I’m surprised both KeiJi and Mark were both of Japanese descent despite living in Singapore so they are fit to play the Japanese soldiers.
Kinoshita Mark can still spoke Japanese unlike Umehara Keiji who can't
@@1209haruka I think their fathers are Japanese.
@@jackjackyphantom8854 ik just that Umehara Keiji can't spoke Japanese at all
@@1209haruka Because he grew up in Singapore.

Hate to be the "Acktually..." guy but here goes:
1. The causeway was demolished by commonwealth forces on 31 Jan 1942, as the last commonwealth forces withdrew from Johor to Singapore. Japanese bicycles did not simply cycle across to the bewilderment of British troops.
2. Japanese bicycle battalions were instrumental for traversing the jungle in their lightning campaign down Malaya, with the added bonus of using little fuel, which the Japanese were short of. Bicycles were hardly used in Singapore as Singapore is **checks notes** very small.
3. The commander of commonwealth forces, General Percival, incorrectly predicted the Japanese would invade from Changi side, and sent his best troops there. The Japanese would instead attack from Sarimbun/Lim Chu Kang side with their best troops, and where the commonwealth troops were stretched thin. The Japanese prepared their landing boats in the estuaries of Johor and sailed across in the cover of darkness. The commonwealth forces fought hard, but were outnumbered, outgunned and outmatched by the Japanese. By daybreak, the Japanese had committed the rest of their troops across, and the rest is history.
Added fun fact: Its a popular misconception that the HMS Prince of Wales sank the German flagship Bismarck. Both clashed in May 1941 and damaged each other to the point that BOTH had to go home to repair (Not sunk). The Bismarck would actually be sunk by warplanes from the British aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. The HMS Prince of Wales would suffer the same fate, being sunk by Japanese warplanes based in Saigon, Indochina. This underscored how the Age of the Battleship had passed, and the Age of the Aircraft Carrier would be ascendant.
you missed the joke im crying
I hope you got the joke tho but fr thanks for the history lesson
Lmao akullaly
As a Singaporean, learning about how we had so much coastal defence, 2 whole powerful navy ships-The HMS Prince of Wales (4 cannons and went head to head against the Bismarck the Pride of the Nazi Kriegsmarina) and the HMS Repulse and 80 thousand Armed British troops and more from local troops to defend our shores
*AND THEN SUDDENLY*
Learning that the Japanese invaded us through the HEAVILY undefended Causeway bridge on bikes was by far the biggest insult to my face. I get that they made us think they were invading from the Changi Region but bruh, on Bicycles. And you'd think we had some barriers or thin lines of defenses but nOoOoOo British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was livid that Singapore, an "impenetrable fortress" island, a crown colony and symbol of British dominance in South East Asia fell to the Japanese despite all the reinforcements. It would not be till Japan's defeat by the American did the Japanese troops finally withdrew piecemeal.
Btw I love how they sang the Attack on Titans Theme song at the end. Loved the production and idea. It looks like it's getting better and more entertaining.
ngl when learning they invaded by bicycles i just thought “imagine your a normal citizen walking down the streets minding your business then you see an army coming to your country all on bicycle carrying guns” i need help

Jet planes didn’t exist in 1941. The first operational jets in World War II were all in Western Europe, namely the British Gloster Meteor and German Me262, and that was only from 1944 onwards
Really roasted Japan saying banana notes in the future

Up till this day, the Japanese have not paid the Malaysians for the theft of their bicycles. Many thousands of civilians were killed by the Japanese Army though.
The British had no defence against the mighty bicycle.
