    Quick question! Buddy and I are about to use this process on the same vehicle to hook up a good kicker sub and kicker amp.... does hooking the sub up through the rear speaker effect the output power/sound/clarity or anything at all? Just want to make sure it can handle the power just like if we were to tap in behind stereo.

      @Gonin60  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Stephen! I don’t know for sure man. I don’t want to steer you wrong. My hunch or guess would be no. They don’t require RCAs. Plugging into the rear speakers is merely to power the sub on. If you run it to the deck it’s for a remote turn on from the head unit.

    • @Gonin60
      @Gonin60  3 роки тому

      A powered sub means it has an amplifier built into the sub box. The sub has everything you need built into it. Your main question will be is how do you get power to the sub. Not talking about your ground or battery wire. You can tap into the rear speakers or run a remote wire to the head unit. It needs a signal to turn it on. I would try and do some research on all of it before jumping in. If this is your first time it can be a little challenging. Headed to bed now but happy to chat more tomorrow.

    Great video thanks a lot for posting. I'm going to be doing this in my 21 Scat Pack. I have the basic Alpine system, not the upgraded one as you do. Do you know the differences in the 2 systems? I'm assuming all of my speakers are the same as the upgraded Alpine system except that I do not have a sub woofer and an amp.
    I see on your high level in on the back of the box you have a left and a right. That would lead me to believe that you need to tap into both the left and right speakers. You only tapped into one correct? Why did you choose to do it that way? Does it make any difference if you only tap into one speaker?
    Also how did you determine which speaker wires in the car were positive and which was negative? Thanks again!

    • @Sushii258
      @Sushii258 2 роки тому

      bit late but the positive and negative are the only difference that is why he tapped into only 1 side of speaker, and each vehicle will have it different but the positive vs negative should have different colored stripes.
