Good review! I had the GT when it first came out. Took it over Europe and it wasn't the most comfortable!. So then got a V-Strom 1050 and whilst that has more comfort, after 2 hrs riding, your bum twitching again!. The other thing with the Strom is the quick shifter is no-where near as smooth as the GT (probably due to the engine characteristics ?). Anyway, im seriously considering a GX with a comfort seat. It ticks all my boxes.
I think that's a sensible decision if you are long distance touring going for the GX from the other bikes you mention. The GX still has all the power with that engine but it's adaption from the GT to a more rider comfort with its up right riding position, pegs, bars & seat I think you should find it better especially with a comfort seat. Take it for a test ride, let me know how you get on bud, cheers, Daz.
I think the same applies to the GT as the GX. There are top box's available but obviously not from Suzuki. I spoke to Adam at Suzuki Wigston, he suggested Givi. Here's the link for Givi's GT luggage solutions www.givi.it/my-motorcycle/bike/suzuki/gsx-s1000gt-22--24
Thanks Gaz, I think the GX will find its place in the market being versatile with both the elements it offers. Regarding you're comments of being vertically challenged, I have the perfect bike for you, I'll have to keep you in suspense though as the bike will be in the next video! 🤔
Suzuki state in that 3D picture the bike was shaped at the front for maximum airflow & driver comfort. As mentioned I thought the designer s could have come up with an adjustment on the fly as well like the GS I ride, the Tiger I rode & the Multistrada. I'd perhaps look to see if there's any aftermarket windshield extenders to improve the noise Ian, I usually where ear plugs too, that definitely reduces the noise!
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips yes. Check the rear tyre . You'll see the Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyre that comes with the bike. Rear is Nylon. It works well when the tyre is warm. BUT, the grip is no good when on lean. That's my experience.

@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips thank you
Nice review daz. I liked the look of the GT last year and the GX is nicer.
Just a shame I’m a short arse, seat a little high for me.

Gaz, I've just posted the next vid, check out the 'Thornton Scoop Doug' it'd be ideal for you! Seat height is 690-700mm!
What about the wind noise it kills my bike

@cengizkurban arh right, thanks for your tip & experience with this tyre 👍
No top box wouldnt be comfortable 4 long rides 4 pillion passenger, looks more sportier than a long distance tour bike . Bmw looks better
