Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is the quintessential “mega city.” Not only is it the world’s largest metropolitan area, but it is almost entirely responsible for making Japan the third-largest economy in the world. And while this all sounds great, we’re only scratching the surface of what’s going on in this futuristic metropolis. Because there’s a dark side to Tokyo. And while it may be the economic sail moving Japan forward today, it could soon become the anchor that brings it to a grinding halt.
