Below is a link to a great UA-cam channel that has a lot of terrific, rare footage of Fred Couples in action. If you're a fan of Freddie, you should visit it. ua-cam.com/channels/SciXeupUdQMLSk9pZ04GOA.html
well said. You should watch the round 1 or 2 etc of him on here at Augusta at like 55 or 60 years old-it's ridiculous. Like a quiet walk in the park for a smooth 74 or something like that, which is just insane factoring his age and the course set up and distance etc-and-he aint thrilled with the rounds.@@browningbelgium2326
I had the privilege to be inside the ropes as a volunteer marshal following Freddie for 18 holes for 4 days in Singapore’s Johnnie walker classic. It was unreal the magic he performed shaping his shots any direction at will. Truly an honor to be with him throughout
It really is. When you break his swing down it's mind boggling perfection. You can't practice to get like this. He's just built for that swing, if that makes sense.
Boom Boom has the most beautiful swing I've ever seen in my life. Smooth, syrupy and effortless. It doesn't look any different today on the Champions Tour either. I could sit on a chair at a driving range and watch Fred hit balls all day.
My golfing idol Mr Fred Couples the absolute best golf swing ive ever seen bar nobody. He was and is a great player and a super cool dude. You just never get tired of watching fred hit balls, super talented.
He and Louis Oosthuizen have the best swings in golf in our view. Elegant, rhythmic and powerful. Efficient. I remember watching Fred live at the Masters in 1984 with the old persimmon heads and when he hit the ball it looked like it came out of a cannon and the sound of the ball being smashed within an inch of it's life was truly remarkable.
Saw him hit a persimmon driver 300+ into the wind at an old tour stop in Abilene TX about 1984. The swing looked like he was just warming up. Everything looks almost slo-mo until right before impact. Pure butter.
I really like the arms first, then shoulders and hips in the backswing, and that he completes the backswing before starting down. Followed him for a round at the Mitsubishi some years ago. What a talent!
with everyone so mechanical today -- they all look like they come out of a factory.....Its great to see a natural talent who's swing seems to relate to all of us who aspire to swing smooth and hit it long ...cheers Freddie !
brett fruin Exactly! Lee Trevino always said "never take advice from someone you can't beat" these swing coaches that make perfect swings sometimes do more harm than good, and makes the game less fun
Now everyone swings it the same. Look back even ten years, Vijay, Tiger, Phil, Freddie, Retief...all had different swings, nowadays so many are so similar
brett fruin swings today are not about longevity, they're about aggressive attack angles and violent body movements to maximize distance heralded in by Tiger Woods, and that's what PGA PROs teach. Freddie has all the distance required yet he hasn't had to change a thing about his swing, it'd be a much more popular game if his swing was taught.
Something about his follow through .. from the time he makes impact … is just so deeply pleasing to my heart!! I don’t know what it is … but damn!!! Soooooo good!!!
I got to play Colonial at Memphis and hit from the same tee I saw Freddie swing from for the first time in person. I actually hit the same little cut he did and the ball traveled in the same path. That was fun to do.
He releases the hands so hard through the hitting area. His right hand just about comes off the club. When you fully release the hands you get effortless speed especially when you can crank that right shoulder that far back. My favorite swing of all.
Greatest living legend, all flexibility, quietly accelerating, full rotation back, full rotation through impact, natural extension, all of this makes the best swing ever. Simple.
Followed you at the Shell Houston Open back in 95 thru 98 TPC the Woodlands you never disappointed much and electrified the gallery.I watched the leader board saw you go up then down so I live and died with your game I guess but getting your autograph and being there was a great experience. Thanks for coming to Texas and playing at the University of Houston also think I played the home course of the Cougars in Pearland TX Southwyke ? I was told that by the desk pro and for two days in a row back in 1998 I played the holes you did back in your college days ? Hope to make the Houston Open next March and see you play again ! I wear Ashworth polo's and model my dress after you and what's in the bag but the swing I gotta work on ! lol
Hard not to when Boom-boom has always been my all time favorite. The effortless power, the liquid, metal fluidity, and metronomic tempo is uniquely special and unrivaled in so many aspects. The phrase “poetry in motion” was created in lieu of his original swing and will never be replicated. A swing representative of one of the coolest, classiest human beings to ever grace the emerald, green fairways that mankind has had the privilege to witness, PERIOD!
Can you imagine how far Freddie woulda boomed his driver had he used Hi Tech Ti in the mid 1980s when he was hitting his 1955 Mac M85W persimmon 295 yards... his swing is one of a kinda and he had serious power which was effortless.
Man, back in the day when it was High-Crown Visor with the Cadillac logo on the Ashworth Freddie, he was a feared man wielding his Parallax irons and playing the HT-100 Balata. ……How come when we were living in the “good ol’ days; no one told us we were living the good ol’ days??
Its such an interesting swing imo. Looks like no matter the club he just kinda dips the clubhead down and the ball just pops up, with a divot the size of a fist regardless of the number iron he has. :P Looks so easy and smooth too.
Got lessons from him a long time ago in Seattle. You think his golf is good? Try just talking to him, what a great human being, a delight to just be around.
Fred has the most fluid swing even today. It is a thing of beauty....watch how quiet his lower body is until the point of impact...then he rotates through.
Joseph Gibbons if by quiet you mean balanced, that’s true. But his hip turn is pretty drastic, he just looks so relaxed overall because his upper body is so loose. Watch his leg pushing into the ground just before he hits the ball. That move is built up through the violent hip turn just before that. Raw power disguised by relaxed arms and shoulders. That’s where the whip is coming from.
Finest example of Gravity Golf out there... tosses up the arms and then lets them drop as the pivot does all the work. His weight moves away from the target line to offset the arms throwing his body toward the ball....
Effortless power. Almost never see Fred hit a fairway wood...I guess when you hit a 5 iron 220 yards you don't really need one. Amazing tempo and control, beautiful to watch.
Hey I'm sorry to bother but I've been asking around, and no one seems to have video of the 2014 Open final round, any chance you could do a video? I'd love to see it again, it was awesome. Thanks man and love all your vids!
Hi, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I don't have the final rd of 2014 British. Perhaps someone else's channel may have it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
mark r pa usa my favorite player of all times 4 whatever reason, I don't know just my thoughts, whatever is left of them my very best thx so much 4 this
it seems his swing is mostly hands, arms and club. i mean he does turn but it doesn't seem to be the driving force like they promote today, more classic and poetry in motion type swing.
Below is a link to a great UA-cam channel that has a lot of terrific, rare footage of Fred Couples in action. If you're a fan of Freddie, you should visit it.

