there too that definitely speak to his goth bonafides.

Does Andrew Eldritch identify as goth? Does Robert Smith identify as goth? There is no one definition of goth for everyone. Why create them by force? Moreover, you can draw from many trends, with one of them predominating, just like Marilyn Manson. That's why I prefer the term dark independent or simply dark music, which is broader and I don't have to wonder whether listening to Frontline Assembly and Dead When I Found Her makes me less gothic than when I listen to Passion Play or Aeon Sable...
Does Marilyn Manson goth? Yes. Is his music goth yes/no. Although he said himself he didn’t want to label himself “goth” because that would limit himself. He’s industrial along with Trent Reznor. Anti Christ Superstar is the most goth album in my opinion with the doomy tone. I think Holywood is pretty goth/punk too. It was pretty non conforming to not have eyebrows though.
Antichrist Superstar is more industrial than goth. I would argue Eat Me, Drink Me is his most overtly goth album. His last two records, We Are Chaos and One Assassination Under God (which just came out) also lean heavily into goth/post-punk.
