- In this video, we get out into the city for once to try my hand at shooting some "street photography" with both the Sony 24-105 f4 and the 16-35 f4. Spoiler: I'm not very good at shooting street lol. But it was a fun experience and a cool way for me to try something different. If you've never just walked around to shoot photos in the city somewhere, I'd highly recommend it.

I get it. Using a model isn't "street photography". I know this. But it's an easier title than "shooting a model in downtown Phoenix with some street photography thrown in here and there". Relax. It's just a video.
someone has so big problem with it ?... omg people doesn't problems :D . Ok It is lifestyle street portrait :) everyone happy now :D ?
Haha the internet is an intense place
great video! Wondering if you could answer a question about this lens. I am debating on getting either this lens or a 50 f1.8 mm lens for my sony a72 for the purpose of more detail shots for both automotive and real-estate, my question is do you think the capability of being able to stop down lower is worth it or the flexibility of the zoom more beneficial for an all round. Thanks in advance
Donot speak with them any more,Keep happines to shooting
It’s a clickbaiting title, we get it. Relax.
Dude you nailed it 🤘🏼. Leaving your comfort zone is the best way to progress. Props to victoria on the banger footage as well! Keep killing it homies 🤙🏼
the coffee shop pictures were my favorite....great job!
Some of my favorites too!
Bro you should do street photography more often I like this
Yoo thanks dude. I would like to try it more for sure. I think going out WITHOUT a model would be more interesting for me. Tough to balance both at the same time.
Victoria killed it on the video !
She's getting the hang of it!
Loved it, props to Vic for nailing the video, liked the chill style to the vid as well, as a landscape shooter moving to trying out street and portraits as well it's nice to see a variation in shooting subject in this vid
Branching out is a great way to get out of a rut. Nice concept for a video, also props to Victoria!
I had a good time shooting this one! It was something different and really challenged me to try to frame video footage in a unique way. Not to mention, getting to hang with my sister was pretty cool too! Good job on this one my love:)
Victoria Alonge great job in getting all this footage👍
Thank youuuu☺️
Excited for your next one :-)
So you didnt dye your hair? I wasn't sure at first, lol
Great work Cody and Victoria. Stepping out of the comfort zone is always a great way to expand your skill set(s). Of course it doesn't seem fair too have 2 beautiful models to work with in the family. Merry Christmas to you guys and here's to 2020.
Great content Cody (& Victoria). I especially liked the coffee shop shots! Very creative and they turned out great
First off, this video was great. I loved the shots she took, it made it look like you and your awesome model had a fun experience. Secondly, I think the images were actually fantastic. I know you said it isn't your normal thing, but you def should be doing this more! Nice contrast and a good stretch to your creative skills. Great job as always Cody!
🙏🙏🙏
Jeez they look a lot alike! Nice to have a model for street photography for sure. Next step: Take pictures of strangers in public, then you'll be uncomfortable for sure!
Tried a few here and there. Watch the full video 😉
@@codyandvictoria well I did of course. I meant like closer kinda like North Borders has done. I feel it would get real awkward, real fast.
@@beezermedia oh yeah for sure. Idk how people do it
The coffee shop pics were awesome...beautiful model...
Definitely captured the "chill video" vibes! Keep doing your thing man :)
Wow, I loved this video! It was really awesome to see a photography video in full on 21:9 resolution. Definitely give Victoria props because she was killing it with these shots.
Hey thanks!! It was a lot of pressure for sure😅 lol
-V
Victoria the MVP 🙌🏼 Killer Video as per usual! It’s refreshing to see the people you look up to also get in creative ruts and the way they go about getting out of it
We all have our ways 😂
I liked the vibe, kinda Evan Ranft and Manny Ortiz style, the close-up photos were great, I liked the rusted building shots, the whole video kept my interest (nice job on the cam V). If you don't go out of your comfort zone you don't grow. Back to the snow is right Cali got a nice dump over the last week have fun.
Dam, I think the Victoria did an awesome job with the variety of shots.
Love the Chill Vibes!!! I really enjoyed your compositions!! Congrats exercising outside your comfort zone!!!
dude that track, had me freestyling the whole time! visuals helped alot
Ayy. Love this track. Red Licorice on MusicBed
Wicked set of shots mate, all look suuuupppeerr sharp and the more and more I get into film making I find myself shooting at that f4 range anyway. Love being able to see the scenes in this, not just a bokeh fest but actually being able to see most of the scene front to back is awesome!