Poetry in motion. Greatest swing of our time. Absolutely incredible.
He has perfect timing
It's the Picasso of golf swings.

Freddie owns the most enviable swing ever which to my knowledge has never been duplicated. Wonderful music to appreciate such grace.
And the flow of it is virtuously exact every time.
Simply impeccable swing. So easy, insane tempo, excellent follow through, all around just perfection in my eyes.
It really is. When you break his swing down it's mind boggling perfection. You can't practice to get like this. He's just built for that swing, if that makes sense.

I would pay to sit on a chair and watch him on the range.
Poetry in motion
There will never be a more beautiful golf swing.
I can watch Freddie swing all day.
Great video. Two swings that explain the meaning of poetry. Hogan's and Freddie's. Beautiful!
My favorite golf swing!!! This is by far the best!!!!!!
Truly one of the most beautiful swings in the history of golf, I could watch this for hours.
Hello Golf day producer,
Thanks for Fred Couples compilations 1and 2.
Such a great collection of amazing swings.
I can't find the compilation 1, cry.
My golfing idol Mr Fred Couples the absolute best golf swing ive ever seen bar nobody. He was and is a great player and a super cool dude. You just never get tired of watching fred hit balls, super talented.

Soul-soothing... I actually calms me down.. FC's swing in combination with this music =👌
That swing is pure poetry. Love this guy.
I really like the arms first, then shoulders and hips in the backswing, and that he completes the backswing before starting down. Followed him for a round at the Mitsubishi some years ago. What a talent!
Best golf swing EVER !
with everyone so mechanical today -- they all look like they come out of a factory.....Its great to see a natural talent who's swing seems to relate to all of us who aspire to swing smooth and hit it long ...cheers Freddie !
brett fruin absolutely. Right on. I watch this daily... it soothes the mind haha

it's part of my pre-competition ritual, now.
One the best golf swings in the history of golf!
Something about his follow through .. from the time he makes impact … is just so deeply pleasing to my heart!! I don’t know what it is … but damn!!! Soooooo good!!!
one of the greatest swings ever a pleasure to watch. Nice one Freddy.
Ian Wallis my favorite golfer is tiger woods, but Fred Couples has the best swing I have ever seen.
Swings the weight of the clubhead beautifully. An artist. 👌🏼
I got to play Colonial at Memphis and hit from the same tee I saw Freddie swing from for the first time in person.
I actually hit the same little cut he did and the ball traveled in the same path. That was fun to do.
Freddie’s practice swing is his actual swing! haha amazing
that looks so true.
The best swing in golf period! His swing is smooth and consistent. Thus, miking it very powerful! Freddie reminds us of the Slammer AKA Sam Snead!
@SuperTrader Mikey Interesting Observation and dead on!
What makes Fred’s swing a joy to watch is his tempo, timing and rhythm. That’s what should be emulated, not particular club positions.
Completely agree, his swing just looks so effortless because of the perfect tempo
emulating Fred Couples club positions is a very bad idea, for any human being.
And God said to Freddie, you shalt have the smoothest golf swing
LOL
5:04... soothing music. My father and I love Fred Couples swing. So does everybody else.
He releases the hands so hard through the hitting area. His right hand just about comes off the club. When you fully release the hands you get effortless speed especially when you can crank that right shoulder that far back. My favorite swing of all.
I love these videos. Such a great swing. You should make one of John Daly also, another smooth swinger!
Yeah when he was thinner... Or Payne Stewart.
Greatest living legend, all flexibility, quietly accelerating, full rotation back, full rotation through impact, natural extension, all of this makes the best swing ever. Simple.
These videos are awesome. Thanks for making it, and I hope they continue.

