Thanks for the plug and kind words! I just wanted to add a few things that you mentioned: - The 3D coin flip was created via bringing an illustrator vector in to Swift 3D, extruding the object, and then rendering it back out as a vector sequence to bring back in to Flash. I did intend on doing all of the character work in 3D early on, but I gave up on this idea pretty quickly. The characters were modelled in Maya, and rendered as vector art. - The sneak cycle contains a lot of shape morphing as well, which is really economical to use on flat, single toned shapes. - You're right that the special effects were created within Flash. The particle effects weren't scripted, but were a duplicate of one or two initial 'seed' symbols. After I create a small flourish with a few duplicates, I'd convert the new timeline to a symbol and continue duplicating this new symbol. I'd change the rotation, scale, opacity/tint and start frame to add randomness. The glow surrounding the 'white shape' effects you were talking about are made of three layered glows, that start from warm in the centre to cooler on the edges (ie: yellow - orange - dark red). Using an add or overlay blend mode on a symbol like this enhances the effect. I really enjoyed the video! It's cool seeing people still talking about all this time later!

May you do more tutorials on stop motion, because I have only been doing it for about three weeks now and on a scale of one to ten I'm at a three witch means I suck, but I use stop motion studio so it's easy for me right now. I don't think I'll be getting any other softwares even if they are free, because a. My parents have never gotten a stop motion software for me, and b. I don't now how to download it. So... :/.

Language in itself is a weird concept when you think about it -- we make sounds and use symbols in order to convey a specific idea, so what stops anyone from making up new words? ... Whoops, my pseudo-intelectual is showing. My bad.
Well, the interesting thing is that some species of ape have entered the stone age, but they only have simple speech, we may see their speech grow, and see how different species in different parts of the world make language differently *adjusts monocle and sips tea* Where was I? Ah, yes... This may tell us more about how we developed our own language, and taught our offspring how to speak it... ...I blacked out there for a second, what happened? Why do I have a monocle? Where did this tea come from?
I don't know why but the coin looks pre rendered to me. In that, it looks like he used another program, flipped the coin and then made a sprite out of the animation and edited the sprite to the animation's needs. Kinda like what Dankey Kang Kantry does but with technology YEARS later.
