....This recipe is called "Pressgurka" and is the most common to use with fresh cucumbers...you just slice 1 cucumber very thinly into a bowl... whisk together: 2 tablespoon vinegar essence(12%)/2 tablespoon sugar/1dl cold water/0,5 spice measure ground white pepper/0,5dl finely chopped parsley/1 spice measure salt...whisk till the sugar and salt is dissolved and pour it over the cucumber...put a small plate on top and some weight to hold the cucumber down...hence "PRESScucumber"...let stay in refrigerator for say 30 minutes.....and make it double 😜... Smaklig måltid!.....and don't forget the lingonberry jam to the meatballs
Im going to have to try these this weekend!
I love the all-spice berries to accompany Swedish Meatballs. You can switch it up with dill and black pepper in the summer when you need to harvest your summer cucumbers!
Nice video how can we connect you regarding some questions and information madam
You mean pickles
Traditional pickle making includes canning, which uses high temperatures to sterilize and create an airtight seal that further preserves the contents from spoilage. Quick pickling uses the same basic ingredients as traditional pickling but you skip the canning process and store them in your refrigerator. That is why I do not call these pickles. Hope that makes sense!
@@ourtable4212 That doesn't make sense. People have been pickling cucumbers for over 4,000 years. Traditional pickling doesn't involve canning, since canning wasn't a thing until the 18th century.
@@ReapingTheHarvest you are so right, there are two techniques for pickling- quick and slow. The technique I am using in the video is quick pickling. So the true debate is what do we call cucumbers using the quick pickling method? What’s your vote - Refrigerator pickles, quick picked cucumbers or pickles…I would love to know which side of the debate you land on. Let’s keep talking food!
