I only have 17 hours to explore Berlin. Anthony Bourdain: The Layover was always a show that fascinated me. Ever since watching it for the first time I've always wanted to try the concept. This travel vlog was especially challenging because of the time constraints. We arrived in Berlin at 8:30 and hit the town for nightlife then explored the famous sights during the day on 5 hours of sleep.
Anthony Bourdain had people to help make his experience easier, more exciting and educational, I did not. I took in the nightlife in Kreuzberg, checked out the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, The Berlin Wall and The Berlin Tower.
Doners were plentiful and the vibes were wild in this capital city. I think I got the most I could out of this city in 17 hours. Berlin is accessible and cheap enough to make a layover like this possible.
Overall should you attempt something crazy like this? Probably not, this was the hardest travel vlog I've filmed yet. However, it probably won't be the last, look forward to more Anthony Bourdain style layovers in the future!

4 hours is not nearly enough time. This year will be our 12th visit to Berlin. We'll be there for 17 nights. Next time try Lake Tegel & Wannsee and visit Spandau & Sansoucci Park or the shopping on Friedrichstraße & try a bar on Schiffbauerdamm. If I didn't know Berlin, your review would put me off going. Try a week's review and give it a fairer opinion. PS. Everyone speaks English, no need to learn German.

Unfortunately, a week just wasn’t possible for us, we had to stay a night before heading onto Leipzig. I wasn’t trying to review the city or really see it all but just see if it was possible to see the main attractions and have a good night. I appreciate the suggestion for next time though!

Every underground station in the whole city looks different. You can tell your station without hearing or reading the name. 😉 They have also, historical, informational and artistical themes.
    It's the TV tower 🙂
Even though Döner is an Berlin original, so is the Currywurst (=Curry sausage), but last contains pork, so you won't get a real Currywurst at a place from Turkish people (muslims) ☝🏻.
Find a good place to eat in Berlin needs some "research" even for a original Berlin citizen like me 😅

I love the station thing, it makes it interesting unlike many other subway stations in the world.
Regardless of what the tower is called I probably still would’ve screwed it up 😂
I love currywurst now almost as much as doners!
Finding a good place to eat anywhere requires a lot these days but I try to ask the locals! 😃