Love it man
BRO INLOVE THIS!!! not knowing what your doing is the feeling we love as CREATIVES!! I would plan to do one of these ones a month bro!!!
🙏🙏🙏 I'll try it out. Hoping to get better
Cody Blue absolutely!!! I did one here in CHARLOTTE NC but I didn’t have a model it was just street shots I want to try it with a model
Your fiancé did a great job! Yes, to more snowboard videos. 👏
Cody goes into the city, immediately the hat is gone 😂 Sometimes change is good, the pictures are great! 🙌🏻
😂 no hat lyfeee
It was so late. I didn‘t want to watch it, but was glad I did. Thanks for the inspiring video, Cody.
Greetings from Germany.
One question: did you use a filter for the through-the-window shots?
Love the color grading on this video! Nice job Cody.
Thanks dude!!
Suuuuper Chill stuff!!!
wow you change stylish of shooting. I wish you do more street photography. I love it
Great video and some of those shots were very unique. Great job
Very Nice! Shout out to Phoenix, my hometown.
Heey finally! You uploaded a video. I missed your vids. Actually I am getting into street photography too and you should really do more of this.
Yeah I watched your Life in Butuan video cinematic vibes chill music great composition keep it up. I would like to see you grow in a year and see how far you go with it :)
VisuallyBen hey thanks for watching my video. I’ll be uploading more this year.
Kudos for shooting Matt's Big Breakfast... miss that place so much.
Enjoyed the different video, some great photos from that shoot. Keep mixing it up !
City life. This is a nice change showing diversity Cody/Victoria. And wow, sis works out too! Where can I get this camera bag at 3:17 ??
OMG that’s my city!!!!! I’m freaking out over here!!!! Such an amazing video!! I’ve been wanting to give street photography a try for so long and just being able to see a video done of my hometown actually gives me the inspiration and motivation to go out and explore downtown Phoenix. Thank you so much for this!! 😭🌵☀️
😂 Get it!!! Phoenix is a cool city. Lots of trendy vibes
I thought it was awesome. You should do street photography more often. Like a lot more often. Victoria killed it behind the camera and her sister is a natural. Looking forward to more street photography.
Another great video Cody, thank you !
Love It
How to shoot ski video while snowboarding would be an awesome video! I try doing it but struggle riding switch so I’m limited to one side of a run 🤦🏻♂️
Dude it's a challenge for sure. I find myself shooting behind my back a lot of times. I'll have to do a video about it
Cody Blue yep, just blind shots. Heading out to Big Sky and Jackson Hole this weekend so we’ll see how it goes 🤙🏽 keep up the awesome work man, you kill it
Loved this one dude! So fun to see you just out an about creating. It doesn't always need to be a crazy production to make something rad. I'm here for it!
Always appreciated my dude!!
Awesome video and photo
It would have been cool to see some shots on the lightrail. You did a phenomenal job!!
Thanks Brandi!
More of this kind of content bro! You nailed it! Every photo is so damn beautiful! 🙌🏻😊!
I loved it! Great shots! I love the 16-35 f4 lens!! Sooo sooo sharp! The quality that lens produces is incredible!
Woohoo! way to go Victoria. Nice video.
Nailed it! 💯💯💯
Hey Cody, would you recommend getting the Sony a6600 and utilizing this lens as a all in one? I'm just trying to get into photography and don't want to shed money on my first camera on a full frame. However I still want to get a good glass so I transfer it over if I ever get a full frame.
Victoria looks so nice in new hair style!!
Lol.......
COOL MODEL & NICE PIC
was the video footage done with the same lens too?
Sweet!!!
Evan Ranft is a another creator you should check out.
Evan is fire
My fav
Nice video! Do you have some raw photo samples taken with this lens that we can download?
sweet vid! side note, looking JACKED my man.
Ayyy 💪
Yoooooo this video is dope Cody!!! More of these my boii!!
Eventually. 😂
Sweet video! Like color tones out on the street! Make more snow edit! Have you try the a7ii camera? How do you like it?
Most of time photographers stick with what they do best, don't like to go out of their comfort zone. But You have tried and experimented Street Photography. It's a good thing!
amazing shot!
Alright, V. has a creative outlook. How did I miss this video? I'm so thinking of getting this lense, only thing holding me back is the 4f stop. I love night photography, boost ISO from now on?