Fred gave lessons to ice cubes to be cool.
Reginald Cortez best Fred couples comment I’ve ever heard.
Freds swing was so cool it melted ice on a cold winter's day
I like Fred's manarizims ever since I was little IV tryed to copy his swing
Pure power rather than smoothness is what i got seeing couples swimg up close, unreal shoulder turn and hip clearance.
Who else teared up with joy while watching this video?

Effortless, Beautiful swing, one of my all time fave players, did I mention his swing? Ha

Straight whip
This is great! Thanks for compiling it.
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.
I got my girlfriend who doesn't play golf, to watch this video and said "that game looks easy". She took 5 lessons and said screw this..
That’s 119 pieces of art. Thanks
The most beautiful swing ever…👍😍
Man, back in the day when it was High-Crown Visor with the Cadillac logo on the Ashworth Freddie, he was a feared man wielding his Parallax irons and playing the HT-100 Balata.
……How come when we were living in the “good ol’ days; no one told us we were living the good ol’ days??
Couple's swing is epic.
The most noticeable things in his swings are his footwork, knee work, massive lateral shift and hipturn and that's amazing.
I use this footage as my inspiration prior to me hacking around my course. Every shot (in my head) is 'Fred Couples, 4 iron to the green...'
That’s some love-making tempo right there 😁
Best clubhead speed I have ever seen
Sweetest swing in golf.
Its such an interesting swing imo. Looks like no matter the club he just kinda dips the clubhead down and the ball just pops up, with a divot the size of a fist regardless of the number iron he has. :P Looks so easy and smooth too.
My goal was single handicap. After watching this, I just want his swing no matter what I score.
Ditto
It’s unreal how fast a young Couples could rotate and release through the hitting zone!! Looks easy but the club head is flying around him.
This swing is a thing of beauty
fred couples, the only player on our planet who would never want his golfround to end
Nice swing. Nice music.
Got lessons from him a long time ago in Seattle. You think his golf is good? Try just talking to him, what a great human being, a delight to just be around.
Fred has the most fluid swing even today. It is a thing of beauty....watch how quiet his lower body is until the point of impact...then he rotates through.
Joseph Gibbons right... so effortless
+Joesph Gibbons - how quiet his lower body is...!!?! He has one of the biggest lateral shifts in golf! What are you talking about? lol
Raw power disguised by relaxed arms and shoulders. most beautiful swing ever
I also wanted to see the 1998 Masters 2nd roundo 13th hole 2nd shot. He remembers saying "Oh baby" after the shot.
Thank you for uploading. Music is perfect haha
The swing matches his personality. Smooth and easy.
You got to love swing #8 and swing #637, just two of his best. 😉
A great swing that no one can copy.
Crazy that a swing that beautiful only won one major (and lucky at that....remember #12 on the final day at the Masters?)
I like seve he's smooth ,Ernie ,vj aswell ,but Freddie is aswome the best
the best swing in golf ever
Wow. What a swing
Amazing how hard golf is when you have a swing like that but so many of those shots were from out of rough and behind trees.
Fred’s tempo makes it all better
There is the Mona Lisa, the pyramids of Giza, the Eiffel Tower, the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and there is Fred Couples' Golf Swing.
Ahh....therapeutic. All hail the King of Swing
He has the best swing ever and it will always be the best... no one take it from him. What a achievement that is Freddy
You won't ever see a swing as elegant as Freddy's.. and a short game to match it
agreed-just wild what he would have when with better putting and a better back
0:39 What a great shot.....
That swing combined with those epic tunes = fuck tonne of shivers!
What happened to the first video?
What happened to #1?
This makes me super emotional. Just a god swing.
His golf pose should represent the PGA logo
Effortless power. Almost never see Fred hit a fairway wood...I guess when you hit a 5 iron 220 yards you don't really need one. Amazing tempo and control, beautiful to watch.
GLORIOUS!
A Glorious Golfer Glorious!
This is was,and wil always be 7:37 outstanding always wil be Fred couple's
Great guy, great golfer, I would have loved to play a round of golf with him
Effortless Power 👍👍
Yip ladies have the most grateful swings too.
soo smoooth. nice music too.

GolfDay No problem, it seems to be hard to find unlike any other Open ever! Lol, but thanks for all the good videos you do and keep making them
mark r pa usa my favorite player of all times 4 whatever reason, I don't know just my thoughts, whatever is left of them my very best thx so much 4 this
Greatest Simplist Golf Swing...BamBam
it seems his swing is mostly hands, arms and club. i mean he does turn but it doesn't seem to be the driving force like they promote today, more classic and poetry in motion type swing.
has he ever written a book or lessons i can see?
Fred couples "Total Shotmaking"
yes, i picked it up at used book store. if you like golf books it's a nice one to have, plenty of pictures and his thoughts on his swing action.
It’s between He and Ernie for me
thank you
The Xanax Swing. 😎
Griffey has the sweetest swing is baseball, Freddy has the sweetest swing in golf
The best
How many USGA tournaments have you won? Or even played in ......
he’s self taught
always great to watch fred golf, music a bit much, too dramatic. volume down.
