Sunday would work well. I won't have to scurry off like a WereRat to get stuff done. Unless, I'm out on a bike. I need to get some more riding in, working on the house is cramping my style. 🤣
First of all I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you on your live vid Willie , I’m just too ill at the moment. I have to say Teddy looks fab , Motea uk has bar end mirrors for Teddy and Amazon has them. Hope that’s helps . 😊😊
Kickstarting, put the bike on the centre stand, ignition OFF procced to kickstart from halfway up ONLY do approx approx 10 pumps on the Kickstart to build-up compression. Turn the ignition on then kickstart the bike from half-way up on the kickstart (to avoid kickback) you may have to hold the semi choke lever in located on the left hand handlebar just as you kickstart the bike.
It's a really easy bike to kickstart, honestly. Just ease it over compression on the kickstart, let the lever back up, then kick firmly. It should start first or second kick. Use lever on the left handlebar to set a fast idle while it warms up if you need to. Enjoy.
Hey Willie, I love the new bike! You are going to have so much fun on Teddy. I am usually more of a fan of spokes on classics, but as far as mags go, those are very spoke-like! Plus the convenience of being tubeless (I assume they are tubeless?!) I think those are an excellent compromise 👍
That does look nice. But we can’t hear it!! I thought it had spoked wheels, for some reason. Well, technically it does have spokes I suppose. They look like the wheels Harley Davidson use on their Breakout. Speaking of Harley Davidson, I’ve just bought one. A Fat Bob 😂 I was close to buying an Interceptor, a Z900RS, and a KTM 1290 Super Duke. But I decided to ‘come out’ and bought a Harley instead. I’ve spent the past 40 years avoiding them and taking the piss out of them. My cousin and my mates who own Harleys all tried to get me to have a go on theirs. I did sit on them, then got off it and said, “That’s enough of that!” 🤣 And here I am now, one of them. At last, I’ve got something to ride to the Blue Oyster Bar 🤣
@@2wheeledwillie395 God, that looks strange seeing someone say that about me. I’m a Harley man. Oh dear 😂 Cheers, I already know you’re enjoying both of yours. We are allowed to own more than two bikes though. So don’t feel bad when you buy a 350 Classic as well 😂 I got that Harley for a good price, it’s the last year of the Twin Cam engine, before the Milwaukee 8 engine replaced it. I’ll probably sell one of my GSXR 1000’s in the near future and then buy an Interceptor anyway. Superbikes are ok for short blasts, but my time on them is coming to an end. I’m getting too old for them, hence buying a tractor 😂

I fitted a pair of Stadium bar end mirrors on my Trials. I did have to do some modifications to them. Not too difficult, just remember to commit to the cut/drill. Stainless work hardens something fierce!
Willy I have a classic 500 I put the round stadium bar end mirrors on it stadium are an old company look on line about £50 ish . They fold up so if you have tight space find get in the way .tom
Please check the age of the battery. if its the original that comes with the bike i would advise you to replace it before it let's you down. i took my classic out and it let me down, the total mileage on the bike was 70 miles only, and being EFI you can not kick start it with a flat battery
The battery on my 2018 RE 500 classic fractured due to vibration, bike was running on the alternator. once i stopped it it would not restart as you correctly stated.
Great looking machine willie, those wheels do look good. Brave man going out, bloody freezing out there. I assume you know the right mirror has a left hand thread, i.e. lefty tighty.
Bought my bar end mirrors from EBay Willie currently 30 quid a pair. Love the wheels even though Im a tubed lover on Ethel . If Teddy has the threaded spigots on the bar ends, I could always whip one off of Ethel for you to try.
A Keeper - must be - get it in the goalmouth .looks great. By the way that grave i told you about is in the village of Friston, E.Sussex and on the cross it only says "Washed Ashore". Enjoy the rides.
I agree the wheels are OK being different. I prefer a normal spoked but I would be OK buying one with them . Certainly wouldn't pay for replacements. But, throttle on, 3rd gear 40mph. What a feeling. On big bike at that speed it's boring.
Two words of advice for the the Classic 500 that you will never need for any other motorcycle. 1) to check the oil, set the bike on its center stand, start the engine and let it run for 2 minutes, turn it off and wait another 2 minutes to check the level. If you check it any other way you will likely be adding oil thinking that the bike needs it, or draining it thinking that its overfilled. Do not overfill the engine. It usually runs on approximately 2.2 liters of oil. 2) the bike has a cut off switch on the side stand (kick stand) which turns off the fuel pump. It will never run with its side stand even if its in neutral. Dealers don't even know this and often try to start the bike with its side stand down. You need to tell them about this. I have had mine since 2017 (purchased new) and the bike has been reliable. Hope this helps. Cheers from Québec Canada.
@@2wheeledwillie395 My pleasure! I just noticed in your last video, that your bike runs with the side stand down. Hi willie, just seen your new classic 500, looks a great bike or it would do if you didn't have those coco the clown wheels on it, it defeats the object of it being a classic looking bike and it needs the peak on the head lamp and that ridiculous silencer taking off and putting a goldy on it from hitchcocks, and put some traditional wheels back k on it and I'm sure it would make a great bike, but each to us own everybody's different and that dealer really saw you coming, I bet he's had that in his showroom for over 3 years 😂😂😂 Anyway got to go, got to get back home on my Z900.