Victoria amazing fotage
nice video
love the pics
What camera did victoria use to shoot the behind the scenes?
A6300 on the 18-105mm lens☺️
@@victoriablue815 wow even the brhind the scenes got some cinematic into it 😆
Hi first of I would like to say I walk your video and second I would like to ask you hopefully you’ll wouldn’t mind. My question to you is would a crop Sensor camera work with street photography? Thank you
I dig this type of video. This was great.
I know. Those guys I mentioned do it a lot better than I do
Why so high shutterspeed ? at 1:51
Great video Cody ! Not a street photographer myself but very well done !
Two questions I would love to get answer by you
1. Recently I got the sony a7iii with the kit lens, what lens would you recommend getting for it/ saving up for (just one/ or well two if they are on the cheaper side)
2. As a smaller youtube travel content creator I would love to hear from you, how I could grow my channel, how to get "out there" (this could be a good video idea!) :D
beautiful
Great video AND great photos! 👍
🙏🙏🙏
Hi CODY.
You are very good of street photography.
I would like to thanks you, because this video inspired me a lot.
Greetings from Poland :)
Hey Cody what lens do you have now ?
Loved the video! Awesome to see some familiar locations. Would love to run around and shoot with you sometime if your ever back in Phoenix! You’ve been a pretty big influence on me and my gear/photography thank you Cody!
Kudos V! Mountain man in the city! I’m trying to figure out how to shoot street photography where I am. Not super urban mostly beaches and houses in the small city I’m from. Hey from Florida.
That 24-105mm is definitely versatile, you got lots of different looking shots with it
It is for sure! For some shots I wished I had like f1.8 but overall it worked out
I really love your work keep going
Plz can you tell me what did you use to do voice over in this video ?
It’s same thing just follow leading Lin’s and look for shadows. Also just in black and white.
Nice...to make it more challenging, next time I would try with just a prime ie. 24mm or 35mm
Hoping to get a 35
In my opinion the street photography does not suit your style at all, but some of the pictures, for example the photo with reflections on window was phenomenal! Thank You for reminding that the best way to be creative is to get out of comfort zone.
Yeah I just love those Mountain vibes
cool shots.
Hi, Cody!
Can you upload a prime lens vs kit lens?
Cody, this video was shot using 18-105mm?
Yep!
Hi Cody! love your luts! Been using it for almost all of my projects. just a question though.. how come Im getting noise when using your cine4 PP at 1000 ISO compared to your HLG3 PP which has zero noise even at 3200 ISO? I like the colors from your cine4 pp though.. pls help..
Great stuff, stepping out of your comfort zone. This was great. Still waiting on that tutorial for the crispy clean voice over though.
It's a secret 🤫
hi Cody.
In which city was the photo taken?
Nice video, man!
2:64 Amazing photo
Hi Cody, found your channel a couple days ago. I am binge watching all of them! Really want to get into videography and photography as a hobby now that I have graduated college. I'm also opening up a clothing Boutique so I want to work on the online pictures for the site. Thanks for all your knowledge. You're killing it!
Were the b rolls also shot with the 105?
do you recommend a course to get started and feel more confident with some basic skills to get started with?
Evan I recommend you check out the The beginners photography guide by Chris Gatcum its by DK I had the 2nd edition it’s infographic showing you everything from posture to different modes and ways you can apply it to yourself, you’ll enjoy the book it makes learning fun I bought it two years ago and I was doing it as a hobby, shooting auto and snap shots because I was afraid of playing with different modes now I’m running my own studio and actually starting my own business from it my pictures got published in a magazine for my city never did I think I would be capable of that and it was all thanks to that book 🙂.
Well done!!!👍👍👍👍 your street photos are very good !
Eh.... Im trying 😅
Cody Blue honestly , I really enjoyed the video and photos, !!! That I you for the inspiration!
Hey man, congrats from Brazil!!

Great stuff, man! Getting out of that comfort zone and trying new things is the best way to progress. Looking forward to seeing how the leap into street photography progresses your other work.
oh, and Victoria's sister is like Dana Linn Bailey's steroid-free doppleganger
The colours on that wide angle blue truck shot😍😍😍 is that on one of your preset packs?
I honestly can't say that it is because even tho yes it is, I did a lot of extra stuff to that image. 😂 Btw I only have one pack of photo presets
@@codyandvictoria well it looks stunning man good job! And ya I realized that after I checked your links haha
