Got a 2011 almost 200k on it. Just regular maintenance runs like a champ and had plenty of power with that Honda 3.7, I will admit not much excitement however up Top in the Rpms when it cams over it makes a pleasant induction noise !
Jet black custom 2013 Acura MDX Advanced. Identical to the ones in Captain America! But even more epic! I named him ONYX 11 years, and half my life of dreaming, it is even better that I could ever imagine! Doing some epic modifications and custom work in the coming years! I’ve done a few awesome ones 6 months in. Completely restored the interior and exterior, including the rust! And put around 300 hours of hard work into the truck! I did the best that I could with my tools and a low college student budget. I don’t own many tools, because I have nowhere to store them. I had mechanically refurbished the engine, transmission, catalytic converter, power steering, and more to list. I baby the truck! I will insure will last it until I am 30. But life happens, and nothing is guaranteed. I learned that with my beloved old 2004 MDX Tech. (Maximus). A computer virus from a 2006 navigation system(Trojan horse) very very unfortunately killed all of the computing units! It killed Maximus. I cried privately for weeks! 7 years (age 14-21), 220,000 miles, many fun and sad experience later, road trips, and memories. That truck was my life! I loved Maximus more than any (romantic) relationship that I’ve been in through my youth. People can be shallow. Maximus was not only my vehicle, but my passion. Still sitting in my driveway for 6 months. R.I.P old flame. 🔥
I own the 2010 MDX for a few years now, bought it used but only has 97k miles on it. Love the size and power but only gets about 16mpg and needs timing belt and water pump service at 90k miles. Also recently encountered electrical problems with the rear hatch and rear fuse box that has water leaking into it.
I have a 2011 and it handles better than the a wrx, definitely a a4 quattro. Responds immediately and downshifts are on command with a 1.2 sec delay, I commute on big bear mountain california. She's over 10 years old and feels like the day it came out with 120019 and oil changes every 6 months or 5000 miles
The 07-09 MDX Sport features like Active Damper System (ADS) magnetic struts/shocks, larger front/rear sway bars, and ADS Comfort/Sport modes button were added to the 10-13 Adv models. The 10-13 Adv is a combination of the base, tech, Sport, +/- entertainment with additional Adv features like larger rim/wheel combo, auto leveling HIDs, 3 way heated ventilated front seats, BSI, CMBS, and ACC.
"not as exciting as German competition" is a stand sentence - there is no German competition at this size and price level. Like many testers and journalists, the author of the video did not do the research and went for a "regular" test. When Honda was making this vehicle they used Porsche Cayenne as the benchmark. The "secret" to the fun factor of this car is in the high revs - vtech and shawd. There's a lot of power and torque vectoring above 3500rpm making it a strong contender in the sports SUV segment like X5 and Cayenne... But at a much lower price
To help with oil consumption go up in weight I use mobile 1 extended performance high mileage synthetic 5w-30. This will help with the loss in the tolerances and restore seals. I also run this oil in all my cars including my 2009 corvette with 1579 miles on it. Fantastic flow properties and very balanced weight.
9:16 if only this dude knew when that vtech kicks in😂 ive been undefeated in this thing in racing 🏁

Know of any simple mods to help in that area?

Does it burn any oil? Known problem
@@area859 haven't noticed that being an issue but it is 12 years old now so I watch the oil level closely
The leaky rear fuse box area or wet under the front floor mats is caused by clogged sunroof drains.
Sweet, thanks Mike!

Handles great but definitely not better than my A4 Quattro lol
Sport package was dropped after 2009 and replaced with the Advance package in 2010, so they were never sold together.

I have a 2011 MDX, bought new 200k miles great SUV with very low maintenance. Oil started to burn around 170k miles. I doubt a 0-60 in 6.6secs.
You can try marvel mystery oil in the crank and see if it loosens those oil control piston rings

Anyone know which rims are on these? I would like to get these on my 2008 MDX.
They’re the 19” Advance package wheels. I have the tech but like these wheels better.
Prepare for transmission shudder
365,xxx miles and transmission not jerking
