This was my first Nightwish Live concert (Went to the virtual ones last year) They did not disappoint. I was literally front row. Was a night to remember!!!!!!!!

I paid extra too and was right there third row and who knows we might have seen each other! popped my Nightwish cherry as well. It was the best show I've ever seen because Nightwish is my favorite band! I feel like I am very fortunate that they came to the states and to Chicago. We had initially bought tickets to the New York show but then the pandemic came along and after 2 re bookings of our flights we had lost too much money and decided to go to Cancun. then we find out they're coming to Chicago and we live about an hour away. they were not initially coming to Chicago and that is one reason why I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to see them.

I wish they were more popular here in the US because I worry that for some reason there won't be another US tour. But I hope there will be.
@@corienb7947, I know. You're probably right, I just worry. You just never now with life. At 53, I've realized that so many things can happen to change the things you think will never change. Viruses, wars, band members leaving bands, unexpected deaths, etc
Don't worry there will be another tour. I have been seeing them live since early 2000s. First concert I saw them in there was maybe 300-400 people there and the next 3 concerts it has slowly gotten bigger but never exceeding 800 people. They have always been coming back regardless of crowd size, they love playing for their fans and don't mind at all playing at smaller clubs. This show was by far the biggest crowd size my brother and I have ever seen for an American Nightwish concert, and probably the best show I have seen of them. I believe the next tour will be more like this one limited shows but larger venues.
That would be nice. This was a good concert here in Chicago, but man... to see a bigger show, with maybe some pyrotechnics and the big LED screen that they have behind them in bigger concerts would be cool.
I just saw them in Denver and have to be honest....I preferred the last two times I saw them in small venues. They were amazing every time I've seen them but the audience had changed. Everyone was too busy recording it. Kind of bummed me out.
I have to give you a thumbs I mean with all the shit on the internet thank you ! You have done a great job guys what a band and thank you for your effort for bringing this to me .. you guys rock !,,
En mi humilde opinion no creo q ninguna de las otras cantantes se hubiesen tragado el hecho de cubrir las voces del desertor de marco como lo si lo ha hecho FLOOR, por eso es q ella es lo q es simplemente la mejor vocalista del universo.
The mix was slightly off (higher pitches were swallowed a bit). But this show kicked ass, as Floor would say 😃 First time seeing them llive, & it was even more amazing than i could have immgined!
Lowell was similar. Beast in Black had ZERO treble, but Nightwish was WAY better. Could have been the venue. It must be darn tricky mixing six players plus the pre recorded parts.

I knew she would sing different from 10 years ago. But her voice is softer now. Better for tracks like shoemaker. The mix was a bit off. That's to do with the mixing guy there.
When they played small venues, the audiences rocked out (I got to see them twice before this tour). I'm glad so many people have discovered them through reactions but it's changed the audience dynamic. Everyone wants to record on their phones now and just stand there. They still sound amazing but after just seeing them in Denver again.... really bummed me out.
@@tink5188 That's true, a lot of phones. There were a couple of people really having a good time though, I imagine the crowd's more energetic in europe and other places
That day it was literally 95 degrees outside and the majority of us were out there for hours before the doors opened. Was our 2nd day in a row of 90 + degree weather we were not used to it. The venue holds 3k people for the small crowd we were as loud as we could be. Even Floor commented on how hot it was. Every one near me was dancing and singing along and jumping and clapping the entire time. Not sure what else we could have done to be less zombified.
whats with american venues having no pyro? Ya know, i think they could pull off one major venue there given their cultish popularity, give the yanks the full nightwish experience
Sorry to be the party pooper, but what a depressing way to attend a concert nowadays: having to stare beyond dozens lit up mobile phone screens before you can actually watch the band playing. I guess the understanding of the opening song "Noise" hasn't arrived yet in Chicago.
Yeah, this was my first time ever seeing them live, at this concert. A lot of people did have the phones out too much. I took about 10 quick pictures over the course of the 2 hour show, but that was it. I wanted to take in the experience live, and not stare at my phone the whole time. But some people I noticed, are really good at recording but still looking directly at the performance rather than through the phone. I'm not that skilled though lol

I like recording shows but only if I can get my phone low enough where it’s not in my view or anyone else’s but still get a good shot of the stage. I was lucky enough at this show to get some good quality videos.

When Troy Donockley of Nightwish, asked if anyone knows what "nobody" means in Latin, I shouted out, "NEMO!" and like everyone around me looked at me like "What?", lol
