Can't believe you sat on this footage for so long! (obviously subtitles its a mountain of work) But what a great video. Mostly I want to say how nice Tadashi is, how hard he works making so many photos every month and doing the Rozou Project. And all the other members it's so nice to see them working hard. What a shame 2020/1 has brought us such challenges. But Fujitani said, "If it would be easy, it would stop being fun."
Good summary :D Yeah I feel bad for letting them wait so long. But shortly after this trip the GR III came out and I started with all the Ricoh content. But I think it still works! Definitely got a new vibe now with the pandemic.
@@tremolo664 I showed a few clips from this video in my Tokyo Street Photography Vlog I posted January 2019. You have seen a glimpse but not the actual content :)
watching such passionate people talking and vibing about their craft is incredibly inspiring. I can't wait to go out on streets to experience all of this again !
This is my favorite UA-cam video. I've lost count how many times I've watched it. The stories, the characters, the buzz. It's incredible Thank you Samuel
I have to say, this made me quite emotional watching it. It made me sad for our current state of affairs, and missing Tokyo, and inspired all at the same. I'm sure there's a fancy Japanese word for that. :) Thanks for putting this together, best street photo content on UA-cam by far (and I have a lot of time nowadays to look).
That was definitely one of the most interesting videos on modern street photography I've watched on this platform, it's great to see their different approaches to photography, and a hint of their motivation and their character. Seeing Shibuya so crowded makes me miss Tokyo a lot and I cannot wait for corona to go away and to live in a "more normal" way again. Greetings from Barcelona!
The cool thing about this video is that each street photographer took turns being interviewed by lin.taro. The stuff they say about photography and how they use their cameras were sooo enlightening. I learned a lot from this video
This is how I remember street photography, out in the busy streets with people everywhere. What a great bunch of people in the VoidTokyo Collective, some really great photography between them. As street photographers I guess we all can't wait for things to get back to how they were and to get back shooting again. Thanks for the video Samuel.
2018 must be nice to photograph the streets back then! VoidTokyo such a strong collective of talented photographers! Love the video and I think its good that you sat on this footage so long because its a glimpse of how our future will look in one year! 🍻🍻
My reaction to this is definitely a sign of the times; On one hand, I felt nostalgia seeing these artists being able to pursue their art and a sense of happiness and twinge of excitement seeing everyone being able to walk round, intermingling with one another, everyone enjoying themselves, speaking to one another and eating and drinking in fellowship. On the other hand, I thought my anxiety rise seeing everyone being able to walk around, intermingling on one another, everyone enjoying themselves, speaking to one another and eating and drinking in fellowship. Fucking COVID and lockdown.
Another great video. I love this documentary vibe. Fortuitous timing to remind everyone how carefree life and meeting friends used to be and will be again.
That part when Tatsuo really did look like he was having flashbacks. Man it would be nice to have a photographer posse walking the streets. Great video, Samuel! The editing and subbing must've been a lot of work.
samuel, you made a really fine video with a lot of emotional scenes and very interesting inside informations for each photographer. a highlight was the communication between the different persons. a huge compliment for your work!!!
It must have been nice to hangout with them. The wait on this gem was worth it. What an awesome group of skilled individuals! Thanks for the awesome content.
It's weird how emotional this video made me. I got really excited to see a bit of normality even if it was for a short time in this video. Sad it ended so quickly. Thanks, Lintaro.
damn that was so fun to watch, thanks for making this samuel! such interesting characters. definitely made me miss interacting with other photographers and documenting crowded spaces!!!
Love tadashi! He shows that photography is not always about good cameras, although nikon j5 is a good camera, just nowadays, specs-wise its falling far behind. His observation skills are so good.
Loved the video Samuel!! This really makes me miss the days before covid, so much energy on the streets and subjects to capture and being with photography friends as well!! 😪😪
I'm now digging into this series. It's so great to explore and discover other's perspective, vision and setups. Btw, I realised I really like your music selection. Really like the jazz hop beat at the the end.
So weird to see people walking normally, no stress. Nostalgic.
If it was today it would be more photographers than people to photograph
m g a hah, probably you are right.
I came back to street photo in the end of 2020.
I can’t wait to shoot when it’s normal again.
Sad but true.
Since the pandemic situation will (hopefully) not last, it's an incredible opportunity for street photographers to capture this weird epoch.
Père Nestor M'Bilou I’m in Sweden and there is almost no visual difference. So not so much to document, just feeling stressed

@@SamuelStreetlife I’ve seen this footage before tho? Where?
@@ThereGoesSpider He did a previous video on the VoidTokyo collective - so it might feel similar to that one ?
Pretty sure this is a re-upload or I'm having a 23 minute dejavú.

This was honestly my favorite OTSW you've done! I'm jealous I wish I had a group of friends like that
i agree!!!
Same!
I can't even find one friend who is like this.
japanese style street photography is the king of street photography
This is my favorite UA-cam video. I've lost count how many times I've watched it. The stories, the characters, the buzz. It's incredible Thank you Samuel
Ashley is very sound
Thanks!
I didn’t want this to end …
Same....loved it !
Totally
It is such a lovely thing to hear talking japanese and all the communication noise. It is truly revealing your authenticity.
Tatsuo Suzuki is probably my favorite contemporary street photographer! Love the grittiness, black and white and overall esthetics

I love this series. It makes me miss Tokyo so much.
This episode was so so good! So interesting to see how everybody’s work was so different and unique, though still kind of related to each other.
The cool thing about this video is that each street photographer took turns being interviewed by lin.taro. The stuff they say about photography and how they use their cameras were sooo enlightening. I learned a lot from this video
The bunny ear girls photo by Miko Okawa (2:16) is such a cool photo. I love it.
I have watched this ten times in last few days. Beautifully done. Music and images made me emo! Love Japan.

Thanks Martin! Also one of my favourites...
Wonderful. So enlightening to see different techniques from such talented people who retain a humbleness that transcends
what a fascinating group. big source of inspiration. refreshing for the time being. thanks for sharing it now.
Awesome. Such a lively and supportive group. A real positive example for all of us.
Brilliant video! Amazing work. I prefer shoot alone or maybe one friend! Not into huge crowds! Look for quiter moments and folk. Again Bravo!
Soaking in all their knowledge. Thanks for sharing
Miho Okawa and Kawarachan... 2 of my absolute favs!!!❤️❤️❤️
Cant wait for more of these, always interesting to see how different photographers see and do things and always a tip or trick to try out
I’m team Void Tokyo all the way!!! Great video.🙏

So interesting, I love this video and this collective ! Great pictures too ! Thx
So sick seeing a bunch of s-tier photographers hanging out like this. Such cool vibes!
Wow wow wow, what a quality! Love the pace, rhythm and music of the video. This could absolutely be a 90mins documentary!
I had a smile on my face the whole video. Great video, thank you.
An amazing insider of the Tokyo street photography scene!
